Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! This stuff doesn't mess around! I have very dark hair that has been dyed numerous times. I've used powdered bleach, I've done bleach soap caps, etc. When I saw this at the store, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Before I applied, I coated my hair with coconut oil. I believe I used a 30 vol developer. Within 15 minutes on my strand test, I was amazed at the lift! Its formulated like a normal hair color, so it's thicker and easier to control. This stuff works!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product It’s true, doesn’t damage your hair that much and has a “healthy” feel afterwards. Does the same job as regular bleach. Does it lift 8 levels? Haha, NO. If you’re going for platinum you have to process your hair at least twice, given that I am medium ash brown natural. Over all great product that I’ll continue to use. DO NOT forget to mix it with developer, which is probably why the other reviews were so negative.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for free-painting or fixing patchiness! I needed a cream based bleach to handle going silver and maintain roots since powder bleach is a mess for that due to it swelling and causing unintentional overlap/bleeding. Being that this was the only one in stock at the time, I took a chance and was rewarded with really great results. Paired with a 20 volume bleach it lifted me at least 3 levels within only about 5 minutes, and I got my hair from a level 7 to an 11 within about 45 minutes. I wasn't thrilled with the $15 price tag, but being that it was BOGO, and the results I got, it was definitely worth the money. Damage was as to be expected with any bleach, but the conditioning agents added to this definitely helped with rinsing it out a lot easier than powder bleach typically is for me so props for that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved My Super Long Hair! A sales rep recommended this to lighten my dark blonde/copper brown ends since the top of my fine hair is previously lightened to pale blonde (from my natural dark colour). I wanted the ends to match the top part of my hair, while keeping the past-tailbone length of my hair safe from breaking. I mixed the Creme Lightener with 20 volume developer by Wella, left it on my ends for 20 minutes, watching the colour lift, and then washed it out, then toned it with Wella T18. There was not much breakage at all, only a few individual strands, and my five year old hair ends are still below my tailbone! The product does tend to leave hair a bit dry, which can be remedied with pure organic coconut oil. I also do NOT recommend brushing it while wet, nor blow drying on hot, because the damage that those create can be disastrous. Try to let it air dry as much as possible, don’t detangle until it is bone-dry (preferably with a seamless comb), and you will keep more of your hair. It might be an inconvenience to some, but you will have to end up choosing between keeping length/volume, or the vanity of attempting to have the look of a blown-out style at the expense of your hair health, which is exactly why I avoid “professional” blow-dries (which tear away your damp hair with the brush and burn it with the hot dryer).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing product for that white look! Ive been using this product to do bayalage on my own hair for over a year. I use the gentle 30v developer on my dark brown hair for at least 30 minutes. Immediately after I wasn't out I put a deep conditioner on and use it 2-3 times a week. I also use the generic shimmer lights shampoo 3 times a week to bring more blonde out and ensure there's no brassiness.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My favorite lightener Started using this after it was recommended by a friend who has bleached her own hair for almost 20 years. I use w/ 30 vol developer and it lightens my medium brown hair to ultra light yellow in about 30 min. It lightens enough that I don't need to tone, but I always do to get a nice "icy white" rather than "freshly hatched baby chick". Yes, it damages my hair a bit, but ALL bleaches damage hair! The difference is that this one causes the least damage among products I've tried and doesn't burn while it's processing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst mistake ever!! Got this was recommended as the best product out there... says will take 8 layers of color out on just 45 minutes. Yeah did that plus taking out 8 layers of my mothers hair!!!!!! This product is making her hair fall out! And of course no one is around to speak with at the company. Worst thing in the world!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Killed my Hair!! I was talked into this product when they didn't have my original bleach. The sales woman promised me it would take out ALL of the color, both the blue dye AND my roots. So, reluctantly I bought it and tried it. The recommended time was an hour, so that's how long I left it in for, and once we washed it out, barely ANY of the color was lifted, and lifted none of my roots. On top of taking away any color, my hair was like STRAW after I washed it out. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT UNLESS YOURE EXPECTING LITTLE TO NO PAY OFF AND

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SAVED MY LIFE I'm a hip black guy with a pretty large and puffy afro. i bleached my hair a while ago and attempted to correct out some of the bronze and red with some violet toner. Long story short, my hair got really dark and turned ash blondish with purple hues?? i suppose. Any way i bought this and used it 2:1 Developer : Dye and left it in for about 30 minutes. Not only did the purple die come out, but my hair lightened significantly and has very little bronze or red in it. For my hair, i was really impressed

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product actually works!! this is my go to bleach. mind you i have red hair and it is hard to bleach. ive tired so many different bleaches.... killed my hair... but once i tried this one :D it worked!! i was able to bleach my hair and dye it my bright ION colors i wanted. I would recommend this to anyone :) just dont let the bleach sit long.... plus what helped me is putting coconut oil in my hair 24 hrs before and just leaving it in when i bleached my hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING I had a really BAD dye job instead of her making me the dark brown/purple she made me red as the little mermaid!!! Then not only did she mess it up really bad I went to a salon and she got me to a dark brown/black and my hair was like rubber bands all stretchy needless to say my hair was 100 different colors...so a few months later I finally decided to just go back blonde. I used Color Ops and that got me to a dark orange and then I bleached it and toned it and it got me to a light orange like a strawberry blonde and of course I waited a week or two in order to give my head/hair a rest but then I went back to Sally's and got this cream lightener at first I was skeptical BUT THIS STUFF WORKS! It took me from a light orange to a light blonde and after toning it I got a light blonde/ash color. I finally have blonde hair again, plus my hair doesn't feel nasty or damaged or anything :-) I'm SO happy! NEVER LETTING ANYONE TOUCH MY HAIR AGAIN! (Lesson Learned)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful This product was recommended to me by an employee since I am trying to bleach my dark brown hair. I mixed the bleach according to the instructions and put it in my hair. It was evenly coated. I have patched where it worked, but it did nothing for the rest of my hair. It looks terrible. Rinsing it out was like trying to wash butter off of your hands with cold water, and I have residue on my skin (lower back, back of thighs, forehead, etc. Basically anywhere water from your hair touches in the shower). My hair feels like I put shortening in it. It is awful. There was literally no upside, and I get to spend my day tomorrow rebleaching.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My New Go-To Bleach This creme(cream?) bleach was recommended to me by a Sally's associate. While I felt that it was a bit of a rip off on the fact that the actual tube of bleach cream is barely half the size of the box that you buy it in (being a bad deal had nothing to do with the Sally's associate), it actually worked. Really well, at that. My hair is a natural level two(2) or you might even say one(1) on the "hair colour scale". But this bleach (mixed with ion's sensitive scalp developer) lifted my hair to a level 8-9 with only a 20 vol. developer! On top of that, it was with minimal damage. Obviously bleaching hair will result in some damage, but any damage my hair has suffered feels as though it is not permanent. I'm definitely recommending this product to friends. But, to others considering buying this bleach, please remember, just because others have a really good or really bad experience with a certain bleach, doesn't mean the same will happen to you. Always take other's reviews and advice with a grain of salt. Know your own hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sandy This product is absolutely fantastic, I have been using product from Spain for the last 30 years and every month the same agony and burning, then I tried actually going to a salon and the same thing. By accident this past Christmas I was visiting family in Westminster, Md. and went into the Sally Store there, and asked if there was a product that would eliminate the agonizing two step process I have been going through for 30+ years? and they said Age Beautiful, I didn't believe I could actually lighten my hair with no pain. It is an amazing product, if you starting to go grey and have to deal with two colors of hair just use Age Beautiful and it eliminates all the problems, Thank You Sally

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst bleach EVER This product is the worst! Normally 2 ounces of product mixed with 2 ounces of developer will cover all my hair. There was not 2 ounces in the bottles I bought. It did not bleach all of my hair like it should have. It took four times of shampooing my hair to get it all out of my hair. Plus conditioning my hair twice to make sure it didn't make it absolutely like the worst straw ever. I am now sitting with a deep condition in my hair to hopefully make it so it's ok enough to try to bleach with the ION bleach later. I'm so angry it isn't even funny about this product and I know that I cannot get my money back, but I want in store credit for this wasteful product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best bleach ever An employee recommended this to me and it is, by far, the best lightener I've ever used. I use it with a 20vol developer and I don't even need a toner. I have ALWAYS needed a toner before I found this lightener. My hair is not that dark to begin with (like an ashy dirty blonde) but this product leaves NO brass on my hair whatsoever. I just wash with purple shampoo and I'm good to go. Highly recommend this product--I will never use another lightening product on my hair!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Thick like brick mortar It didn't damage my hair BUT this is the thickest mess of stuff that I have ever used in my life. I thought that I could use this with a bottle but I was wrong. I got creme developer to go with it, mixed it in the bottle and it wouldnt mix up correctly. I even took a small amount of water to help thin it some, that didnt help either. It also didnt mess with the potency of the product either. This is meant for bowl/brush application, or possibly mix it in a bowl first and then pour it in a bottle if you are more comfortable with that. If I had gotten another tube of this and mixed it in a bowl, I am guessing that it would have covered my hair better but the parts that we did get covered pulled to almost white within 20 minutes. I used 30v developer with it. The only real con with this product is that it is so thick and sludgy. It doesnt look like it will be that way when you are pushing it out of the tube, but when it mixes it gets worse.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Miracle Product I can't believe how quickly this lightened my very dark brown roots. I used it with 30 vol. ion sensitive scalp developer, and it lightened in like 15-20 minutes to a medium blonde, which is all I am going for, and it has hardly any brass at all (which purple shampoo and manic panic get rid of anyway). I have used other bleaches and have never gotten my roots light so quickly, even using 40 volume developer. I will have to go buy like 20 more tubes of this miracle bleach. It's less damaging than other bleaches, but you should still pamper your hair with deep conditioners for several days after bleaching. I plan to explore the other Age Beautiful products, including their deep conditioner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blew Me Away! This creme lightener works wonderfully.. I have tried almost every lightener sally's has to offer & this one completely tops them all off. I have used alot of other products & was always left with some gold kinda orangey tones after havin the previous products on for max amount of time. Not with this though! this cut the time in half & lifted my roots pretty much up to white. The only down sides were i needed 2 tubes of it, one was only enough for the first half of my head[rootsonly] & another for the back. I was so used to needing 40vol to get my hair to lift past certain stages too so i used it with this & it acts superr fast. like lifting to white in only 10 min. so i deff. will be using maybe a 20 or 30 in the future most likely 20 as it recommends for on the scalp apps. but I have to say, wuz very impressed with this!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome I purchased this because I heard great things about it and that it isn't as Damaging as other lighteners. I had about 3 months of outgrowth of my natural gross dark hair, and it lightened it to pale yellow in 1 hour. The downside is that there wasn't enough, so the back of my head is orange and areas that i couldn't lighten, so i'm going to have to get a packet of powder lightener to do that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Never going back to powdered bleach! Ever! This is the best bleach ever! I love it! Finally I get to have my lightest silver hair without frying my hair. I've used powdered bleach which fried and damaged my hair... I'm currently sporting a mid short hair style to prove it. However the newly bleached roots using Agebeautiful bleach cream was a God send to keep my hair silver without damage. It will strip the color off in one step using the Agebeautiful vol 40 developer. I love it! I can't wait till I have four inches of newly grown hair to bleach it with this product and cut away the horrible final three inches of the powdered bleached hair off. I'm never going back to the powdered stuff... it damages the hair too much. This cream bleach doesn't. It leaves the hair silky smooth and ready to absorb the color dye... and on the same day. I love this brand. Again.. I'm not going back to the powdered stuff. The cream bleach does take longer for results but so worth it. I normally use the powdered bleach and leave it on for just 20mins to achieve my super light blonde hair in order to get the silver hair color. Whereas the cream bleach version I have to wait a full 40mins to see my medium ash brown turn to a whitish pale yellow blonde. The price is a bit too much for my taste but well worth it since the newly bleached hair feels a hundred times better than even my hairs natural hair color state. Anyways the 2oz bottle seems very little but believe me this tiny fellow gave me two applications and I have a lot of hair to cover. This is what I did. I used 2oz 40 vol (30vol if 40 isn't available) Agebeautiful developer with 1oz bleach cream. Mix them together. I then put it on my newly grown roots and left it on for 20mins, then I mixed 1.5 oz of $0vol developer from Agebeautiful with the rest of 1oz bleach cream and put that over the previous mixed bleach cream. I then waited another 20mins and then washed it all off. Use a baby shampoo to wash out any left over bleach left behind that wont wash off with just water. I make sure my hair is completely dry before doing the coloring/toning part. After the hair is completely dry, I mixed violet cooling from color charm with a 20vol developer from One n Only Argan Oil (it comes in a brown bottle with a black twisty cap) and leave it on the roots for 20 mins, then do a second application but for the whole head and leave it on for another 10mins. When washed out you got the wonderful silver hair but without the damage. :) I love it! Of course always end all coloring service with a good deep mashing conditioner mixed with Silver lining from Fanci-Ful. This will further close the hair follicle, making it silky smooth and kill off any remaining yellow in the hair. It will also make the silver hair look more natural, giving some low-lights and such. Over all, I can't stop touching my hair. You just don't understand...I finally found a bleach that won't fry, thin out or severely damage my hair to the point of making it stringy, gummy and beyond straw dry. Don't ever use bleach powder, use the cream... your hair will love you for it and you will get that bleached out blonde or silver hair you always wanted. :) Just make sure you get or use a 40vol or 30 vol developer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded Expectations. Seeing its flawless rating and reading both good and bad reviews for context, I bought two tubes today and used it on my neon yellow Manic Panic Electric Banana hair. I needed to lighten my roots and remove the faded yellow from my hair to dye it blue. I was surprised to see it was tonal, it has a slight blue tone. I add my own drabber anymore anyway, but I still love gentle tonal lighteners. It very quickly started to remove my Manic Panic and it began to tone much of the yellow tone in my hair. The only thing I didn't like too much was how thick it was. I added a little extra developer and let it sit for a few minutes, as I read in another review that it becomes more manageable if you let it sit. I ended up needing both tubes, but it spread well enough. It's more of a paste than a cream, and i had some trouble getting it out of the tubes, which are like modern toothpaste tubes. I noticed there was some air in them making it difficult to get it all out. I had to cut the back of the tube to get it all out by hand, but it really wasn't a problem for me. I wasn't really timing the application, but I'd say about a half-hour later my hair was platinum and ready for the blue. Perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good lightener! My hair is not aging but i brought it because its less damaging. This better than powder bleaches I don't have to pull my face away anymore when mixing. It got my hair light and doesn't smell that bad only a tiny bit. It doesn't have a strong smell like other bleaches. My hair is not too damaged but it still made my hair dry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product! I've used a few different powder lighteners before that all did their job & worked well, but I'd never used a cream lightener. I wanted to get some unwanted color out of my hair, & figured I would give this product a try - especially after I'd already tried AGE Beautiful's hair dye & really loved it. Wow! I was very pleasantly surprised. Usually when I use a powder bleach, even when I follow the instructions 'to a T', the consistency of the powder & peroxide can be a little difficult to work with, AND to get it to cover my whole head (and my hair's not THAT long, & somewhat thin as well). This product covered my head well, and was easy to apply & work with. Plus (for me anyway, don't know if this is 'normal') when I used it, it foamed up a little after a few minutes, which made applying it & getting it to cover my whole head a little bit easier, even. I followed the instructions very carefully, and what VERY satisfied with the results. When I've bleached my hair before, it got my hair a FEW shades blonder, but not quite to the level I wanted (and I didn't want to leave it on LONGER & risk ruining the structure of my hair). With Age Beautiful, it got my hair *VERY* blonde (like Marilyn Monroe, & my hair was med. blonde) in the time it was supposed to. My hair DID feel a bit dry after washing it out (but I think ANY bleach will do that), so I would recommend using a deep conditioner afterwards. Overall, I loved this product, would definitely use it again if needed, & will definitely recommend it to others! (Oh yes - and my hair's kinda thin normally, so after washing this out I definitely noticed an increase in how thick my hair felt! WooHoo!)

Yes you have to use developer, depending on the color of your hair. I have brown hair and I use 40 volume and it comes out perfect! You can add a little more of the developer, I added 1 to 2 and it still worked !! Love this product, been using it for 6 years.

I dyed my hair purple a few months ago but it's fading out weirdly and I want to go as close to white as I can. Is there any difference in time for that? I'm a broke college student so I can't go to a salon.

Asked by: Todoloco
I don't have any experience with purple but did go from a dark brown to white. Always best to do a strand test. Cut a a very small but close to 2" long section of the darkest color where it won't show and tie it together with string.. Mix a teaspoon each of cream lightener with 40 volume an apply part of it to the test. hair. After 30 minutes wipe off the mix and check the color. If not, the desired color, reapply and continue the timing up to 1 hour. If this still doesn't give the color you want after an hour, you will have to repeat the process. Buy a purple shampoo for blondes and wash and condition your hair with that the day after the first process. Condition you hair for several days (a week is preferred) and then repeat the lightening process. This is recommended because if you leave the lightener on for more than an hour at a time, you can do some real damage to your hair in terms of breakage and split ends. Good luck! Note: Once you have the color you want, continue to use the purple shampoo once per week as it will control any brassiness or yellow especially at the roots. It will also blend the pure white and lighten any yellow streaks if you didn't apply the creme lightener mix evenly. It also makes white look very shiny and natural.

NO! I use this product to lighten a dark blond and if I don't leave it on long enough (min 30 minutes) my blond has that yellow/orange tint, Buy a "purple" shampoo or conditioner ... any place sells it. Ask anyone and they'll know what to recommend. Hope that helps.
