Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible color Wella color charm 4 BC cool brown permanent gel does not work. Turned my brown hair very red. Nothing cool about it ! I wish I could get my money back exactly the opposite of what i wanted.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great color, not what I expected. My natural hair is a medium dark brown and I got the “intense medium blonde” shade 7NN because it is a neutral tone and I was hoping for a bit of a less warm tone from my actual hair color. Half of my hair was a different color from my natural roots from a much older dye that had faded. I did not get the neutral color I was looking for, it turned my hair a very auburn shade and actually lightened my roots significantly. Luckily the color looks really good on me, but it is no where near what I expected.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Used to love wella—-big disappointment! This turned my gray hairs a bright pale orange, and the few darker strands a deeper orange. My hair is naturally a medium dark ash brown. I wanted something I could use to cover my gray hairs and add a slight amount of dimension so it would look more natural. These stated “cool” and that they do not turn hair brassy. Complete garbage! My hair looks awful now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Turns your Hair Red! My natural hair color, before turning gray, was an ash brown. I tried the Root Beer Float hair color and it turned my hair strawberry blonde! I tried Coffee Ice Cream and it turned my hair dark red! I thought "cool" colors weren't supposed to do this! That's the reason I bought this hair dye was to prevent my hair from turning red!

I currently use Wella the color Mudslide. I want to go a little lighter. Should I go 1 color lighter or 2?

Asked by: Melanie04
I use the root beer for my root touch up. It is basically a dish water blond. It looks dark on after about 20 mins but when I rinse it’s the perfect color to match my dirty blonde.

Is this shade a ash brown My clients wants to be a ash gold brown

Asked by: JJprecious
I don't think there is much ash to these two colors.  I find more golden tones to them.

I used Wella 6NW last time for my grey roots and they are more of a red brown now. I have think curly hair and my grey is stubborn. I wanted to try the Wella Gel 6BC Mudslide. Will that lift the warmth and give a natural light brown or it too dark?

Asked by: Lorijax79
You may end up with some warmth still. Ive used 6BC before and 5 BC and they appeared warm to me but in your case may cancel some of that red. 6NW is more of a golden blonde color so I'm curious as to why it appeared red brown on you. Are you 100% grey or do you still have some color left?

What developer 20 or 40 would you reccomend using for complete gray coverage and to reduce red pulling through?

Asked by: mary1971hendricks
The higher the volume developer the higher the lift and more damage it causes. When you lift hair that’s when warmth pulls through, my recommendation for deposit only and no lift would be a 10 Vol or 20 Vol developer. becareful on the roots because heat from the scalp can make the color turn lighter! hope this helps~

When I color my roots they always come out lighter then the rest of my hair. I only put color on roots and do my ends for about 5 to ten minutes. I use a 20 developer?

Asked by: Hello it is m
Are you leaving the color on for 35-40 minutes? That seems to really help the roots take the color. Also don’t wash your hair afterwards with shampoos, just use water and conditioner until the color really settles. You can also add heat. (A blow dryer works well.)
