ion Color Brilliance Master Colorist Series Demi Permanent Creme Hair Color is the new tonal series in demi-permanent hair color. This master colorist series combines warm pastel pigments with saturated matte dyes to create a melting of colors. Also the intense pigmentation energized by luminescent micro pigments provide a metallized, polished finish.

The Demi collection offers a state-of-the-art European ionic formula that is a luxurious, long-lasting, deposit-only hair color without ammonia. Also the Demi collection covers and blends gray hair without lifting the hair's natural pigment, providing same-day color with chemical relaxers and permanent waves.

  • Select desired shade. Mixing ratio can be either 1:1 or 1:2.  Mix 2 oz. of ion Color Brilliance Master Colorist Series Demi Hair Color with 2 oz. or 4 oz of ion Sensitive Scalp Creme Developer 10 Volume in a non-metallic bowl.

All instructions are based on average texture, normal porosity; Fine hair is much more receptive to hair coloring where coarse hair is not.

Use ion Color Brilliance Pre-Color Treatment to help ensure even color results from scalp to ends. A i5-minute cool down is recommended if heat is used prior to rinsing. Standard processing time is 10-40 minutes at room temperature and 10-15 minutes with heat. After processing, rinse hair thoroughly until the water runs clear.

  • Always wear gloves. Using a non-metallic bowl or tint bottle, mix 2 oz. of ion Color Brilliance Master colorist series Demi Permanent Creme Hair Color with either 2 oz. or 4 oz. ion Sensitive Scalp Creme Developer 10 volume. Apply mixture immediately after mixing to dry hair. Do not store mixture; container may burst.

For natural, non color-treated hair (virgin application):  Apply  formula to the scalp area.  Immediately work through mid-lengths and ends.

For Retouching:  Apply formula to the scalp (new growth) area.  Process for half the recommended processing time, and then work formula through the mid-lengths and ends.  Finish processing.

Because 45-50% of color loss is attributed to shampooing, it is imperative to use hair care products formulated for color-treated hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love It Just purchased this yesterday, I was about a level 6 hair color from previously dyeing it. The color was getting brassy and so I decided to tone my hair with 050 cooling violet and then putting the chrome color in after washing out the toner. I used a 20 vol developer and it came out nice. Definitely made my hair an ashy tone, which is what I have been trying to achieve.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for adding dimension! I bot this today and love the results. Followed 'Elle bangs' reverse balyage to creat more depth in my over lightened hair and it turned out great.mixed 1:1 with 10 vol also added clear Demi for added shine and a lighter colour.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did NOT like it I specifically asked if this color would grab and at least turn it some kind of grey or if I should choose a different brand. The lady working recommended this saying it'll grab with no problem. I Bought it, used it and it didn't do anything at all. I'm so upset.

What is the difference between Demi and permanent color

Asked by: Linda531
Permanent is permanent. It isn't coming out without bleaching your head first. The demi permanent will eventually fade out. I use the Ion Chrome Demi Permanent Hair Color and it will last 3 months in my hair with washing it 1 to 2x a week. Permanent would not come out until you grow your hair out or bleach or color correct it out. I hope this helps. OH! And Semi-permanent is less long lasting than demi. Maybe, about 1/2 the life of demi. Temporary color rinses out whenever you shampoo your head within 1 to 5 washings.

Whats the difference between semi and demi permanent?

Asked by: Tiff3708
Semi-permanent hair color doesn’t penetrate the cuticle of the hair because it doesnt require developer so in essence its a temporary hair color so it will fade out. Whereas, demi-permanent hair color requires developer to open the cuticle a little bit to deposit color but demi-permanent hair color does not lift the base color of your hair.

currently using titanium and wanna try the chrome. Hair was at level 10-11. Should I wash some of it out before using the chrome and what would you recommend for a silvery color instead of a darker grey ?

Asked by: Sirprize
I found Chrome to be more purple-toned than blue-toned (similar to if you mix Titanium and Lavender together 1:1). Fade the Titanium down to that blue it eventually washes out to, you can do this with clarifying shampoo or dish soap but I don't recommend bleaching over hair that's already been bleached, you'll eventually end up with porous overprocessed hair that doesn't take color right (I know whereof I speak, I'm dealing with this now). Mix Chrome 2:1, developer:Chrome for a lighter result, 1:1 if you want it darker. Mix up a small test batch using a 1/4 teaspoon or similar to do a strand test before you slap it on your whole head so you'll have some idea of what it's going to look like first. Good luck! :)

I didn't like the way the semi permanent titanium color can out it looks kind of greenish blue with some yellow coming out if I use the semi permanent ion chrome will the color comer out better and a darker gray/ blueish

Asked by: Ang123456
It will look green ish if you hair isn't properly lightened and toned. I used ketchup to help remove the green. It can also be caused by water, Etc. Try using a t14 pale ash blonde Toner with the 050 cooling violet additive. It worked wonders for me

Do I add anything to the chrome ? I put it on my hair straight from the tube with some of my conditioner, will it take?

Asked by: Angie460
No, this color is not a stand alone color. You have to use developer to make it attach to the hair. The direction say 1:1, or 1:2 depending on the results your looking for, with a 10 volume developer. For 1:1, you would use equal amounts of developer and the color, and 1:2 is 1 part color and 2 parts developer. If your wanting a darker color you would use equal parts. For lighter, go with two parts developer for one part color.

I would like to try ION Demi 7VA Chrome on my virgin gray/white hair, what results can I expect and how long will it last if I don't like it?

Asked by: Whitemale64
In my honest opinion, and please keep in mind I am by no means a professional. I have had 20+ years of coloring my own hair experience. That being said, I got beyond horrible results from this Ion product. It took my hair from like the color of the inside of a banana to that of a dull fresh pear peel. I am unsure how long the results will last. I could not wait it out. Needless to say, I had to go slightly darker.

I lightly bleached my ends before,I'm a natural dirty blond and my hair fades of to a light blond. I want to just do the ends of my hair, since that's the lightest, but I don't want to bleach again. Will it still come out like a gray/ chrom? I

Asked by: Sam94874
The rule of thumb with any kind of gray color is, you don't want ANY yellow in your blond. Otherwise the gray acts as a toner and tones the yellow vs actually turning the hair gray. So as long as your ends have no yellow in them you should be fine.

Will slate gray color black hair?

Asked by: Mama Mia
No. It does not have the ability to lighten natural hair color. The black hair would overpower the grey and you would see nothing. If you want the true grey color you will have to bleach your hair to at least pale yellow for the grey to be visible.

Hi Im a male with thick hair that is now salt and pepper but mostly salt what do you recommend to turn the salt or white to a nice grey darker. Thx

Asked by: anthonyg
I'd say keep your natural salt and pepper, if you feel like you need a change however, if anything I'd go with a demipermanent deposit only color. If you find a pepper color you like, go with that. Just make sure to really check out the undertones in the color you choose. Some dyes are made to counteract the natural yellow tones in pre lightened blonde hair, with blue or purple undertones which will be noticeable on white hair where they would not be on previously blonde hair. I wouldn't reccomend trying to lighten your pepper hair, then you'll be faced with trying to balance out the color the grey lightens to, along with white hair in order to go white, it'll will be tricky. Most dyes that allow one to achieve white hair are again blue or purple based, made to counteract the yellow tones that come up in lightened hair. If you wanted to go brown, however that would be more easily achievable without so much worry with the undertones as in the silver grey colors. Brown is red and green, mostly red so if you decide to go brown, go with a warm brown. Especially if your hair is mostly white as it will be lacking that red pigment brown is mostly made up of, without enough warmth brown can look green.

I had Chrome highlights done today and it was a Chrome color after it was blow dried . After the stylist used a flatiron to style it but my highlights turned gold. Was it because the iron was too hot and caused the Chrome color to turn gold

Asked by: Jennyboo
Yes. Heat strips away the color that was just added. You are supposed to wait at least a day after you are done dying it, to apply heat.

Should I bleach my hair first for chrome silver gray hair results?

Asked by: Pball1955
Yes, for your hair to come out silver you would have to go like platinum blonde. I bleached my hair to like a meduim blonde had some areas like lighter also. Lighter areas came out silver(love the color) and as for the medium blonde part It didnt take color well sooo yes try to get your hair as light as possible.
