Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST HAIR CARE PRODUCT FOR MAINTAINING COLOR I decided to change my hair from my normal dark brown hair color, as I haven't made any style changes in quite some time. I decided to bleach myself and for about 2 weeks my hair was orange, as I had to give it time in between processing. After I lightened it down 8 levels (the girl at sally's has been a great help) I then bought brilliant blonde ash blonde lathering toning purple shampoo. I used this product before I used wella t35 and t11 I didn't want to add more chemicals right away. I LOVE THE PURPLE TONING SHAMPOO! the 1st time I used it i left it on for about half hour and it left my hair a very light soft blonde, took all the orange and brassy blonde color out of my hair. it worked so well I waited a couple weeks b4 finishing with the wella color. After coloring I apply the brilliant blonde ash blonde lathering shampoo about once a week and it is extremely gentle on my hair, smells great and I absolutely love the color which is the platinum I was going for! Which means I will be not be coloring or bleaching my hair often as this shampoo is a miracle! if you didn't achieve the color you were looking for just look at the bottles and be sure you have the right product

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helped to eliminate the Brass! I had my hair stylist fix a piece of brown lowlight and bring it back to blonde. It was a quick fix With no time for toner. This product dramatically helped to elimate the brass in my hair to bring it more to a Neutral blonde until my next hair appointment. I will keep this product handy to refresh my blonde and eliminate the brass. I left it on for 1 minute (max is 3 minutes) and it was enough time to remove the brass without causing any color discoloration in my blonde hair. I absolutely recommend this product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works Great I purchased this after getting a balayage to keep brass away, I use it about twice to three times a week in place of conditioner and it keeps brass away and keeps hair silky soft. It's great!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a lot of product I loved this shampoo while it lasted! I swear I only got 3 washes from this bottle! Besides there not being a lot in the bottle, the shampoo does take the brassiness out of my blonde bleached hair.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nothing special *Pictures* The woman who helped me swore this was a miracle product that would get rid of the orange spots on my hair. I didn’t want to lift my roots at all so using Wella was out. I followed directions exactly and nothing happened. I tried again the next day and let it sit for 6 mins. It toned my blonde to a bluish tint and didn’t even touch the orange spots. After a wash my mid/ends look good but the orange is still orange. I was hopeful because this seems to have a blue base to combat the orange. No luck. Bottom is before, top is after.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than shimmering lights Smells way better and cleans hair better than shimmering lights. Works just as well, if not better, to tone down brassy tones.

I used blonde brilliance highlight kit. Although there is some blonde highlights my hair turned very brassy/orange. What is a good recommendation to correct the problem?

Asked by: lynnorear65
Go get toner put on to pull the brass out and then use this shampoo to keep it blonde.

My hair has been blond for years. Now im letting it go natural which is white white. The ends still have some light blonding. Very light but next to my natural color looks dirty. Will the Brass Color Correcting help this any?

Asked by: Mackster74
Be careful to cover ONLY the yellow, brassy strands and leave the white alone. I lighten my hair/roots every ten weeks to a dark golden/strawberry blonde. When I tried this, it toned the brassiness very well but my highlights(pale ash blonde) became a violet color like the youngsters wear as fashion colors. This is more potent than any other toner I've tried. May want to leave it on for just a few minutes to see how it affects your color.

Does this take out yellow color on my roots

Asked by: Meyer123
Yes, but temporarily. I use this every two weeks to tone the yellow.

Does the hair have to be COMPLETELY dry, or just a little damp since it’s being towel dried?

Asked by: haleysue917
Doesn't need to be dry. I shampoo, dab dry with a towel(my hair is porous and takes forever to dry), and apply this to damp, freshly washed hair. Works well.

What can I use to get orange hair blonde? I have naturally blonde hair but dyed it dark. I used color oops twice and it is a light orange color and won’t lighten anymore. What should I do?

Asked by: HannahND
You will have to bleach your hair. Toner will not lift color, and the orangey color you’re talking about is not lifted enough for a toner to even work. Color oops doesn’t remove ALL of the color, especially if you used a box dye.

Why does my hair have a purple tone to it?

Asked by: Vick_miguez
I was told by my hair dresser that you should only leave purple shampoo on for 30 seconds to a minute or it will turn your hair purple. Were you leaving it on for longer?
