Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bleach! I used this powder with the 35 developer to lighten my medium dark brown hair. I did cap highlights and within about 25 minutes it had lighten of course I got an orange color but it was light enough and totally even throughout to be corrected with toner to an ash blonde! All in all it’s now my go to bleach!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect platinum I have very dark hair naturally, this is the only bleach that lifts from shade 1 to platinum in one bleaching. I do not get brassy or have breakage, my favorite bleach!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Ever I’ve been going my own color and it lightening/ highlights for a long time. I thought I would try this product (new to me) as it sounded like the oils in it would be less damaging. Very unhappy with my results. Thank goodness I did test areas on my bangs instead of my whole head. The directions say 1:1 or 1:2 ratios for the powder and developer. I tried both- 1:1 had barely any lightening and it wasn’t a nice color at all. 1:2 was worse - it lightened, but to a copper orange. I’m medium to dark blond and it supposedly works on colored hair. This is going back for a refund. I’ve had better results with boxed hair color and 20v developers - I bought the 35 for this and UGH. Awful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast! Not 15 minutes after putting this into my hair, it had already changed.... Very satisfied with that aspect. I've never seen my hair change so quickly. My natural hair is brown/black. I had a little bit of left over bleached hair from last October. I used one package with 35 developer. My hair is chin length. One shower later Light copper tone as I expected. But over all exactly where I wanted it to be.... If you're planning on going blonde blonde make sure and use a brush (I used my hands) for a thorough bleaching. I however am going a golden brown color. So I'm good where I'm at ;) .. BEST OF LUCK!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from will lift all the way to platinum i have naturally black/brown hair and blonde brilliance worked amazing to lift my hair to the blonde i wanted. you must use their developer though! do not try with other developers, it will not work. i also like that their developer is oil based with coconut oil. helps minimize the damage. i used the 25 and it was a little strong but worked perfect. don't leave on longer than what it instructs. i really didn't need a toner after but i may try out their platinum toner to give a little bit of silver in the tips.

Can this be painted on the hair without using foil?

Asked by: Deziree777
Yes, the foil is for warmth to speed process and most importantly if you are doing highlights to keep the colors separate . If you are just coloring large sections or your whole head foil is optional

I bought the balayage lightening powder and ordered their developer but something happened and they couldnt ship it but I have 20 vol developer will it still lighten my hair im doing a purple balayage so I will end up just dying the lightened hair anyways

Asked by: Anonymous
I used 25 volt developer and it lifted 3-4 levels, so yes 20 vol will lift, but only to a certain level. If you are lifting more than 3-4 levels (dark brown to light blond, for example), you may need to lighten twice.

I bought the lightening powder and a different brand of developer call Ion sensitive scalp 30 vol. bright white developer, the guy at the store told me to get it. Will it still work with a different developer? And how much of it should I use? It’s 120 mL.

Asked by: Ashlyn20
Yes it will work, do a test stand. I slowly mix the developer into the lighting powder well until it’s a consistency of sour cream.  Lighten up you are beautiful ❤️

The girl at sally's told me to blow air on my hair while the bleach is in for a better effect, is this true? Or maybe it was the toner?

Asked by: Andrea24
Not true! It wouldn’t be possible getting an even amount of air... my suggestions to you are if you are bleaching stay away from direct air conditioning it can slow down the process.....

How do you use bayalage lightning powder?

Asked by: Gail5630
I use it to do a double process on my own hair, it really is the best lift, very little brass and my hair feels amazing. I tone with Wella Toner T11 with 20 volume and it looks great.

Looks like there are total opposite opinions of this lightener. This might be why... When using Blond Brilliance Balayage lightening powder, is it best to use their special devoloper (if so, why??) or can you use any brand devoloper for the same results?

Asked by: Holliwoodc
Yes!!! Their developer is created specifically for their bleach. I did an experiment on 2 strips of my hair, first using their lightening powder with My regular 40 volume developer, second, did a strip using their lightening powder and their developer.. the second worked really well. It is a bit inconsistent, but if I'd worked with thinner pieces I probably wouldn't have had that issue. Even over my ends, (which have been bleached, redyed a level 6, then bleached again,) there was no damage. Looking forward to trying my whole head in a few minutes!
