Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love everything about this! I've been using this for years and it's my favorite dye in 20+ years of coloring my own hair. It has a thick consistency, like frosting, which doesn't drip all over or stain the scalp. If I leave it on overnight, it's a gorgeous purple BLACK that has highlights of purple in the sun. It lasts a long time no matter how long I leave it on, and it smells good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from N*Rage vs. leading color I started out using Manic Panic and it was okay. But I thought I would try something different and this stuff was AMAZING!!! My daughter has SUPER long hair and dyes about 9" of it so she dyes it pink into purple into blue. I get so many compliments and people asking me to do there girls hair. It does bleed for at least 3 more washes after you dye but if you use COLD water to wash the hair it will stay in a lot longer. I do her hair maybe every 3-4 months. I do bleach her hair for a more vibrant color, but it still is very noticeable without being bleached. Highly recommended.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Color gets everywhere , colbalt blue I followed instructions rinsed hair and blue kept coming out. Finally once water looked to run clear I blow dried my hair and went out. Well, it was embarrassing when I started to sweat out side I had the blue run down my neck and forehead. This happened more than once. Three weeks later I’m still getting blue on my hand while running my fingers through my ALREADY DRIED HAIR. Never again will I get this, so embarrassing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product!! I first started using this product about 5 months ago. My go to has been the Teal mused with a little Coldplay Blue and the color has gotten me so many compliments. Since my initial due I’ve reapplied twice, once with the colbolt to see what it would look like then again with the teal since I didn’t like the blue as much. My hair is dark brown so we bleached it a little beforehand. I’ve read some tips from another post about missing conditioner in the product to get it lighter and more vibrant so next time I’ll try that. Cheers!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Purple? Nope. Blue. Bleached and dyed my hair using the Passion Plum thinking I would get a nice vibrant purple. Instead it turned out blue. Not a happy camper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Color I wanted a dye I could use without bleaching my hair (naturally an Ash Blonde color). I was told to use ‘N Rage and I’m so glad I did! The color isn’t very vibrant and shows up wonderfully without me using any bleaching agents! 10/10 suggest this! I’ve heard it smells like bubble gum. But it definitely doesn’t. It smells terrible but it’s chemicals so it is what it is!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from this color last!!! this color last way longer than manic panic or any of the other vivid colors that i have tried over the years. especially purple, it always fades really fast, this brand holds it color longer!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Purple is VERY blue-based/cool toned. This mostly reads as a dark blue. So if you are looking for a warm toned/pink based purple, either mix the Fuschia with it (or the blue, or the teal - whichever gives you the purple you want!) or buy a different brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE!!! I change my color a lot. This is my first time using this product and it's been over a month and I still have a vibrant purple. I have only had to re do it once so far since I originally went with this product. I recommend washing it with cold water of course if you already use bright colors you would know it lasts longer that way. If you have dark hair like I do you'll need to bleach it if you want the vibrant purple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hair color This was my second product randomly I decided to use after not liking Manic Panic. Manic don’t last too long, but I wish It did because they have so many colors to choose from. Just when I got into this hair color product they had removed a lot of colors . Please bring more of a variety . This product is really good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bright color and lasts ages I purchased the fuschia color and LOVE it!! I’ve used about 5 different hair dyes and this one is officially my favorite and the only one I use. The color lasts ages, I wash my hair once a week with cold water and the color lasts me 2-3 months. It’s been 2 months since I’ve touched up the color and I always get compliments on it. Seriously, strangers will compliment my hair left and right. The dye smells like bubble gum which is a plus, I loove it!! The only bad thing about this dye is the color will rub off on your pillow case and so forth. It bleeds a lot in the shower as well. I don’t mind the cons though, the color is just so beautiful and makes me feel amazing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Objectively terrible in almost every way. I bought the cobalt blue and the ONLY good thing I have to say is that the color is really nice and vibrant. However, it's not a nice enough blue that I want it all over everything I own. Even after multiple rinses in cold water and drying with heat until all moisture was gone, the color transfer was ridiculous. It left a massive blue mark on my couch and I can't touch my hair without looking like I am about to succumb to frostbite. The only thing that stopped the color transfer was when I shampooed my hair, which is probably because most of the color came out in a single wash. Within a week (and I wash my hair maybe 2-3 times a week) you couldn't tell the color was there. Also, the dye itself smells like bubble gum, more specifically that nasty stale bubble gum you get with hockey cards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vibrant and holds up really well! I have had a variety of hair colors, but one color that was always difficult was purple. They were either too blue, faded too quickly, or just faded to a weird color. This is by far the best purple I have used. When you first dye it, it is a very dark and deep purple with blue tone. When it fades, the color gets vibrant and very purple. The color also lasts significantly longer than any other purple I have ever used. I pre-lightened my hair the first time, and then I would go over the color with purple a couple weeks later. Then I really only had to ever touch up the roots for the most part. I have also used the Teal and Cobalt as well, and was equally impressed. They also all compliment each other well, so its fun to mix and switch up. The attached picture for the purple is just purple plum, but 4 weeks after dying it! The picture attached of the blue is a mix of Cobalt and Twisted Teal after about 2 weeks from dying it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best semi-permenant color ever! Among all the brands that I've used this one is the best. Does not fade quickly and does not bleed color eveeywhere. Color is very rich and texture is very thick. My favorite ❤️❤️. I just wish if they had more variety with colors.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from it’s Blue my hair is blue! I just dyed my hair with the purple plum and turned out blue, and every time I touch my hair there’s blue on my hands, there’s blue on my pillows too.. is like the smurfs took over my hair... i’m pretty disappointed

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Plum Purple is BLUE Went in looking for a warm purple. Hair sample has streaks and shades of pink in it. Came off on gloves and hair bright blue. If you're looking for a warm purple look elsewhere.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Colour gone in 1 day, rubbed off on everything Was a very dark blue (expected since I have have brown hair). Colour was bleeding out for a couple days so I kept rinsing it out with cold water. That basically took all the colour out. It really only looked blue for one day, now it just looks black.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cobalt blue This was easy to use, and looked amazing, one tube goes a long way. I will say even though the color looked amazing, didn’t last very long which was a disappointment lasted about a month, washing every 2-4 days. I did not bleach my hair but I did use a developer because I have virgin hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Last a long time! I haven't used this brand in many years because it never lasted very long. I decided to give it a try about a month ago. I am very impressed with the new demi permanent color. It hasn't faded much in the past month and is still really vibrant. It did look more blue when I first colored but now it is very purple and I love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lasts and very vibrant I have multiple uses for this color, it’s one of my fravorites, to start, I am naturally brunette but have bleached hair, whenever my roots get too grown out or I want to give my hair a break from bleach i use the twisted teal. It is SO vibrant, I get so many compliments. Even when it fades the color looks good. I normally mix half bottle with half conditioner And it colors the same making the product last longer. Also I use for a toner, for when my roots or overall hair get brassy, I add a teeny bit mix with conditioner and it takes out the brassy real good. Out of all the colors I used this one is my favorite and does no damage to my hair. Last time I did full head (thick medium to long length) it lasted about 4 months with some fading but still looked great. Highly recommend

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Dye N'Rage was the first brand of dye I ever used when I was about 13 years old (now 18). I've used their twisted teal, purple plum, crimson red, and bubblegum pink. It looks like they don't offer some of those colors anymore and have repackaged, but they still have the same great dye. I usually bleach my hair if I have a darker color on it so that the new dye will hold better, but I probably only use bleach once or twice a year (if that). I usually mix my colors with conditioner if using the teal or purple to get a brighter color. I leave it in quite a bit longer than directed, but that has never caused any damage or breaks to my hair. I've been told by multiple hair professionals that the way I go about doing my vivid colors is safe and one of the better ways to keep your hair healthy. Other brands of dye that I have used in the past have really damaged my hair, so N'Rage has and will continue to be my go-to. To keep the color bright and lasting, I wash my hair in cold water every 2-3 days for the first few weeks until there is no color bleeding. Then I follow up with warm water for the same 2-3 day increments. Generally if you lightly bleach the hair before the color goes on it will stay better, and if you wash your hair like this it can last much, much longer. These colors also fade beautifully, which allows me to have one dye last 3 months or more. It gets a lot lighter after month 2, but if you're okay with the lighter color it is still beautiful and a very even shade usually. I'll insert pictures of the colors below. Note: the purple picture is immediately after I dyed it. It was a little darker than expected, so I washed it in hot water twice to get a brighter purple (although I don't have a picture of that).

I’ve never used this brand of hair color or any Demi for that matter. Do I need to use developer with this product?

How does this get applied and does it wash out after the first wash?

Asked by: Michelle Beckenstein
You apply it to bleached hair with gloves on your hands. It’s a lot more permanent than semi-permanent dyes so you have to be careful what you get it on. Wear old raggy clothes and such when applying. It does not wash within a day since as I said it is more permanent than most colorful dyes like this. Depending on how often you wash your hair, it could stay from 2 - 4 weeks, if I remember correctly. They changed the formula so I don’t use it anymore.

For people with dark hair do you need to bleach it first?

Asked by: Deez4984
Typically yes unless you're just going for a colored tint over your hair. For the teal and purple you dont have to bleach super light though. Ive I used them on prettu orange hair and it worked fine and i got a decent color.
