Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great in me! I think it has to do with what you have in your hair in the first place and the total temperature Wash your hair in and if you use a regular shampoo or a color retention shampoo. But for the price for the results, and the lack of chemical annoyance. I love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great affordable, easy to use hair color This is so easy to use and gives your hair such a natural looking color. The price is also very reasonable and I do use it frequently since I have a short pixie haircut. It also doesn’t damage your hair. It was recommended by my hairdresser and she was right. It’s great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love I used 6n and love it. the color is beautiful full of rich neutral tones. i found it to be true to color as it was described as light brown, maybe a little darker but not by much and i love the color. the smell is good and the shine is incredible. my new favorite! oh and my hair is soft.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does NOT cover gray This is my third color with this product. Before I used Sally's regular demi-permanent hair color. I decided to try this because it was advertised as better gray coverage. It does not cover gray at all - the other product worked way better on gray coverage.

I had level 10 platinum blonde and tried to go back to jet black so I bought a jet black hair color and it turned my hair into a red brownish hair color ! How can I fix my hair I want to have black hair

Asked by: Ashley904
Apply the same color again. When darkening more than 3 levels you need to fill the hair with red and gold so the desired level will be true to tone and not blotchy or muddy. You technically filled the hair on your first attempt so try it again now.

If I'm just using the clear to add gloss to my hair, do I still need to buy the developer to mix with it?

Asked by: Devonchristine
Yes, you use it the same way you use the hair color and it really adds shire to your hair.

Do you have to use the whole tube at once or can you squeeze a little out for touchups and put the lid back on and use later

Asked by: Tammy brumley
You can use as much as you want at a time, just make sure to seal tightly with the cap afterwards. You'll notice there are actually marks on the side of the tube so you know how many ounces you are using so you can mix the right ratio of developer - be careful to squeeze from the bottom of tube with even pressure if measuring this way. This is a demi not semi permanent color so always has to be used with developer - you can't just squeeze a little onto your hair by itself for touchups, but you can mix up a small batch at a time. Make sure you use with an equal amount of developer every time you use it.

Do use 10. Or 20 developer with this

I ran out of the demi developer that I had, so I used Ion 10 volume and it worked totally fine. Results were the same, and I think the color may have lasted a bit longer without fading.

Love the product, hair is very soft. The only thing it just didn’t cover my gray 100%☹️ I used 8N. Left it in 40 mins. Should I do it again if so what color. I don’t want a red or brassy look. I have medium brown hair

Asked by: DeeJay1963
Well I've got dark brown hair w about 1/3 gray coming in and have had horrible problems with brassy red tones and gray coverage. Color Brilliance is better than anything else I've found so far. I finally got the brass out by adding the Color Brilliance Ash intensifier. I actually add it at a 1 to 10 part ration to 7A-7.1 color creme and leave it on full 45 mins., maybe even a little longer if the weather's cold. (don't forget Ion Absolute Perfection Booster) I hold a little of the mix back, and about 15 mins before rinsing, mix in a bit more Ash Intensifier and paint this on, drawing the mix down the hair a bit, getting the brass out of the fading ends.  At this point you need to keep watch to make sure it doesn't go too blue. But it doesn't last that long, true. Need to refresh with a demi-gloss in about a month. Hence the need to protect my naturally porous hair with the Absolute Perfection Booster. That stuff rocks!

I have salt and pepper hair, a magazine article suggested using Age beautiful demi #3B and clear. I don't want to end up with blue hair. What do you think of this suggestion?

I also have salt and pepper hair. I have used 5N with no problem. Hopefully some one else can comment on use of 3B and clear.

I have medium brown hair with a few high and low lights.  I have a little less than 50% gray in my slightly darker brown outgrowth/roots and want to know whether AB perm. color 7N or 6N would be best to color roots and have them blend well with my hair.

Asked by: CindySF7
I use age beautiful demi permanent color. It is meant to cover first grays. Demi will be better because it is deposit only color with no ammonia so no damage. It will leave your hair shiny. Use the 6n to blend with your darker brown roots

I have short hair and lget hair cuts offen. I like to have highlights can I use this product alone? I like the foil look and I would like to try to do it myself It is so expense to have done. I have been doing my own hair for years.

Asked by: Judy4751
I have shoulder length hair and do foils in medium brown to provide low lights to my grey hair. I really like this product-it is gentle and provides good coverage that I find lasts about 2 months. Have you ever done foils before? I have a friend help because I find it is difficult to hold the foil and apply the dye at the same time. So I would recommend it for highlights but would suggest having a friend help you apply it.

There is a very light scent to the product which I find pleasant. I don't know the exact ingredients. I would suggest Googling the product name-perhaps the manufacturer has the ingredient list on their site.

I have light to medium brown hair...greying.   Looking for a coppery brown color light to medium tone.  I use Demi perm.   What do you suggest?

Asked by: Nancymar
I would say that I have light to medium brown hair and it is graying around the temples and on the back of the crown. I have been using Age Beautiful 7N for several years and have been very happy with it. Be aware that the longer you leave it in the darker the results.

Which developer do you use with this product?

Asked by: June0606
It depends. If you're using the demi, they have a demi developer. If you're using a permanent and it's just a color, typically you'd use a 10. If you're covering gray, use a 20. 30's and 40's are typically used for bleach!

Do you apply to hair before shampooing? Or after shampoo then apply Demi permanent?

Asked by: Ally Carpenter
I like to shampoo my hair a day or two before I color, color likes and sticks better on dirtier hair, and it's important to never shampoo after color for at least 48 hours. Shampooing right after color is basically defeating the purpose, you're just washing it out. Deep condition for sure after rinsing thoroughly, but wait on the shampoo for a few days to let the color really get in there and stain the hair. (I'm a stylist and also work at a Sally's! :))

Why is this product turning my hair dark brown almost black? Left it in for about 25 minutes and not plum at all. Natural color is dark brown.

Asked by: Elena123
Because your hair is already dark, when applying something dark, together, will darken the hair.

Can I mix a small amount of the blue or purple in with my hair conditioner for a brass toning effect on my bleach blonde hair?

Asked by: blonde and brassy
I wouldn't use demi color for this. They only work when used with developer, similar to permanent color. I have the blue one and it looks brown out of the tube until it's mixed with developer and left on the hair for a while. You should use a small amount of direct dye, like Manic Panic, Ion Brights, or Pravana ChromaSilk Vivids in your conditioner.

Asked by: TRACY
It depends on the color of your highlights currently, the color you want to use on them, as well as other factors. But I will try to answer this the best I can. You said you hair is brown w/ the highlights? Your highlights would need to be very pale blonde for these colors to show up as vivid as they do on the box/hair swatch. At a darker blonde level, hair will still show the color, though not as much as it would with light pale blonde. Anything brown or darker, a few of these shades will mildly tint the hair but it won't be vivid. I use these colors on myself, and find they show up true to swatch when my hair is pre-lightened to pale blonde.

Longest Time to Leave in Colour?

Could I possibly leave in the color overnight to make sure it's a deep as possible? Or is the recommended time long enough?
Asked by: Vita
You really only need to leave it in for about 3 minutes as directed on the bottle. I have left it in for a half hour before and saw no difference in the intensity. It is a temporary color so it washes out after about one to two shampoos in my hair.

Can I mix this demi permanent dye with a bit of ion brilliance permanent dye?

I have dark hair (dark brown/black). I've dyed a streak of it magenta with L'oreal HiLights and it works great because it's meant for dark hair. I really want a burgandy purple ish tone with my dark hair without having to bleach any of it. I was wondering if I could mix demi and permanent dye to get the color I want
Asked by: potato123
No, in permanent dyes there are chemicals which will alter the demi-permanent dyes. The color will be distorted and it could POSSIBLY damage your hair.
