Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked as it should I bought this yesterday, and I have to say I am actually quite impressed. I have about 3 feet of hair normal thickness my natural hair is a chocolate brown. I bought this because I had dyed my hair blue in December, then green in February, then purple in April, all adding color on top of color while just bleaching out my roots. The rest of my hair under the colors was bleached to begin with. I still had LOTS of green and blue in my hair and light shades of purple. I used this product AS INSTRUCTED. I did NOT put the product on my virgin hair or on my scalp like it instructs not to. The formula is thin which worked well to get it through my hair and saturate all of it. I did need to use 2 boxes to get all of my hair. I put the product in and set a timer for 45 minutes to achieve the lift I needed. I twisted up my hair into a bun and spot checked it every 10 minutes to ensure it was not doing extreme damage to my hair. I washed it out and used a purple shampoo to try and remove any brassiness. It worked very well leaving very little green or blue. It removed ALL of the purple on my treated hair and while it doesn't feel 100% healthy it was no worse than bleach. I would absolutely use this again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Color removal I brought this because I was trying to remove a color I put in, this product did work but it just wasn’t enough. You have to buy more than one box . It’s expense.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Never Using Anything Else! One box of Colorzap removed nearly all the plum purple from my hair AND lifted my dark brown/black roots in just 30min! I've never had any bleach work so well, and it did not leave my hair feeling matted or sticky the way most bleach does. I'm planning on using an Overtone deep treatment in purple to color it.

I had bleached my hair and then added blue and some purple I am now wanting it out I tried the home remedy but it lighten the top but that’s it my question is if I use color zap will it break my hair off

Asked by: Tanyabur
It definitely can. This mixture is alot like bleach, actually and can push the stain further in. Look up katie's direct dye fading method on google. Much gentler on your hair but it may take more than one application to get it all out. Blue and purple are hard ones.

Hi I would like to know what do to because my hair is natural black dyed my hair blonde bleached but I have just blue dye but is gone green. What do I use to get the blonde back

Asked by: Nisha Devi
If it was a semi-permanent color (no mixing) this will not fully lift it, but it will lighten it. If it's a box dye (you mixed the color yourself, it has added chemicals, oxidative) then the Color Zap will fully lift the color out, and leave you with a light yellow.

Does this remove direct dye?

Asked by: Ekail71183
I used it just last month to remove Arctic Fox “Purple Rain” from my hair. It’s removed all of the dye in about 15 minutes. My hair was right back to the color I bleached it to.

I have black permanent hair color . How many times would I have to use this product in my hair to get it out ? Is this the best one to use for black hair ?

Asked by: Susie0313
I think this is definitely the best color remover for black dye. It depends on how light you want your hair and how many times you dyed it black. If it was just one black dye then it probably will only need one removal and it’ll get it to a ginger. If it’s more than one dye of the black then probably will take two

Technically my roots are grey. I have been dying with permanent, Vidal Sassoon violet. Almost a black now. Can this remove the color? How soon can I color over with a blond? That was my natural color.

Asked by: Beaglemom
I dyed my hair red and then black. I wanted to bleach all my hair but I didn't want to damage it as much. I think this is a first step if you have a dark color. Mines lifted to an orange. It will remove dark color for sure. I left mines for 45min. I did it two times and it got lighter. I used bleach after that. A 20 or 10 developer because you do not want to fry your hair. I did this while letting my hair rest for 2 days in between and a lot of conditioner and hair masks. This will not bring back your natural hair color. You might be able to use a toner to match your natural hair color.
