Rated 5 out of 5 by from Will use again and recommend Best lightener i have used so far . Was fast and easy, i did put coconut oil on my hair the night before bleaching but this lightener worked fast and my hair wasnt damaged after. My hair was colored a level 4/5 and this product lightened it in 35 min to a light yellow. A word of advice if you want good results, use coconut oil the night before and dont wash it out before you lighten. Dont worry the bleaching agent has no problem cutting through the oil. Use the 20 vol developer its going to be less damaging. Section your hair into 4 quadrants , i started at the back, apply the bleach to the mid shaft and then ends first. Leave the roots till the end or you will have hot roots that are white.I put a shower cap over my hair while timing it every 5 min i checked the mid shaft and ends. After 20 min i was getting to the yellow light yellow stage, i applied to my roots and kept checking, after 35 min i was blonde. My hair type is half coarse half fine with kinky waves on the top straight on the underneath and years of dye on the hair. If you do it right and dont just slap the product on your hair all over it works perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! This cream bleach was fantastic on my med. Brunette hair! Bleached twice, pairing with 30 vol developer and got very little damage. Only downside is that it's more pricey and smaller, so I barely had enough for both processes.

Can I use this on my arm hair?

Asked by: mariekkm
I’m not a professional but, I can assure you that it would cause severe irritation. Also, there’s really no need to lighten your arm hair, you’re better off just shaving them every couple days.

Yes it should be enough but make sure you buy a bigger developer. If you want multiple uses you might want to buy two though.

How much lightener should I use for hair a little longer than shoulder length?

Asked by: Kayl1244
It depends on the thickness of your hair. If you hair is really thick, buy two. If you have fine, thin hair, you will only need one. But generally to be safe, it’s always good to buy extra just in case.

My natural hair is pretty dark like a dark blond probably a 5 I want to use this on my outgrowth as my midshaft & ends are really blond. Can I use a toner if it turns out too yellow or orange. I like a really cool ash blond with no warmth no gold

Asked by: nblazer1
This lightener will probably lift your level 5 to a level 7-8. More than likely, you will need a toner to get rid of the underlying yellow tones.

My hair is a very uneven color from a failed attempt to lighten my hair. Will my hair turn out different shades of blonde or will it be relatively even?

Asked by: katiekat3
It depends on how light you are going? I do mine almost white and I have dark brown hair and only do my roots and they match every time. This is my favorite for platinum blonde hair and don’t use 40 developer. It’s way too strong and I also use the icy toner on occasion but not on a regular basis. Sometimes it’s better to wash with a clarifying conditioner to get all the built up chlorine out which turns your hair colors when it’s blonde. I also use coconut oil on my scalp when dying and I don’t think that makes any difference but it keeps my hair from frying.

I have cool toned darker blonde hair at my roots, with the bottoms a cool tone very light blonde. I am looking to touch up my hair during quarantine. Would this be a good product to try to blend my lighter hair color with the darker blonde?

Asked by: ttttttttea
I am not an expert but I can safely say, yes. A week ago I put high lights in my daughters hair. She is a dirty blond. However, I mixed with 20 developer so not to severley lift color. I was nervous but I we were successful! Looks great. Note: I did small ribbons starting from underneather/bottom of head and worked by way to top. Did about 4 rows across her head, maybe 5-6 ribbons across.

can you use black dye over the bright white creme lightener

Asked by: angelforever
Buy a color additive first. If your hair is too light you need to fill with a warm dark color before going black. Also use a demo or semi permanent color in case you change your mind later. It might fade faster than permanent but you can go back to a lighter color after it fades. It means less damage.

If  I do permanent color what else do I need?  Peroxide, or?  Thank you

Asked by: Anonymous
If ur doing permanent color the only thing you will need is the dye and developer. If ur using the bright white it’s normally to bring to a bright enough base to take a bright color (Like pink or reds for example) or super dark color (like blacks and blues) now if ur going from  an 8 or 10 in blonde to a dark color like 3 or 1. Pick a medium color and then ur darkest color. So if ur going dark it’d be ur bright white with either a 10 or 20 developer (if you do a 30 or 40 ur most likely going to fry and damage ur hair) then use a toner (if ur going for a bright platinum I would suggest T18 again keep the 10 or 20 developer) then if ur going a bright fun color it’d be that dye u choose. If ur going dark pick something that’s a shade 5 or 6 like a mocha or natural brown then u will do ur 3 to 1 color over that. Don’t use a color sealer until ur very last dye or else ur hair won’t absorb the color

This cream contains bleach ?

Asked by: Pena Marlen
It does contain a bleaching agent to be able to lift levels, though it doesn’t have as strong of an overwhelming smell as some other lifting agents. It still does need a volume 20/30/40 (though there are a few more, I’d recommend to stay between the 20/30 range, as 40/50 will severely damage you’re hair if you are inexperienced and 10 might not do the lifting you want. All is based on your current level though.) to activate the level lifting properties.

Is this actually a bleach or does it's just lighten your hair like bleach? My mom won't let me bleach my hair, but will allow any coloring as long as I don't use bleach. But I have black hair so I need to lighten it.

Asked by: Sjihaee1
I think your mom told you that you couldn't bleach your hair because she probably knows you won't get any color to show up in black hair. But This is the safest bleach and will lighten tremendously, but if its something your mom is super against, ask her if you can just bleach the ends and use a semi or demi hair dye for color as those do not use developer and won't cause any damage to your hair. and if your mom will let you try it get ION SENSITIVE SCALP 30vol developer, ION Absolute Perfection Booster step 1, a toner, a small bottle of 10-20 vol developer of the toner, and the new color your wanting. Mix the 30 vol developer with the bleaching cream in equal parts in a lastic or glass bowl, (metal can react chemically to any hair products) after that add the entire vial of the perfection booster to the bleach and developer mix. section your hair , use a tint brush to apply, saturate EVERY hair. (Watch youtube videos, Brad Mondo is GREAT, to know exactly what i mean by section and saturate) but some tips: put all your hair /foils in a clear shower cap, not a plastic bag. Bleach DOES NOT lather, it will only bleach where you put it. If you miss a spot you will know it. If it dries out it will not process anymore, to revitalize your bleach spray just one spritiz of water, I use an old liquid setting spray bottle i filled with tap water, since the lighting process is an endothermic reaction which means it produces heat, the heat from the reaction and a spritz of water in the shower cap will make the inside of the shower cap kind of moist and will keep the bleach moist adn working, you ca even add the one spritz of water right after putting the shower cap on as a precaution. Do not go over 50 min in one sitting, check your bleach level every 10-15 min when its at your desired lightness, shampoorinse, color seal unless adding color or toner then seal after that.

does the brand of developer matter? would it still work if i use a developer that isn’t the same brand as the lightner?

Asked by: ddee1231
You "can" use a different developer, personally tho, I wouldn't and don't. The brands make the different items to be used with each other. I have used Ion for YEARS now, I'm talking over 10 years now, I have done everything you can imagine to my hair and have never had any issues when using Ion. I've ONLY had issues when friends have done things to my hair. Mostly they'll use the color by ION but the developer is usually My Salon Brand or a really generic kind, hey I'm cheap to but with hair you get what you pay for, and boy did i pay for it I ended up getting a scalp burn that laste 5 years and eventually had to shave my all my hair off so it could heal. Also Ion has developer specifically for sensitive scalp, even if your scalp is hard as nails GET IT!!! you won't have any scalp burn, it comes in 10vol, 20vol, 30vol, an 40vol i know for sure. but they make their products to work together. Another good reason to stick to the same brand is also we don't know every little ingredient that is in everything and how those ingredients chemically react, and no body, who isnt in those respective fields, would know. So picture this, you use Ion brand lifter with my salon deveoloper, and some weird brand Toner. what if something in one of those items has a bad reaction with something else in one of the other products an by the time its all done your hair is muddy greywater gross shade, or so badly dmaged and dead it looks like over cooked noodles. so please use the same brand, also with bleach and developer ION speceficlly Ion Brand, purchase a few vials of Step 1 Absolute Perfection Booster, its super cheap and is like Oliplex (probabaly spelled it wrong) But Ion Brand, and only a couple dollars each, make sure you get a few of them and if used you will need to up the vol of developer you use.

I have about a level 6 virgin hair, and I have never done anything to my hair. I was wondering if this would be a good product to bleach my hair with.

Asked by: Stephen K
I’m pretty sure it works like a bleach, to bleach you need a toner, DO NOT BLEACH AGAIN, bleach will not make you blonde, it makes your hair brassy and orange, I’m pretty sure you need a toner afterwards, I’m not in any way a professional though.

I have dark brown hair about shoulder length, i want to achieve a darker purple hair color...i'm just confused on what i might need to mix this developer with to get my hair light enough so the purple will stick and show vibrantly.

Asked by: grace399
As this item is bleach, you'll need to mix developer with it, 10 vol will give you a lower lift which would probably be suitable for the color you want to put over top. 20 volume will lift higher and you would be able to use a brighter/lighter color if you wanted after the purple.

Do you leave the lightener in for the 50 minutes starting at the time you started to apply or from when you stopped applying? And is it supposed to get really warm?

Asked by: Boymomma2
The time starts the moment you apply it to that section of hair. It does get warm especially if you are using foils to incubate the product. It can also get really warm if there is a chemical reaction with any other dyes or previous chemical on your hair, hair history is important. It can also be from you mix matching developers, always use the dedicated developer and bleach. Always go to a professional when doing any chemical service. remember its cheaper than going after the fact for a color correction. Hope this helps.

Asked by: Jennisun22
1:1 is very strong. The more developer you add (ie 1:2), the less likely you are to burn your hair off regardless of how quick you are. If you need to use 1:1 for it to work, do NOT use same mixture to brighten up the lengths.
