Rated 5 out of 5 by from DIY Highlights The Radical Bleach kit works great! My hair is a darker brown, so I need to leave it on the maximum amount of time for my highlights to get light enough. My husband is kind enough to do it for me. ;0)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I’ve used this product since 05 Before this mixture was radical blonde it was Beach blonde and it is the same pre measured mix, which most the time since I’m lifting dark brown to blackish hair it’s important for me to know the mixture is exact. This time was the only time I’ve ever had an issue and it happened to be on my young teenagers hair so I’m definitely questioning the quality of the entire line of behind the zone products atm, which is disappointing bc I use a lot of their products. The highlighting cap is terribly flawed in this production line at this time and I do not think the mixture is correct either, too strong or not correct measurements. To begin with the hook is so thin now that I couldn’t pull the hair without it bending completely in (so buy an extra hook) then after ten minutes on there was a smell that wasn’t like anything I’ve ever smelled before. When I went to touch the hair to see what was going on it was so hot I dropped it immediately. Finally I was able to see that the blue on the cap was somehow melting or running off into the dyed hair turning it streaks of green.... the entire ordeal was just horrific, I was able to fix the childs hair and there’s no permanent damage, yet, it did take more money and an other trip to Sally’s with my embarrassed child riding with me with the cap on and looking like Bret Michaels daughter in the back seat. I am writing this for others as a warning, if I had not been doing hair since 05 I wouldn’t have noticed anything different with the smell, known that hair isn’t supposed to heat up to that degree with dye on it, known how to save it or how to fix it the situation could have been a lot worse. Maybe it was a bad batch or maybe they have finally made the product so cheap without any concern for the actual consumers, I am not sure exact what happened here.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from IT WILL KILL YOUR HAIR! Do not do it!! Do not get this kit!!! It is way to high of a developer and it will actually fry your hair. There’s no need to have this. You can simply get a 20-30 developer with a bleach cream or powder. Even if you have baby hair DO NOT USE. yes it will lighten your hair and yes it lifts fast. But it is not safe for your hair!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great at removing hard-to-remove color I had been using another color removing product biweekly for a few months with little difference (removing a box red color). One application and it removed more color than all the previous attempts. Highly recommend this product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Extremely strong, be careful I usually use the manic panic bleach kit for my very dark, thick hair but my local Sally's was out and only had this one in stock at the time so I tried it out instead. I only bleached the ends of my hair and left it in for less time than usual just to be safe, and it still fried several inches of hair beyond saving. With a few weeks of deep conditioning and care I managed to rescue some of it, but I will never use this kit again and highly recommend a patch test and very short bleaching time if you want to keep your hair.

I am new to bleaching hair and my hair is dark brown. I've heard that with darker hair types, they typically end up having a "brass" color. What kinds of additional products should I get to help with that?

Purple shampoo like Shimmer Light’s

Will this lighten up really dark roots without turning a rusty color?

Asked by: Tenngirl
Yes, but it isn't recommended for on scalp bleaching. You need to use a cap for frosting and pull hair through the cap. As far as the color issue, I have had very good results when using this product. I have never worried about or had it turn any color other than the lightest platinum blonde. Even on the darkest brown root areas. I would suggest to purchase a red/orange correction packet. This will ensure you have no orange or brassy tone after bleaching. You can mix it into the bleach mixture or I just put it into my hair right after rinsing, but before shampooing/conditioning. Good luck!

Is it supposed to look blue during dying process

Asked by: Kelly799
Yes. sort of blue - I've found all the bleaching products are dark to start. I wrap saran wrap around my head to avoid dripping. Hardest part is taking the cap off - go slowly.

I have brown hair with caramel highlights but I did with a at home bleaching kit with the cap. I want to add some strands of a lighter blond. Do you think this will work? So i like my carmel but I want to acheive lighter blonde as well

Asked by: Sonialicious
This will absolutely work. I highly recommend this bleach for just about any type of hair lightening, as long as you’re experienced enough to know your do’s and dont’s when it comes to high volume developers.

Can I bleach a lace front wig and what is the cap for?

Asked by: Lady1032
If it's real hair, yes~but if it not real hair I have no idea what would happen to it. The cap is for you to put on your head and use the pick on the other side of the stir stick and pull small strands of your hair through the small holes in the cap so your just putting the beach on those strands. I've never used the cap because I bleach my roots only. This product would be great to use at a professional salon with foil for highlighting. I use the brush and just do my roots because I'm a bleach blond. Never leave bleach on your hair more than an hour. But, you also don't want to wash your hair yet if you're still seeing orange or gold~it's tricky because if you leave it in too long your hair will break and it will look damage and fizzy. I never comb or brush or blow-dry my hair for a day or two after bleaching, I just scrunch it while it's drying and it has enough body to was and wear. THIS IS NOT FOR BLACK HAIR. Really lightens dirty blond and light brown hair nicely~love this product!

I’ve heard the having somewhat oily hair is good for bleaching as it protects the hair from frying. But the instructions say “clean, dry” hair? What do I do? Or does it matter?

Asked by: abbyg998
You dont want to wash your hair before bleaching it will actually hurt your scalp. The oils actually protect your scalp.... hope that helped!
