Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great long yet temporary hair color It’s easy to mix and apply. It does a great job covering my gray hairs. I’ve always liked how it fades unlike a permanent color which leaves a line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this color! Lasts long and didn’t damage my hair. Used with a 20 vol developer
Date published: 2020-08-26
Rated 1 out of 5 by from disappointed I used this to cover blue in my hair, which in turn made it green. understandable. When it was bleached out and my hair was a very light blonde, i used this again because it matches my hair color the best. it is now green again. very upsetting because i’m going to have to pay someone to strip the color out again and damage my hair more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fixed my orange hair I bleached my dark brown hair, leaving it looking carrot orange. After trying Wella T14 and seeing no difference, I tried the demi-permanent 7A and ended up with a really pretty ashy light brown! Highly recommend if you have orange hair and are looking to go darker.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 8A Light Ash Blonde Made my Hair BROWN I bought this to tone my dyed brassy blonde hair that I thought was a level eight, maybe I have misconceptions of what a level 8 is but I'm pretty sure its not this dark. On top of this it dried out my hair, sadly I'll have to use harsh shampoos really often to be able to get this color out.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Dried my hair These colors as others say run very dark. I have medium brown hair with bayalage and I bought light ash brown. It darkened my strands and was not ash at all. My hair is still brassy and so dried out.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Just so you know! DIYrs Made the mistake of using this with a 10 developer. It ended up lifting color (mostly from my roots) making my hair orange. This was mostly my fault, but I wish they had a developer in the package. On the other hand I used this on my mom and it turned out beautifly!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 8A after 2 shampoos I lost the ash and my red undertones were back. I may have to go darker shade of semi permanent color or use a permanent color. Easy to use, low odor. I used 8A over golden dark blonde hair

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Color! Great color, easy to use, beautiful shine! So much so I started bringing this to my hair salon!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quarantine touch up My hair stylist recommended I use this on my roots during quarantine until salons opened back up again. I have natural blonde hair and am starting to get some grays. This works great on my roots, covers the grays and is the same shade as my low light. Does not turn my hair orange or greenish like box dyes do. I recommend consulting a professional before purchase to make sure you get the right shade and developer to suit your hair color.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Color 10NA It’s a good product leaves hair shiny and silky however I wanted a platinum blonde this was a bit greenish. Will get yellow tones out but it’s. Not a cool shade to me

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for toning highlights! My natural color is a level 3 and had highlights that were turning orange yellow. I saw from a YouTuber Ellenangs that this would give my highlights a nice dark ashy brown. Tried it and it worked amazing! It did not affect my roots which is what I wanted. Left my highlights toned like at the salon!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Its blonde not brown I have no idea how this color turned out because I am a huge dork and bought two of these, then after I mixed it up at home, I realized it said medium ash blonde not medium ash brown!!! So I had to dump it because I was trying to go brown. Ayayay.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY! Why do people rave about Wella hair color. This is the second time I’ve tried this product, I even purchased a shade lighter, and it still turned my hair almost black (that’s with a Neutral blonde shade 7N!) I even ordered from a different site with the off chance that maybe the first one I got was oxidized or old. Also, this product does not mix well in a plastic color bowl. It’s very watery and has small chunks of color. I had to pour out of bowl into empty developer bottle to mix. This is literally one of the worst products I’ve ever purchased. I wish I learned from the first time but now I’m left to dry my hair incessantly with bad shampoos to speed up fading. Even if your salon was closed like mine and you’re desperate! Don’t listen to all the hype. You’re better off with some drugstore clairol. At least it’s more true to shade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for toning Worked beautifully as a solution to even and tone my grown out, brassy balayage. My highlights were about a level 8 and this deepened the color of my hair subtly and removed the warmth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice ash color Great color for a a natural dark blonde. Used over Highlights to get my hair back to natural color. No roots show grows out without a line gradually lighted a over time. Great color no red tones at all

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mediocre Color is a little muddy, wish there were more selection. Smells good, applies easily, processes evenly.
Date published: 2020-06-14
Rated 2 out of 5 by from fades quickly Wish this color would hold. Used 8N for a light brown color. Started out fine but within 2 weeks with only 2 washings the brown color was gone and I was left with the yellowish bleached blond look. My natural hair is a medium brown with grey. All I want to do is cover the grey but everything lightens it and the color does not hold.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from gets the job done make sure when you get this look and see what is the lightest color of blond on your head then get that level is worked pretty good

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent hair color Works much better and lasts much longer than the drugstore “permanent “ hair color that I was using. Better gray coverage and looks more natural. I will absolutely continue to use this product!

I was platinum tried going darker with wella demi. I used a color eraser to start over. My hair is quite gold now, not brassy tho. Lightest ash blonde didn't change it. Medium ash blonde is way too dark . Would natural light blonde be good or light ash?

Asked by: Hunnybunny79
I’m not a professional but I have seen many professional YouTube videos and they usually say that if it’s gold/ yellow you have to use a toner that is purple/violet based and if it’s more brassy/orange you need the ash because ash is blue and blue counter acts the orange as purple counter acts the yellow. Idk if that helps!

Can I use this over Wella permanent color charm? I currently use Titian Red Blonde but want to go back to my natural dark blonde color. Can I use this over my current color while I let my natural hair color grow back in?

Have stubborn gray how long do I leave it on

Asked by: Nanac1947
I too have very stubborn, resistant grays. I leave it on 1 hour, covered with plastic. Hit it with a blow dryer, every 10 minutes. It will not damage your hair. i have used this product for years.

I have medium brown hair I colored my hair a year ago and the ends are now getting brassy. Would using Medium natural blonde or dark natural blonde all over make my brassiness worse? what base color this is, a blue? Should I just do brown 5n?

Asked by: Jasmine tay
I think you should try the lighter color.   I have medium brown hair and the lighter colors I’ve tried didn’t seem to take well as in barely any color change but never made it look brassy

So I used the ION 7NA and came out chocolate brown.  It's been a few weeks and thought I should try Wella.  What is suggested on my now dyed dark brown hair if I want a lighter brown ash color?

Asked by: Shaz12345
Demi permanent color will only deposit color. If you want to go lighter, you have to use permanent color because it will lift then deposit and decide how many shades lighter you want to go.

Is this the lightest color they have.? My hair is white at roots and very pale golden blonde. Just want to tone the blonde to match the white..

Asked by: Tashatoria
There are 2 shades you could try, one would be the Light Natural Blonde and the other is the Light Ash Blonde. The Natural will give you some very pale golden highlights and the Ash will be more like the grey in your hair. (I think the Natural might be best for you.) I use a 20 Volume developer 2/1 ratio (developer to color). You can also mix the colors and use a little of each, which may give you more of the "highlighted" look and you can easily blend it into your natural blonde hair. I use the Light Natural Blonde with the Medium Natural Blonde for coloring the gray and highlights in my natural medium blonde hair.
