Rated 5 out of 5 by from Been using this for over 15yrs!! I love this brand, never destroys my hair! I am 65 and have been using for over 15 years and will continue until I can no longer. This color is overall my favorite, it covers my grey well it is a soft brown with a subtle Golden Tone (which is exactly like my real color).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad with a bit of work I am probably 50-75% gray and my natural color is dark brown. I have had a lot of issues with color coming out brassy at the roots and then not matching the ends because the ends turned out darker. Of course I was doing something wrong and it turns out I was trying to use ash tones and didn't realize that can make the brass even worse. Someone suggested I opt for warmer tones and I decided to try this. I used a 20% Wella developer because they were out of this brand (go figure) and it turned out well. Now I have no idea about developers and for all I know a 10% might have turned out better if you're going for darker (I'm going to have to ask a pro about that). At any rate this turned out fairly dark with just a slight tint of warm on top. I had some way grown out highlights near my ends that blended very well with it to give it a slight highlighted look there. I have very stubborn gray-- practically white so I did leave it on about 45 minutes. I did my roots and crown area then waited about 40 minutes and ran the rest through my ends and let it sit another 10 minutes. I was pleasantly surprised with the results; they were darker than I thought which was good but also just a very slight warm tone to the top. Let's see how long this lasts. I used two tubes of the liquid and 4oz of the developer with hair that is just past my shoulders. I would also recommend getting a deep conditioner to use for after you rinse the color. (I did a light shampoo after rinsing color) but this color did leave a slightly dry feeling to the hair so you really will need that. I followed up with a light leave in conditioner as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Hair Color! I have used many different brands of hair color over the last 20 years. This brand ranks up there with the very best! The stain is strong and true to what I anticipated the colors to be- if not a bit dark at first- within a few washes the color was exactly as expected. I am really loving the slight warm classy hue of these blushing shades. This is my second application of this color combination, and the color has held through three months with minimal fading. I use 10V developer as I only wish for deposit with little to no lift. The colors I use are 9WB for roots and dominant shade, and then a 50/50 mix of 9WB and 6WB for lowlights . Lastly I color the under layer of my hair with 6WB. I am very, very pleased with the hair color and the developer in the AGEbeautiful line- especially these new blushing shades. I can recommend these without hesitation!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Color I have been trying to find a replacement for my regular color that is being discontinued. I have been trying a few different brands at Sally. Ist Ion...hated it, 2nd Wella, nice but I bought the wrong color, so may eventually try again. 3rd I tried Age Beautiful Blushed shade 6WB and did a sample underneath before I applied to my entire head. Man, the color was gorgeous but a little too dark for me, so I added a 7N neutral dark blonde using 1/2 of each for my whole head. At first I thought it was still to dark, but it faded after a few washes. It's a very pretty shade of brown and just stopped at Sally yesterday to buy a second bottle.... I think I have found my replacement!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Color Was having trouble with resistant grey coverage using the 9WB w/20 volume developer alone, so tried it with 10 volume developer along with Ardell grey drops, processed approximately 40 minutes, and got wonderful results. The 10 volume developer left it a little dark, more of a plush light brown than blonde, but there is a nice warmth to it. You might have to tweak the mixture to suit your preferences, but I highly recommend the new "Warm" color line ..

I use 10N Age Beautiful color with 40 developer with 20 drops of gray magic. I also add ion color booster. I love the color, but my hair on temples aren’t covering. What should I change?

Asked by: Pattys83
For best gray coverage, use 10 or 20 volume. Pre-lighten if you need more lift, the higher volume means less color deposit. I think your additives are canceling each other out. Gray hair is usually thicker and wiry. The Gray Magic works by lifting the hair cuticle with ammonia and alcohol, essentially causing damage. Similarly, some people pretreat by applying developer only to stubborn grays, to cause a little damage to lift the cuticle. But the Ion Booster repairs stripped, damaged hair and smooths it. It works best for lightened hair that is weaker, not thicker gray hair. Also, are you using the whole bottle of color (2oz + 2oz developer) or just half? Make sure you aren't using too much of the Ion Booster, it definitely slows development and lessens color deposit. It's 1/2 a vial for the full bottle, which is 4oz of mixed color, so 1/4 vial if you only mix half a bottle. My suggestion: If you need the Ion Booster, then I would mix the color and gray drops with 10 or 20 developer WITHOUT the Ion Booster and apply it to your temples. Then add the Booster to the mix and apply to the rest of your hair. Other things you could try: Try an "intense" shade (NN) for more color pigment. Or try a warm or gold shade, they cover gray better than neutral. You can mix colors to get a shade in between neutral and gold, if you don't want it too warm. If you really like the color and you need a little extra lift, try pretreating with the 40 developer which will also lift the cuticle for more color deposit. Or use a little less developer in your mix, so there is more color pigments per oz.

cannot find age beautiful 8N, what color would be close to 8N

Asked by: iagrandma
Hello, I am not a super expert on hair color, but I did take a look at the swatches, and I think there are a few you should look into. I think the 7N, or 6B. Those look to be the closest in color to the 8N that you were asking about. Also, though, please keep in mind, that when you are coloring your hair, and picking a shade, it typically comes out 2 shades darker than the swatch color. So, like for me, I have naturally dark brown hair, so you would think ok go with a dark brown color that looks identical. But NO, if I did this, it would come out almost a black color. So, what I have been using in this age beautiful line is the 6N, which I think has descriptive color words such as medium neutral brown. After applying my hair has come out dark brown, with a tiny touch of auburn reds, which is also ok with me as that gives my hair a little shine. I hope this helps in your search and decision to pick the best color!
