Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! I was trying to go from blonde to black without it fading and turning a muddy color. I used the warm Brown and red red mixed. After that I used megasilk red semi dye. Then I used dark and lovely dye in the shade natural black and it has stayed fairly dark and not discolored over several washes and even chlorine pool swimming! This stuff is great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Plz help I am in the muddy stage now. I had it blonde for a while without doing anything to it and I decided to go black so I bought a box dye and it faded into a blue/gray that I HATE. How can I dye it back to black without it fading away like that? Please help.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lifesaver!! I had my whole head blue for 3 years. I finally wanted to try something different. I wanted to go back to my almost natural which is a medium brown with some blonde highlights. Long story short after paying for 3 sessions, I ended up with mud colored hair with greenish highlights. I was devastated and absolutely hated it and had no idea what to do and definitely didn’t want to go back to the place. Thank his for google because thats how I found this. I decided to do an auburn color since it’s fall and mixed half of the bottle of this color filler with my hair dye and it worked like a charm! Not even a sudden hint of green anywhere to be seen. Love the results. After over 200$ wasted, I spent 5$ on this bottle and 14$ on hair dye for something I actually love. Definitely recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have for very porous/damaged hair I use this before each coloring because I had bleached blonde hair and it is very porous. So going from blonde back to brunette, you have to fill the hair so it will hold the color. Works great, and I get a very even color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved me! I got a little overly enthusiastic with a Revlon Frost and Glow Kit - I wound up with orange/brassy blond streaks throughout my dark brown hair. I used a medium brown semi-permanent color to try and cover it and the "highlights" turned green. I then used a blue/red based toner in level 7 to try and neutralize the green. Was left with some green, but mostly really light blonde and orange uneven stripes. In googling solutions, I came across Protein Color Filler in warm brown, which promised to neutralize the green. Amazing product - it got rid of the green and left me with beautiful, dark blondish and pretty red highlights. NO BRASS! I washed and dried my hair until it was a little damp, applied the filler with gloved hands, covered it with a cap and left it on for 45 minutes. MAGIC!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing little miracle! My highlighted hair was turning a hint of green every time I had dyed it a golden brown. Bleach stays forever unless you either grow it out or cut it off. But sometimes I wanted to add warmth to my hair so I dyed it a warmer brown. No matter what undertones in the dye I used, it would always turn my hair a greenish color. So I heard about this little miracle bottle and now every time I dye my hair I dump half of the little bottle ( in warm brown) into my hair dye. No green whatsoever!!!! In fact, it actually looks professionally dyed. I love it,and will never be without it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasantly Surprised My highlighted hair was becoming brittle and tangly and not quite the shade I desired. I use purple shampoo biweekly but wanted to try something else. I left the #3 platinum on damp hair for probably 25-30 minutes. While brushing it out I immediately noticed how much smoother the brush went through and the next day when I properly washed and conditioned, I could see how much the color had changed as well. I have more of the ash blonde I was wanting!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect For Red Heads !!! I just had to write a review about how much I love this stuff. I had my naturally platinum blonde hair dyed red professionally about five years ago, and had no idea how quickly red faded. I found out the hard way! I am a novice at hair coloring, and went into Sally one day to ask about what could I do to refresh my red, and this protein color filler was recommended. It has worked miracles! Fast forward, now I'm going through chemotherapy, and during treatment cannot get my hair colored. Between the chemo thinning out my almost waist length hair, and it looking so dull, I'm not real happy lately. My blonde roots started poking through, it's been over three months since my hair was colored, and I remembered this red-red filler. Washed my hair with my anti-frizz high end shampoo, poured this filler throughout my hair, starting at my center part and around my hair line, left it in for about half an hour while I continued my shower, then rinsed out with lukewarm water, and applied my anit-frizz high end conditioner for about another 15 minutes. My red hair is now shiny and all curly, and somehow seems a bit thicker, yay! Covered my blonde roots very well, I can postpone coloring it again, I just don't have the strength lately, and I've been trying to color it myself now that I got divorced, and he's not paying for the salon anymore! Thanks for all the reviews, I did not realize you shouldn't use protein products more than once a month. I am planning to mix a bottle of filler into my liter bottle of conditioner, just to keep things fresh. I'm no hair expert, but this really works well to restore fading red hair, I love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! Bleach blonde to dark blonde I’ve been bleaching my hair for YEARS! It’s become such a chore and I’ve gotten lazy and over bleached spots while doing my roots. It’s cause me to have breakage. Also, my hair is so damaged from the flat iron. Basically, it’s time to give it a break! I asked a stylist for help and it was going to cost a small fortunate. I decided that if this didn’t work out, I’d just pay for it but the savings would be worth trying. I did a lot of research and read that I needed a red protein filler (never heard of it). Anyways, I put the filler on the bleached part of my hair trying to avoid the roots. After a few minutes (basically the amount of time it took me to mix the dye up), I added the dye (6N/611). At this point I looked in the mirror and it scared me! My hair was PINK and then turned dark red after adding the dye. I almost cried. I let it sit for about 18 minutes and rinsed it. It was the exact color of my roots/eyebrows. So happy with this product!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZINGLY GREAT! I went from a damaged bleach blonde to a rich chocolate brown!! I’m in love! #10 left in for 20 minutes, then poured the remaining filler in the dye mixture (one n’ only 4 ch). I was skeptical but it came out beautiful!! And saved me hundreds of dollars I would of had to spend in a salon. So happy :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! This is def a must try for those of us who bleach at home. I’ve tried every current brand of toner at Sally’s and the best has always been Blond Brillance in Platinum. ALWAYS after bleaching or doing a bleach bath I’d still have alot of gold/yellow/orange tones in some spots. After months of experimenting with diff toners I decided to try this stuff. I mixed half a bottle in with 4oz ageBeautiful Silver Ash Blonde plus 4oz 10 volume developer. Most of the yellow/gold areas of my hair have finally changed to an ashy/grey tone. After one use. The bottle has three different ways to use the filler printed on it and I’ll def be trying those and experimenting much more with this product. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helped my hair and toned This product was a life saver for my thrice bleached brown hair. I noticed a change immediately in the overall health and tone. I paired it with a keratin conditioner and let it sit in my hair for about 40 minutes. Life.changing. My hair has gained its elasticity, it’s ashy not brassy, and looks so much healthier. I’ve already bought more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Platinum to brown - No green/Feels healthy! I was going from a grown out platinum/white blonde to a natural, close to my root color brown. I read up on how to do it and every site basically said red protein filler was the way to go. I was really scared because of how pigmented the color of it looks, but it wasn't nearly as scary as I thought. I did strand tests before I did my whole head with and without the filler and surprisingly my 7N+7NA dye (demi 1:2 ratio w/ 10 developer) did not turn green or off color on either strand (about the same result). However, the hair felt much more healthy, less dry, brittle etc after using the protein treatment. I would definitely use this again during my dye jobs to counteract unwanted hues, or just for the health of the hair. I'm super glad my hair didn't turn green as the 7NA contains ash tones. I much prefer ash to warm, and I quite like the tone I got. It's a bit warm in sunlight, but in natural light it looks like it grew straight from my head. I applied one whole bottle to my hair dry (since it's long) and then applied the dye right over the top. The color is also super even, and not blotchy or patchy anywhere that I can tell. Super pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent I had blonde highlights as well as my hair being a very light brown. I used the Warm Brown and then dye my hair back to black and it looked fantastic. You couldn't even tell my hair was ever light brown with blonde streaks. And it help the black dye take alot better in my hair.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did this make anyone else's hair fall out? My hair started falling, much more than it ever has before. I couldn't think of a likely cause, then I realized it started after I had started using this product. I quit using, and shortly after it stopped happening.

Ignore the answer above, you will need a gold color permanent hair dye for your filler!

I had my hair professionally bleached roughly two months ago. Its a light goldish blonde. I would like to dye the underneath black. Which one should I use as a filler?

Asked by: Katherine516
I wouldn’t use any of these. I would use the Neutral protein filler.

Hiya i was bleach blonde and put a light brown on and ive got a dank greeny brown could i use this n then put a medium brown on top

Asked by: Dannika18
I'm not a color expert then only thing i use this for is to refresh my auburn hair color i mix it in my conditioner bottle and keeps the red from fading. But i would ask a color expert before i made my next move with your hair you can call 1-800-CLAIROL and they can answer questions i been using their hotline for decades. Or you can call a local salon that does colorings and ask for advise most don't mind answering questions like that over the phone. Good Luck !

I would use the red if you are going for a warm brown, or the brown if you want a more neutral brown.

So I just dyed my hair radiant black raspberry but it came out looking my of a dark purple. Can I add the warm brown or red filler to bring out the black?

Asked by: Rachel26
Adding it now won't help because your pores right now are filled with the radiant black raspberry dye. If you still want this colour, I say when that dye is out of your hair, fill your hair with warm brown beforehand. You can also try red, but since black raspberry sounds red, you might get too much red tones.

My hair was a light ash blond and I put a toner that made it dark and I want it back to like an ash blond ... which one would I use ?

Asked by: Jessica11L
Don't use this...this is a filler that is used for filling hair to prevent off tones when dying darker....the toner may fade...otherwise you would use a color remover to get it out.

I’m trying to go from a faded purple/silver back to my natural brown, would it help?

Asked by: Nalalxxx
Use a protein filler before you use dye to go back to your natural color to prevent off-tones...when you bleach your hair...you know how it goes through stages to get to super light blonde? well you need to add those back. also you can use this and then use a semi permanent close to...but a shade or 2 lighter than your natural color because your hair will absorb that color and will turn out more close to your natural color...if you use one the exact same color as your natural color it will be a shade or 2 darker than your natural color. so to prevent that you use one that is a shade or 2 lighter.
