Rated 3 out of 5 by from It is ok I honestly expected to the color to go more light. I felt less damage comparing to the over the counter hair color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not What You'd Expect From A High Lift Hello Fellow Beauties! So recently I have dyed my hair with this product, and let me tell you.... IT BLEW ME OUT OF THE WATER! Now before I get into this review, here's some things to put out there: - I am not a licensed Hair Stylist, but I have been dying my own hair for over 10 years - I had previously lightened hair on the ends of my hair, it was dyed over with ION 6N Permanent Hair Color - I had over 8 inches of VIRGIN HAIR that is a 6N, this means my hair was between a Dark Blonde and a Light Brown - I have a thick mane but my hair texture is FINE, meaning it is easier to lift than asian/natural hair - Before I dyed my hair with this product, I WAS NOT LOOKING FOR 5 LEVELS OF LIFT, MY GOAL WAS APPROX. 2-3 levels of lift - I ALSO DID A STRAND TEST **HIGHLY RECOMMEND** BEFORE I SLAPPED THIS COLOR ON MY HEAD! Just Do The Strand Test! It will Save You So Much Money and Time! So, This product isn't like the rest. Other Products would not lift and deposit! They would just lift your hair like bleach and the color was not there. This however, CHANGES THE WHOLE GAME! I dyed from root to tip in one swoop! I know I should have done the roots first and then the tips, but I wanted to see how this performed. I did do a strand test ahead of time to see if it reacted with products in my hair, and to see the integrity of my hair after dying it. So, when I finally saturated my head with this product, It had to sit for 50 Minutes at room temperature (do not put the plastic or use foils with this product! Or you will destroy your hair!). I checked every so often, and got a little disappointed since at the 30 mins, it looked like ramen noodle colored hair. However, when the 50 mins came around, it had deposited color onto my hair and made the brass disappear! Holy Smokes! After washing with shampoo and conditioner, put my styling products in, my hair went from 6 to 8! It was the perfect Beige blonde! Remember how I said my ends had color? Well, SURPRISE SURPRISE! IT WAS ALL ONE COLOR! You can barely see the previously lightened hair! This surprised me, because I thought it was going to look like I bleached it with 20 vol and left it in for 20 mins expecting it to be banana yellow. lol I highly recommend this product to persons with FINE VIRGIN HAIR that is at a 6-7 level! If You are not at that particular level, YOU NEED BLEACH! That goes for - Black, Dark Brown, Med. Brown, Reds, AND Previously dyed hair! YOU NEED BLEACH IF YOU FALL UNDER THOSE CIRCUMSTANCES! Other than that, this will do what it says it does! Will be using for the next few years!

I have never used or have done this before. I have light blonde hair with some low lights, can I use "Cool Blonde" to touch up my roots, which the base root color is a darker shade than my hair color, and then comb it through the last 5 minutes?

Asked by: maggie88
I have dark brown natural hair and this lifts my hair mid-shaft and ends about 3-4 levels with a 40vol developer left on for 45min. When I use this for my roots touch up, I use 30vol. developer and it lifts me also 3-4 levels in about 30mins. The cool blonde does not have as much toning effects as I expected but my hair is definitely not as brassy as when using regular bleach. So you may need to get an actual toner too to compliment the rest of the hair.

Can this product be used on dark hair without having to bleach beforehand? I have dark brown hair and would like to highlight it without using powder lightener. Would this be a good product? Do you have to buy developer or is it included?

Asked by: JoeJoe28
No, I have ash blonde hair and it brings it up brass. This product does not do what bleach powder does. Don't get me wrong, I liked the colors it brought my already light highlights up to white but my natural hair and other darker colors I had left from previous coloring did not come up to the desired color. Brassy blonde on ash blonde to dishwater blonde hair.

Hey there I want like white highlights the lightest but no red tones I have to have a ash color which should I buy? and thank you

Asked by: Beccajean
I've been using this product for years and it does not come out white, and it can have a little red tones. You should pick a product for white color. Go into Sally's and talk with a rep, they are very helpful. You should also try youtube for how to bleach hair white if you don't feel like leaving the house. And if you only want highlights you need to use a cap or the foil method. Caps are so hard to work with unless you have bone straight thin hair. GOD BLESS your hair!

What color will make my hair a light white blond without any red?

Asked by: Johnna eller
To remove red undertones in hair you should 90% of the time beach the hair you want white blonde . Carefully . 20 vol & on scalp only bleach ( use if foils or full colour )  Shampoo lightly . ( lift to a banana colour & no dryer only plastic bag ) now apply baby blondes permantant colour ( this is not a wash out toner ) - use the most gray to your naked eye on store colour charts . I use these often to pop blondes as hi lights  The entire collection Is gorgeous . All personal preference on the end colour = you choose the  colour with most gray tones to get white . Have fun & don't panic .

I'm looking for a good high lift blonde to touch up my roots to prep for semi-permanent dye(Arctic Fox) as my hair is naturally a dark blonde and I can get away with a high lift blonde instead of full on bleaching. Would this be a good option?

Yes thus would work. Make sure you use the 40 volume period and use a blonde with a blue base.

My hair has been dyed today and turned out too white. I used Liquid High Lift Ash Blonde with a 40 Volume developer. I want to redo my hair today using the Loreal Beach Baby Lights High Lift Champagne Blonde. What volume developer would you suggest?

Asked by: Nanster75
You’ll want to use a low developer, I’d go with a 10. A 10 will just deposit the color and not lift it, meaning it won’t make it any lighter.

if you use 20% vol. developer will it work? will it take longer and if yes how much longer? thanks

Asked by: esternels
I used 20 volume to blend gray , not to achieve a ‘bleached blonde‘ look.   I guess it depends on what you’re aiming for.   Again, if you already hve chemically treated hair, your results will vary.

My hair is natural blonde. I died it black. Bleached 3 times. Now dark orange and yellow. Don't want to bleach again, but also don't want to go back to dark. Need to lighten it. I don't think Light ash brown will cover. Can i use hi lift with 40 developer

Asked by: cottontail
I would not suggest this color. As previous reviews have stated it didn't lift as well as it claimed. I would suggest hitting your dark orange spots with bleach a final time with a 20 volume developer. They key to solving your issue is a SLOW and STEADY lift. If you can get the orange to the same shade of yellow, tone it with a wella toner of your choice. If you use the Hi-lift on your head now, the color will come out uneven again. You need to get the hair all a single color first by isolating and lifting the dark orange to the equal shades of yellow on the rest of your head. I would not recommend 40 developer as it will fry your hair more than it already is and it will process too quickly and you'll be potentially lifting higher than your blond once again leaving you with uneven shades. I initially suggested 20 volume as you'll be able to keep it on longer with less damage as well as it'll gently lift the oranges.

Asked by: Kelly jo
I used the natural blonde. I normally grab orange so I was concerned. It came out perfect! Not brassy at all and definitely not ash or cool.  Previously I tried platinum, knowing that I grab orange, however, the platinum looked grey on me.  These are the only two shades that I’ve tried.
