Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazingly even lift - so easy to spread I have virgin black Asian hair and this lifted me in one process to a level 8-9. My hair is almost past my waist in length, and I only got 2 bottles, so I ran out of it towards the front of my head and had to use the Wella powder bleach I had as a backup. OMG the difference! I ended up getting some splotchiness on the front that was completely absent from the parts with the ION bleach. I think because it's a cream lightener (I mixed it 1:1.5 ratio with ION 30 Developer, 20 volume on the roots), it's super easy to spread and penetrates sections and saturates really well. I used foils, but even without them, this doesn't dry out like powder bleach so it will KEEP lifting instead of drying out and just damaging your hair with no lift. It also smelled pretty non-offensive for bleach. Really impressed with this. I'd say for normal thickness + very long hair you're going to need like, 4 bottles to truly saturate your hair well though. Amazing stuff, I already bought more to touch up my roots in the future.

I dont know about this product. i followed the directions and measured everything. parts of my hair turned white the rest a gold blonde. from a dirty blonde.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Gave me an allergic reaction I’ve been coloring & bleaching my own hair for almost 15 years. I’ve never had any adverse reactions to color or bleach until I used this product. My neck & around my face became very red and splotchy. I didn’t even know it was possible that your ears could become swollen until I used this. My hair lifts very easily, & I used this with 20 volume developer. I’m throwing the rest of this bottle away. Neverrrrrr again!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great Works great and bleaches hair fast. I prefer powder over cream bleach because it’s easier for me to measure, but if you like cream this is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No complaints I really enjoyed this product. I think it did a fantastic job lightening my hair (I used the dedicated developer with the lightener in 20 volume). My hair lifted really well using this system & I really have no complaints & this will be my go to lightener from now on.

I usually color my hair in deeper reds (I’m naturally a dark brown) I want to to go to a vibrant red this time, but I’ve read where I need to lighten my hair first. Is this the right stuff for me? I plan to lighten and then permanently color my hair!

Asked by: Anonymous
If you were to use this, you would also need a developer. I personally found this very harsh and damaging when I used it. (It was with 20developer and a 1:2 ratio) You also don't want to go all the way to a pale blond as red pigments need something to stick to in your hair.

I have bark brown/black hair (Virgin) I recently cut it to shoulder length. I brought this lightner and 20 Developer. I want to lighten( full head)as much as possible to go a teal or emerald green all over. Do you think it will work?

Asked by: Nina Biina
Yes use small sections start from the bottom. You may have to do it twice. ion cream lightener is much more gentle than others I've tried.

Can I use this to lighten colored hair?

Asked by: Terrikrolczyk
Yes, however there's many factors to take into account. If your hair is colored black or brown it will probably turn orange the first time you use this. It's a process, do your research and never ever bleach your hair if you think it's brittle or damaged!

I have 40 volume creme will it be okay with this and how do I know to do the ratios properly I have shoulder lank hair and it light brown. Any suggestions ? I’m nervous to do it on my own

Asked by: Stardust01
I would strongly recommend starting with a 20 or 30 volume just because 40 can do some damage very quickly and easily. 20 volume for sure if you're doing your roots. I use a scale to weigh out 1 oz of lightener and then 2 oz of developer. You could also probably use a measuring cup for the lightener and just do twice the amount of developer.

So if i am almost back brown and use this like i would the powder on my thin hair it would turm it a yellow blonde and then do the toner or the shampoo and conditioner i seen u said it made yours back white

Asked by: Anonymous
First of all I am not a hair professional (just putting it out there)...but I do my own hair all the time!   I love this stuff.  It is not as harsh as other bleach products I’ve used and a good deep conditioner when all is said and done is a wise choice.  My natural hair color is a dark medium brown with a lot of red undertones.  So it is a process to get my hair to blond without the brasiness.  I usually will bleach it and then use wella  T14 toner or the blossom ion cream toner.  Then a few weeks later I’ll either bleach it all again or simply do a bunch of highlights (more light than dark pieces and coat the pieces I want to stay brown with conditioner). (using less developer in the mix so it’s thicker). Then tone again.   There is also a great product that is a conditioner that helps take out brassiness for the in between times of toning which is great because it reduces the gradient line that happens after repeated processing (again, not a professional and a professional knows how to prevent the processing lines).

I had my hair bleached in like January professionally. Am i safe to use this without huge risk of murdering my hair? Also should i bleach all of it?

Asked by: Harm2002
I have extremely short hair so in order to maintain my white hair I have to bleach my hair once a month. I've been bleaching my consistently for the past 12 years and shockingly my hair is in great condition but its also maybe because my hair is short and any damage can be cut off. I usually use 40 volume developer and it lifts really quick. But yes, it does cause alot of damage but you can help that by using the appropriate treatments after. I use African Pride Olive Miracle leave in conditioner and honestly that stuff is awesome. It helps strengthen my abused hair and helps it grow.

How much lightener should I use for hair a little longer than shoulder length?

Asked by: Kayl1244
It depends on the thickness of your hair. If you hair is really thick, buy two. If you have fine, thin hair, you will only need one. But generally to be safe, it’s always good to buy extra just in case.

Asked by: nblazer1
This lightener will probably lift your level 5 to a level 7-8. More than likely, you will need a toner to get rid of the underlying yellow tones.

My hair is a very uneven color from a failed attempt to lighten my hair. Will my hair turn out different shades of blonde or will it be relatively even?

Asked by: katiekat3
It depends on how light you are going? I do mine almost white and I have dark brown hair and only do my roots and they match every time. This is my favorite for platinum blonde hair and don’t use 40 developer. It’s way too strong and I also use the icy toner on occasion but not on a regular basis. Sometimes it’s better to wash with a clarifying conditioner to get all the built up chlorine out which turns your hair colors when it’s blonde. I also use coconut oil on my scalp when dying and I don’t think that makes any difference but it keeps my hair from frying.

I have cool toned darker blonde hair at my roots, with the bottoms a cool tone very light blonde. I am looking to touch up my hair during quarantine. Would this be a good product to try to blend my lighter hair color with the darker blonde?

Asked by: ttttttttea
I am not an expert but I can safely say, yes. A week ago I put high lights in my daughters hair. She is a dirty blond. However, I mixed with 20 developer so not to severley lift color. I was nervous but I we were successful! Looks great. Note: I did small ribbons starting from underneather/bottom of head and worked by way to top. Did about 4 rows across her head, maybe 5-6 ribbons across.

can you use black dye over the bright white creme lightener

Asked by: angelforever
Buy a color additive first. If your hair is too light you need to fill with a warm dark color before going black. Also use a demo or semi permanent color in case you change your mind later. It might fade faster than permanent but you can go back to a lighter color after it fades. It means less damage.
