Rated 5 out of 5 by from will lift all the way to platinum i have naturally black/brown hair and blonde brilliance worked amazing to lift my hair to the blonde i wanted. you must use their developer though! do not try with other developers, it will not work. i also like that their developer is oil based with coconut oil. helps minimize the damage. i used the 25 and it was a little strong but worked perfect. don't leave on longer than what it instructs. i really didn't need a toner after but i may try out their platinum toner to give a little bit of silver in the tips.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well on virgin hair This product works well on virgin hair. I have super dark brown hair, and it works well with lifting my virgin roots. I tried using it to go over some orange and yellow pieces on my hair that a hair stylist messed up, and my hair didn’t change a shade. I recommend This for people wanting to go blonde with virgin. I wouldn’t use this for already colored hair.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Won't purchase again. I was happy when I finally saw balayage at sally's but after using this product I hope more comes out. This product has inconsistent lift, a difficult texture to work with, and destroyed some of my hair. I definitely recommend you do not leave it on longer than it says as the max amount, even if it hasn't lifted. Even when following the time instruction I don't like the texture it left my hair in.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't Work, Didn't lift at all! I stripped my hair and had this bleach on standby because I figured my hair would be orange. I was right and when I tried to use this bleach with 30 and 40 Vol developer I didn't get any lift what so ever. No color change, no change at all in my hair. I do have experience working with bleach and this was a major let down. What a waste of time and money. Had to drive to Sallys and buy Quick blue and it works like a charm. I have used quick blue and Ion with results. I left it on the max time of 45-50 minutes checking every 15 minutes. This did nothing!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Life saver !!! So I have been trying to venture away from this cheap off brand bleach that ever lifts right and damages. I saw somebody good things about blonde brilliance so I got two packets because I figured thick medium length hair I always need two. I was wrong. This bleach gets to be so thick yet creamy and it makes SO MUCH. It took my hair from deep dark blue having been dyed over five times to a white minty color with NO DAMAGE. Any other bleach and my hair would be gummy and breaking off, my hairs been done 60 times at this point and this little mirical has definitely saved some heartache.

How do you use bayalage lightning powder?

Asked by: Gail5630
I use it to do a double process on my own hair, it really is the best lift, very little brass and my hair feels amazing. I tone with Wella Toner T11 with 20 volume and it looks great.

Looks like there are total opposite opinions of this lightener. This might be why... When using Blond Brilliance Balayage lightening powder, is it best to use their special devoloper (if so, why??) or can you use any brand devoloper for the same results?

Asked by: Holliwoodc
Yes!!! Their developer is created specifically for their bleach. I did an experiment on 2 strips of my hair, first using their lightening powder with My regular 40 volume developer, second, did a strip using their lightening powder and their developer.. the second worked really well. It is a bit inconsistent, but if I'd worked with thinner pieces I probably wouldn't have had that issue. Even over my ends, (which have been bleached, redyed a level 6, then bleached again,) there was no damage. Looking forward to trying my whole head in a few minutes!

What's the best protein system to use before bleaching heavy hilites

Asked by: Sheacool
You could try Sally Ion Repare Reconstructive treatments. I use the one with the red bottle and the Repare moisturizing conditioner. They also have silver packets for intense protein repair for extreme damaged hair due to chemical processed.

I want to do a bleach wash is this a good product to use?

Asked by: Ashie0126
No. Balayage bleaches are super thick in texture. Unless you dilute it with extra developer. Try using regular bleach and dilute it to a foamy consistency, not too thick, and leave it for about 15-20 mins max. This will lift you to a caramel beach light brown. If It's too dark still, you can repeat this process after 2-3 weeks. To prevent damage I use the Ion protecting treatment. You add this to your bleach and works similar to Olaplex, but way cheaper.

I am wanting a balayage, but do not know which developer or powder to mix to get my dark brown hair strands to about a caramel without damaging it. What can be recommended?

Asked by: Carolina20
Is your hair dyed? If so you will have to strip the color out 1st. Bleaching, dyeing, applying heat to your hair will always cause damage. 40 vol depending on the condition of your hair will lighten you the most but is the most damaging, 30 will lift you 3-4 levels depending on the condition of your hair, 20 vol will lift you 2-3 levels, and 10 1-2 levels. When you say dark brown what level there's 1-5. My natural hair is almost black level 2 dark brown. You should see a professional, but if you insist on doing this yourself start with 20. Know that to achieve the results you want you will have to lighten to a level 8 and the slather on a demi color to neutralize and balance the hair color. Study this before going forward, try patch testing. Goodluck

I currently have light brown hair and I'm looking to get like an ashy brown/blonde hair color look. Would I need to bleach my hair? Or would these lightening creme help?

Asked by: Lily0101
This is bleach. To go from brown to blonde, you will need bleach- and toner. Wella T-18 saved my brassy bleached hair when nothing else did. Also, an 8a Demi will get you a decent medium ashy blonde after bleaching and toning, without any further damage. Don't freak when your hair turns neon yellow or orange lol.
