Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice for dark hair. They sent us an incorrect color but my daughter didn't mind and used it anyway. The color is pretty visible on her dark brown hair without having to bleach first.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely love Flare me dark “knock em dead red”. I have tried so many colors trying to find this one certain color and look. I have dark brown hair so decided to try the hair color for dark hair. I’ve tried at least 7 colors looking for “the one”. I had almost given up, and tried one last time with knock em dead red.... and it was PERFECT!! I’ll never use another color again. Great color, great product. It fades sooner than any other hair color I’ve ever used but that says more about the fact it’s red. Unfortunately red fades faster than all other colors and requires being done more often. Definitely has nothing to do with product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Color is a joke I bought 2 red for my hair and ive colored my hair so much i know what im doing. I used product as it said and it only colored my hair a burnt brown orange! I am beyond angry. I do not recommend this brand what so ever. If it wasnt for my color depositing shampoo id be stuck for weeks with an ugly color. DO NOT BUY!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keep Calm and Berry On! This is my first time trying a violet color on my brown hair, and I love it! It is really beautiful but also most people seem not to notice that my hair isn't brown because I am on zoom meetings (so they assume lighting is bad) or my hair is pulled back with a headband for fitness classes. I used a 30v developer for this per directions and it worked well! It does not bleed after a shower either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flare me dark I absolutely love this color. Clairol flare me dark is so great. My color washes out so much less than some other brands and its beautiful. Thank you

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay product Got the berry on and used it with a 30 developer. I have extremely dark brown hair and it it mostly pulled out the natural red in my hair. It did show purple where I had lightened it though. Woul probably have stayed better if I didn't shower every night but considering that it's only been a week and it's more a raspberry plum than the purple I wantes

Hi is this hair die work on dark hair? I have dark brown hair and got red hair die from you guys before but I don’t remember the brand and it came out really bright even without bleaching my hair and I’m just trying to find it again.

Asked by: Ivori313
This dye is specifically for dark hair that doesn’t have layers of other dye on it. I use the violet shades and they are beautiful and hold well. Although they tend to bleed for many washes afterwards, it doesn’t fade at all! (Just a heads up for your pillows and towels though.)

What’s the difference between flare me dark and  the 6 rr

Asked by: Jen50531
The 6rr is reddest blond so it’s probably meant for lighter hair. The flare me dark is meant for darker hair so it probably has more brighter pigment and will show up better on dark hair. If you have light hair there is another product Clairol flare me light as well.

I know this is for dark hair.. but what would happen if this was used on lightened/ blonde/bleached hair?

Asked by: Cannibal Court
I have bleached ends, and I use the dark red color. On the portion of my lightened hair, it is lighter, and fades to look slightly orange. But it still fades nicely with the rest of my hair, in my opinion. But it definitely looks prettier on my darker hair.

Can this be used on previously colored hair?? Last dyed about 3 months ago

Asked by: Sierra6207
Yes you can dye over previously dyed hair. I have been dying over my hair for years and not once have I had any issues. When you do your roots though make sure you try and get the roots first and then go over the rest. If you do that you’ll be just fine and the color will look super bold again. I’m a natural redhead so I have to dye my hair once a month with this hair color.

Can I use this over hair that was dyed a few months ago with all natural henna? I’ve used chemical dyes over henna before with no issues. Thanks

Asked by: Rachikaz
Hey Rachikaz,if you can ensure that the henna you used is Body Art Quality and contains nothing other that pure henna (and perhaps other herbs like cassia - but NO metallic salts) then it will be safe to use over your henna. I have been hennaing for almost a decade and get my hair professionally highlighted and tinted at least a couple times a year. Pure henna will not react badly with bleach or dye.

What does it mean by mix one part of each? What is a part? Do I mix 2ounces of dye with 2ounces of developer?

Asked by: HaleyRamirez
When mixing hair dye you want your parts to be equal. So yes if you use 2 oz of color then you need to use 2 oz of developer.

How can I expect the color of keep calm and berry on to turn out on black hair?

Asked by: MIssSusan

I bought two medium red-violets and one medium mahogany and mixed the three together. Unfortunately, my roots took to the red more and the ends took more of the purple. If I use the red depositing shampoo would that help to cancel out some of the purple?
