Rated 1 out of 5 by from Way darker than advertised I used the dark ash brown on my dyed light auburn hair. The color prediction on the box matched my roots perfectly, but when I used the dye as directed, my hair turned pitch black. It's WAY darker than the box suggests even after washing it three times, and now I'm off trying to find some way to fix it, which is probably going to require putting on more chemicals

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My stylist asked me what I was using! I have naturally red hair but as I've gotten older it's faded, plus I'm getting a few white hairs. I have had my hair colored three times by pros using Aveda and Redken products and my hair came out a weird purple color. I get excellent results from this box color. My hair stylist actually asked what I used so she could recommend it to another client. It's very close to my natural hair color and I hardly notice when my roots grow out. They recently changed the formula (more moisturizing) and I like it even more.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Get L’Oréal Hicolor instead I have medium brown hair and I tested out the Light Auburn on a strip of my hair and the color came out reddish brown and not like the color on the box. Not at all the color I wanted. So I went to my local beauty supply and purchased the L’Oréal Hicolor in sizzling copper and mixed it with 30 volume developer. Then I added 1, plus a half of the color intensifying tube, that comes with the dye, to 3 boxes of dye. My hair looks just like the box and is such a lovely color.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Color starts Fading within 2 weeks!! I so wanted to be able to give this product a 5 star review but unfortunately, it's undeserving of 5 stars. When this product is improved and the color last more than 2 weeks (I'm hoping at least 3) then and only then will I update my review. I am a faithful customer to Loreal products and I'm disappointed in this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great highlights! The color came out to be exactly as I thought it would. It is a beautiful dark red with a pretty blending of natural looking highlights. I will definitely use this color again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty Good At Home Hair Color This is the first hair color I have used that I did not get an allergic reaction to, including brands that claim they are specially formulated to remove allergic ingredients. Usually, my scalp starts itching right away during the application and even after it is rinsed off, takes a week or so of my scratching my itchy head before it goes away. Not so here. I used it to touch up my roots. The color was not as flat and uniform as other brands I tried - not perfect - I wish I could figure out how not to have it be so monocromatic.

Hi. I normally get my hair colored st a salon. They use redkin 11/2 8 ab & 6 ab. What would you suggest that may be similar? I don’t want to turn green!  Thank you

Asked by: Roothead DMH
Hi Roothead DMH- You may want to try Excellence Creme 8A as alternate to the Redken formula your stylist uses.Undo

Hi, do you have a color chart that shows the brown shades from light to dark? The little squares that are shown w/the product image aren't very big and hard to discern what the color really looks like. TY

Asked by: bolla67
Hi There, Thanks for reaching out! Unfortunately we do not have a color chart to send. If you select one of the small squares the color will enlarge. Thanks for your interest in L'Oreal!

My stylist says I need to buy a 30 volume developer to mix with the dye I purchase. Is that always the case or do some dyes come with the developer? Stylist also suggests I mix beige and ash blond for my color (doing root touch up).

What are the numbers on the blonde boxes and color shades. Currently using Preference in gold box 9G. What would the Preferce cream in the pink box be.

Asked by: vivians
Thank you for reaching out to L'Oreal. We do not have the same shade, light golden blonde available in the Excellence Creme. We do have a light blonde minus the golden tone which would be shade #9, Light Natural Blonde.

I used this brand and it didn’t color my hair at all. However, I noticed on the box it says it is used to color grey hair. My hair is not grey at all. Is it only used to cover up greys? If so, can you recommend another dye for red hair to blonde hair?
