Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect neutral shade for mixing w/ warm shade Acc to my stylist you should always mix a neutral color w/ whatever warm color you choose for better coverage & results. Love this dark blond because it doesn’t intrude on my warm shade but enhances it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautiful color, just want a lighter brown The hair dye itself is great! Shiny and makes my hair feel wonderful. The color is still a little to dark, without going into the blonde shades, there isn't a lot of range in the lighter brown shades. Its either blonde or still a deeper brown. Ive tried a lot of hair color in my time and Age Beautiful is still one of my top brands.

My hair is currently red (3mo) over previously blonde hair (6mo). I tried covering the red with a box dye brown that matched my natural shade and it didn’t take the color. Will one of these shades cover the red and bring my hair to a dark chocolate brown?

Asked by: Joscelyn
Hello this is Roxy with Zotos Professional , for a darker chocolate brown I would advice a 5n if you can still see the red in your hair with 20 vol , if your hair has more cool hues then you can do a 5rb so you get more of the chocolate brown, hope this helps

I have 80% gray. I always use the 6nn but it comes out a little to dark. can I mix half 6nn and half 7nn with 20 volume and get a lighter color? I have an inch of gray regrowth. The rest of my hair has caramel highlights. I want to be all one color.

Asked by: Karen 1967
Hello this is Roxy with Zotos Professional, if you are trying to achieve a lighter shade I would suggest just using the 7NN with 20 vol , it will still give you great coverage with a lighter shade.

I have about 1-2 inches of stubborn gray grown in.  Haven’t had my hair colored since beginning of March so what’s grown out is light brownish red. I want a medium to light brown without pulling red. I was thinking 6NN and 20 developer???

Asked by: Jessica111865
Hello this is Roxy with Zotos Professional, a 6NN would be more of a medium dark brown , if your gray is stubborn try the 7NN instead with 20 vol leaving it in for 45 min, hope this helps

Hi this is Roxy with Zotos Professional, you can always try our 8nn since it is a level lighter than a 7nn so you can get a lighter result, hope that works out perfect

Asked by: Debl8875
Hi this is Roxy with Zotos Professional, our double nn colors are double pigmented and can come out darker so a 8nn would be darker than an 8n , if you have very resistant gray then go with a 8nn, hope this helps

I color my hair with Age Beautiful Darkest Brown (looks black though) and I want to go to a lighter shade of either medium brown or normal dark brown. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Asked by: Darseels
Hello this is Roxy with Agebeautiful you can always try a level lighter and gradually work your way to a more natural dark brown , I would suggest if you use a 3n now then go to a 4n if you use a 4n now then go to a 5n mix with 20 vol apply on roots only and over time once that dark color fades the refresh

What is the difference between N and NN?  My hair is brown, not dark brown.  My ends seem darker now after dying my hair.  I have been using your product but the 5N.  Any suggestions will help.

Asked by: Diane Manemann
The AgeBeautiful NN line specially formulated with triple pigment for stubborn grey or people with 75% or more grey. The extra pigment is needed to help the hair grab the color longer. If you don't have many greys but they are stubborn I suggest starting a shade or two lighter in the NN series. It can come out darker due to the extra pigment. For more color options also considering mixing other colors with the NN. I personally love mixing the WB line with the NN line. It gives a really nice warmth but not red.

Whats level 3B? It says bluest is that bluish black or dark brown?

Asked by: laulau43
3B is a blue based black. The black color will have more of a blue shimmer in the sun than inside . And as the blue tones fades over time you will still have a nice black color. 3B is a great way to add a little fun color to your hair without going with a bright vivid blue.

I’ve been using 6NN but my color comes out too dark. I have very stubborn grays. Can I switch to 7NN for a lighter color but still cover my grays?

Asked by: Monica178
The NN line for AgeBeautiful is specially formulated for stubborn grey. So you will still get 100% grey coverage. But keep in mind the lighter you go the easier it is to fade from sun and washing over time. Also, mixing it half and half the first time is a good idea like Sherylannp said. Because it will help give the new root color a more blended effect as you go lighter.

Can I use Ion developer with this brand?

Asked by: Joycekop
Most color lines suggest you use the developer they have made for the product line. From a stylist perspective, yes the other developer will work but you are potentially changing the formula and how well it could work. Often times the hair can be dryer when using a random developer.

If I only need to touch my roots up do i need to make a 2oz batch up as it always seems a lot and i end up chucking the overs out?

Asked by: Lily daPink
The side of the tube is labeled with measurements so you can make smaller amounts and save it for later. The smallest measurement on the tube is 1/2 oz. but most people will need about an ounce to completely cover all their roots. An open container of any color has about a 3 month lifespan before it starts to oxidize.

How long should you keep it in your hair?  I have been using this for years and I just did my roots with he same 6NN I always use and the color did not work.  This has never happened.

Asked by: rtrkitten
Hi there! For grey coverage it is recommended to start with processing 35 minutes . For more stubborn grays you can start in your grayest areas ( temples are usually a good example) and then when you finish applying let process for 45 minutes. AgeBeautiful is formulated with silk proteins and helps strengthen and add melanin back into the hair. All of which grey hair needs to feel softer and healthier. We do suggest that you use the AgeBeautiful developer for best results.

I used 6NN light intense brown all over my hair and I love it. But when my grays came in I used 6NN on my roots and most of my roots came out almost black, so should I use a 30 developer and the 6NN or a lighter shade

Asked by: Bobbyray
I mix the 6NN brown with 8NN Med blonde and 7NN dark blond. You an play around with the ratios. Equal part is good. More of the blond makes your roots lighter after a week. But better than black. I use 20 developer.
