Rated 5 out of 5 by from worked just as expected! ya'll this bottle is so big, i'll easily have it for another few MONTHS to use all of it. i used this to lighten from roughly a level 3 to about an 8! i then used arctic fox and my hair still feels so nice. i'm really glad i went with this and not a harsher product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this with ion step 1 and 2 I didn’t even need a toner. I left this on with 30 Vol developer on my roots for 46 min. Used step 2 after. I used it’s a ten on my scalp before applying the bleach and my scalp did NOT burn. I usually burn and gave scalp issues

Rated 3 out of 5 by from too much breakage. I went from box dye black hair to this in just two bleaching sessions at home with 30 volume developer and wella t18 toner. Im happy with my results but im not happy with how it left my hair. My hair was breaking everywhere and now its 5 different lengths. I've been using a bunch of hair masks since I bleached it a month ago but my hair doesn't feel any better. If you want to be blonde without having manageable hair , this stuff is for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much better lift than the powder. The creme is a much better lifter than the power. The powder only lifted my black hair to an orangy blonde. The creme lifted it to a platinum blonde.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best lightener ever Love this product so much more than the powdered lightener I had been using for years. It’s so easy to mix with developer and lightens quick. I love it and I’m never going back to powdered lightener again!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This was the opposite of what I hoped for... I'm sure there's a perfect way to use this where you lighten your hair AND don't fry it to garbage, but I've never found it. I originally tried mixing this with the 20 vol (stronger lift, but MEGA crunchy hair), and settled on only using 10vol developer for future processes. Unfortunately, it will BARELY lifted two shades in almost an hour of processing-- and it's still far too rough and rugged on the hair. This is not what I expected from "bright white" creme lightener, as after 2 processes, results were still a consistent yellow (starting from undyed, light brown hair). No amount of hair masks has made my hair combable since; if you have really fine hair or you're worried about frying it, this might not be the best choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Results! I have not colored my own hair for more than 25 years, but when the salons due to COVID, I decided to try it again. My best friend uses Ion products and I had good luck with their shampoo and conditioner, so I bought the bright white creme lightener and developer. It worked beautifully! I have very dark brown hair, so I need to leave the product on for about 90 minutes under a cap, but the results were awesome. I used a toner afterward to get rid of a little bit of brass, and it looks just as good as when I had it done at the salon. This will not only save me money, but is much easier to do at home now that visiting the salon is completely inconvenient and unenjoyable (at least where I live).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I’ll never use any other bleach again! Went from a level 3 brown to a level 8 blonde using it with 30 volume developer. I did one all-over application, then went back in with 20 volume developer on the roots and to touch up uneven areas. I will never use another bleach again! Amazing results and my hair lightened more than I ever could have expected with one application. My hair texture is still beautiful and soft too! I’ve never in my life had results this amazing with bleach!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Fast working but drying It lightens really fast which is good and bad. It burned the small side hairs. I had to do small sections and wash out immediately. Left my hair really dry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Magic! Incredible! I have red hair, about a level 6, starting to get a bit gray in the temples. I want platinum hair w/ a lavender cast! I have tried everything, NOTHING removes Red, just makes me look like an Orangutan, although they’re cute, my hair was not. And,my hair is long, below my waist. Everything fried my ends and it was 20 Developer! I got brave, just did this w/ 40 Volume everywhere! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE...hair is soft and silky! I did follow w/ Ion repair mask and leave in intense conditioner... This is truly fabulous! If you’re hair is dry or results are not as expected, consider what you did to your hair prior to this and certainly your after care! I can’t say enough! I’ve been trying for Platinum for 3 months in baby steps...wish I started here! Thank You! Thank You!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The ONLY Bleach for me! I've used numerous powder bleaches and had good to mediocre results with all of them. I started using this late 2019 to maintain an ombre and then lighten the ombre to the point I could dye it gray. I use it with the Ion developer and have always gotten INCREDIBLE results WITHOUT frying my hair off. Obviously it's BLEACH so it will compromise the structure of your hair. You need to have realistic expectations, use oils and deep conditioners, and let your hair breathe. At this point I've bleached my hair 4 times (over 3-4 months) with this, and I use it to maintain my roots. I went from Lv2 to Lv 8/9 in one processing (about 40min). I used Wella T18 cream toner to take it the extra mile after reaching lv9-10 because my hair pulls golden/yellow and I wanted something cooler.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The perils of online product purchases This is not what I expected it to be. A magazine article said to use a little bit when rinsing you’re hair after washing to get rid of yellow tones on white hair. This product requires a developer so it is really like hair color. Not what I was led to believe it to be. Also, the print in the instructions is so small, it is very hard to read. The tube I saw in the magazine article was small, so I ordered 2. What I got were 2 large tubes. A total waste of my money. At this point, I am not even sure you sent me what I asked for. I will not order online again from you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This stuff works wonders! I used this product on a friend with a 30v developer for 40 minutes and I'm honestly shocked. It was well worth the $12. His hair does feel a little dry, but that's what bleach does... Moreover, considering how much lifting there was, I'm really glad that his hair doesn't look/feel worse. 10/10, will use on my own hair.

Is this safe to use on pre-bleached hair... Had fried my ends.....

Asked by: Jessalynn1
This is less damaging in my opinion but any bleach is going to damage your hair. Make sure you aren’t using too high of a volume of developer.

I have reddish brown box colored hair.  I want to lighten my hair to silver will  this cream lightener work and what level volume developer do I need a 20 or 30? I am prone to grey hair a lot and have colored many times to cover my hair up over the years.

Asked by: Dawn3974
I doubt any lightener will be able to get you to silver from auburn box dye. Bleach or lightener is ment to lift natural hair and has a harder time lifting artificial dye molecules. Box dye is the most difficult. I would expect it to go orange the first round and maybe gold the second. Do a test strand beforehand. I would use 30 volume the first time, then 20. If you do the two sessions in a row, be sure to us a toner like Wella T18 for toning gold or T14 for toning orange to dark gold. Then, I would follow up with an Aphogee two-step treatment. You almost have to have virgin hair to go silver, but you should be able to get an ash blonde.

This is AMAZING!  But, I still need to remove some of my Red. I did 40 vol, 50 min.  How long until I can repeat on the Red only?

Asked by: KCdoc1959
You need to wait at least 2 weeks before you try rebleaching and do some serious keratin and moisture repair during that time. That level developer for that long is very damaging to your hair and this particular lightener is particularly strong.

My hair is a faded maroon/purple. My natural hair is a brown/ginger color. Can I use this to get the purple down to dye over it with a red or orange? I have long, very thick curly hair that is kind of dry.

Asked by: Millsteph10
Hmm. I would try a dye remover first and if that does not work you can use the powder ion bleach to do a bleach wash mixer.

Does this product actually have bleach in it, or is it an alternative? I am allergic to bleach so I have been unable to lighten my hair in the past, but it sounds to me like this could be an alternative.

Asked by: lilbitlow
I'm not a hairdresser, but I've got naturally curly hair ,I loove dying it mermaid shades and wanted natural alternative to bleach. Now this is not something that will not damage your hair and you definitely need to do an apple cider vinegar rinse afterwards to balance the pH in your hair and a deep conditioning treatment afterwards but I have mixed peroxide or developer with baking soda and suave daily clarifying shampoo, I was shocked at how much it actually worked to lighten my hair

My hair is naturally a med brown/ red. I've been dying it a for years, especially now that I'm greying more. I want to go a lighter copper. I've tried using lighter dye color and it seems to still go really dark. Will this work to lighten me up first?

Asked by: Tamjpjb1
Stylist: Color cannot lift color. Using a lighter box dye will do nothing but damage your hair. Every persons hair goes through the different stages of lightening, which cause different colors while being removed. EVERYONES hair will turn orange in the process of going lighter. Everyone’s. All colors, textures, or ethnicity, colored or virgin hair. During the lighting process at the orange stage you must still go longer processing for it to move past. I highly encourage you to look up the stages of lifting!

I usually color my hair in deeper reds (I’m naturally a dark brown) I want to to go to a vibrant red this time, but I’ve read where I need to lighten my hair first. Is this the right stuff for me? I plan to lighten and then permanently color my hair!

Asked by: Anonymous
If you were to use this, you would also need a developer. I personally found this very harsh and damaging when I used it. (It was with 20developer and a 1:2 ratio) You also don't want to go all the way to a pale blond as red pigments need something to stick to in your hair.
