Rated 5 out of 5 by from ION Hair Whitener I bleach my hair and this is the best hair whitener I have ever used

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I miss my virgin hair! Lightens fast but lots of hair falls out. I wish I used olaplex with it to see if it would of helped. Started from black long hair and wanted white/silver. Hair hasn’t got there yet and I went to 2 salons and they would only put hair gloss in my hair and didn’t wanna touch my hair. I hadn’t dyed my hair for 10 years. The color it’s at now makes me miss my natural color. Go to a salon if you wanna bleach your hair unless you have short hair because my husbands turned out fine. Pray for my hair in Jesus name !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE LOVE LOVE I just used this last night and I love it! Way better than the powder, my hair isn’t dry , none fell out , and was very pretty! I went from a medium brown to platinum. I’m doing another application because I only kept it on for 30 min instead of 50 because I was scared of the effects . I used powder bleach and have had bad experiences, but love this, can’t wait to use again!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lightener not in stock online order This white creme lightener out of stock & was not included with my order. Can't rate honestly so 1 star. Payment adjusted. Ordered to lighten purple color dyed bangs done by salon. After trying home remedies (bangs turned green-blue), purchased another Sally's product (Blond Brilliance Lightener Kit) & it did work after 2 applications. Easy to use & happy with result.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really great lightener So i had black box dye in my hair and wanted to get to a pretty light lavender. I picked this up and the ion color remover, which didn't really help, a 20 volume developer, and a 30. After the color remover my hair was still pretty dark. Si i started with this and the 20. It lifted to orange. And against my better judgement i bleached a second time with the 30 volume right as soon as my hair was dry. I couldn't walk around with orange hair for 2 weeks. I probably should've started with the 30, but whatever. I got my hair to a pale yellow and the lavender picked up beautifully. After the second bleach, i was afraid. My hair felt tanglely. But once I conditioned it and dried it, it feels great. It's softer and smoother than before. It's damaged for sure, but nowhere near as bad as I expected or as it's been in the past after 2 consecutive bleachings

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing product! I recommend this cream lightener to everyone who asks about my hair! It lifts so many levels, my natural color is almost black and I’m able to get to platinum blonde with minimal damage. You can’t escape damage with any bleach product but this one I feel is the most gentle I’ve used. I love the way it mixes up and applies. I use with other Ion products and just can’t say enough how much I love it! I lighten with using 30 developer and use it to tone with Wella with 20 developer.

I didn’t finish my bottle of Ion Creme Bleach. It hadn’t been out of the tube or mixed with developer.  Can I save the rest for later ?

Asked by: Sasha Be
Absolutely! as long as it's not mixed with developer/still originally purchased product - same goes for any developer you may have purchased

Someone bleached the top of my sons hair. Well I told him it would turn out orange and it did. I bought the ion bright white cream lightener. How long should I leave it on?

Asked by: Christymayhall
Your best option is to do a strand test. Follow the mixing ration on the tube (it's either 1:1 or 1:2) and make only a small amount like 2-3 tablespoons. Apply this to a strand or small section of his hair and check it every 10-15 minutes until you get to the right level of lightness. That's how long you need to bleach the rest of his hair. (If you don't want to do a strand test just check it every 10-15 minutes after applying.)

My hair is just above shoulder length and is kinda semi-thin. It’s not too thin but I also wouldn’t call it thick. Is one bottle of this enough to lighten my entire head or should I get a second tube?

Asked by: kaylee88
Oh one tube should be plenty!  My hair is super short, and I only use 2 Tablespoons

Asked by: Katnip602
First, I can assure you that your refresh will blend and your hair will maintain a consistent color!   In this case, pure white.  I do use shampoo that is specific for this color hair as well. I really like these products they work well!

I have green/blue hair and I’m dying to get this stuff out, would this help at all????

Asked by: Juliana98
It's bleach, so it will help as much as any other bleach. Depending on the brand and shade and how faded your green/blue is, bleach might make it deposit deeper into the hair and harder to remove, sometimes impossible. Google ways to remove semi-perm dye without bleach (I've had a lot of luck mixing clarifying shampoo with bleach powder and NO DEVELOPER, lather into hair and process until color is very faded, usually about 20 minutes, then rinse and use more clarifying shampoo, repeat if necessary). Always strand test to avoid melting off all your hair, I know whereof I speak.

Dark brown hair, usually foil to platinum at a salon. Roots about 3-4 inches so I bought this product (powder version with 30 developer) with Wella toner T18 with 20 developer - should I apply this lightener to my roots only, then use toner all over?

Asked by: LoLesLinc
Yes, lighten the roots only. Over use of lightener on already lightened shaft will cause damage. Your toner can then be used all over. Be sure that roots match shaft or toner will be uneven. If shaft was previously toned, you may have to strip the toner by applying the lightener to the shaft for a short time. You want the color even before doing your toner.

It says you can mix 1:1 or 1:2. What’s the difference?

Asked by: 1kevynrose
It means you can mix it with 1 portion of the creme and 1 portion of developer or 1 portion of creme and 2 portions of developer. The 1:2 ratio will be gentler on your hair than the 1:1 ratio, but also may not lift as much color as the 1:1 ratio in a single session.

can you use this for really dark brown hair

Asked by: ramram123
I have dark brown almost black hair. Been bleaching for over a decade now. This is bleach gold. But be very very careful. It will lift to a light enough color that can be toned over. It works super quick so you need to be as well to avoid over processing. I don't even have to use a 40 developer anymore, this allows me to use a 30. Definitely test it first though.

About 5 mnths ago bleached entire head. Upon application it was itchy, burning my scalp. She told me that's normal!?, Hair was fried! gummy, breakage . Then put level 3 dark on roots and purple on ends.Would this work on to on me? Want to go platinum all

Asked by: Tabby624
I would suggest using a different bleaching product. They really should take this off the market. I have been coloring hair since 1998, and I used this several times since they stopped making Clariol Seventh stage. They told me this was the closest alternative product.  It also burned my scalp (which it should not) and over time has cause severe breakage for me as well, which I have never had happen ever before. Please talk to a hair dresser, the people in the Sally’s store are not always educated on these products, and a trained hair dresser knows best. Best of luck to you.

What can I use to fade-away hair color that came out too dark. I don’t want to remove it, just lighten it up.

Asked by: Lindareb
If it's a direct dye /semi permanent color (anything that doesn't use a developer), you can do vitamin c washes! Just look it up online, there's tons of youtube videos about it! :)

Would this product or another take the yellowish/brassiness out of my naturally white hair?  I already use purple shampoos and try to stay away from hard water, but white hair is difficult to maintain or sharpen up!

Asked by: kirene123
No this will not tone, it's only a lightener. White is hands down the hardest color to maintain. You either need to tone, or use a temporary fix like purple shampoo/conditioner, or an after shower rinse like the ones by La Roux. They have one to help keep hair white, it's the only thing that worked for me when I had white hair!

I have dark brown hair colored red last week can I put this all over to lighten my hair then put a lighter red? I have grays.

Asked by: Yosie0721
If your hair is red right now it will be very hard to get all of your hair to a true blonde. So if you want it to be blonde you should get toner too because you hair will have spots of orange or a color like that cause red is a hard color to make blonde

How many short hair, full head applications does the tube contain?

Asked by: TracerRacerX
It depends on what you use to measure. I use the purple scooper that comes with the ion powder lightener. I do one scoop of bright white with 2 scoops of developer. Also depends how thick or thin clients hair is. I would estimate 10 services for short hair 5 for long.

I have dark blonde hair is it safe to say that my hair will be blonde with no red tones? Please help, I am desperate! My bff gave me that nickname in h.s it's all I could think of

Asked by: Man eater
When you bleach your hair, you strip out all color, which is why you need to tone it afterwards, so you will have no “tones” left. So you will just have to be careful on which color toner you use afterwards. If you don’t want red tones, stay away from warm base colors, and stick to cool bases.

Would you use this cream instead of using a bleaching powder?

Asked by: Sortamexican1
No I'd use a bleaching powder. For me it was hard to get exact measurements with this. I felt like I was either using way too much or not enough. After I tried this I went back to quick blue but this cream bleach is a good quality product so if you can figure out how to get 2oz then go for it!

It will most certainly turn orange or yellow. You can get a light brown but you will have to use a demi or a toner after the lightening process.

You need to use a decolorent first that will remove the artificial color. Sally's has a non damaging one..some can fry your hair but that one is gentle, sounds like it would work for you to get a place to start getting an even color.

Asked by: chelej40
Please don’t use 40 volume with bleach, your hair will have a great chance of falling/melting/breaking off. If you need to make it lighter just repeat the process for 30 mins with 20 volume developer or lower. Good luck!
