Rated 5 out of 5 by from Call 911 for Awesome Gold Color! My new #1 fave is Color Charm 911/9N Very Light Blonde. I now have the much-wanted Antique Gold blonde so in vogue. (And my hair's naturally blue-black.) Love the fragrance, too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Got the gold out! I got the 12A Frosty Ash to use as a toner since the T18 didn't tone my bleached hair as well as it has in the past. I already bleached my chemically treated hair 2 or 3 times so I didn't want to put any more lightener on it. I mixed the 12A with 30vol creme developer and it turned out perfectly!! I am thrilled about this purchase. I usually have to use two tubes of color to cover my long hair but since the gel goes further I still have another tube to use for a different time!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bring back my old 911! I have used the 911 for years and loved it. Then it changed to 9N, still good. My most recent purchase was of 9NN. There were no other options in the 9 series so I assumed (silly me) that this was again a label change, not a product change. Product looked different coming out of the bottle and I now have light orange hair! Yuck!

I went from golden blonde to ash blonde, still missing a few spots but I've seen ideas and they had wella 12A and used toner T14. How would I go about doing that together or first the dye then the toner?

Asked by: Mimi0825
I wouldn't mix the toner and color. Color first using your developer. Use a 20v for up to 3 shades lift in color, 30v for 5 shades in color and 40v for high lift. Then dry to damp the hair and apply toner for the specified time limit. ALWAYS follow all the manufacturers instructions carefully. Test a patch of hair for the desired color first before using these products. If you have an area that is stubborn and does not take color as quickly, apply the color and toner to those areas first. Then apply the rest of the color and toner to the entire are needing color.

I have been using color charm permanent gel 4A/237 mixing with 25 developeras instructed, but lately the gray is not covering properly. It is only turning my gray to blond! My stylist suggested I ask to see if there is a neutral product that I can add?

Asked by: Peachy Janice
My hair is very gray and I use Salon Care 20 volume crepe developer. (With the color charm permanent gel) It covers it well.

I have lightened and toned my hair twice, and was told I should be able to use 1030/10A (Palest Ash Blonde) after two lightening sessions. It is now a vibrant yellow colour. Should I lighten it again or dye it the ash colour? I'm worried it won't take.

Asked by: SaraNadine15
Hi. I suggest using Wella Color Charm T14 on hair lightened to "yellow" T14 has Violet & Blue to Neutralize the Yellow. End result being a light neutral blonde. Light ash blonde is hard to achieve without being lifted to a "pale yellow" (like the inside of a banana) i would not lighten again bc you might compromise the integrity of your hair. Hi my hair is a light blond and I wanted to try the Praline. But I can't figure out what color it comes under. Like blond, brown?

Asked by: Brennie1
Hi, if you want to have the praline color and you have blond color naturally. Do you have grey hair yet? If you don’t have grey, then 6W mostly and a little of 5WR and 10volume peroxide would do. If you have some grey then use the same formula and add a little 6NW.

do i have to bleach my hair before i use this? the parts i want to dye are naturally brunette, i want to use this product in sand blonde.

Asked by: bellarosa
Yes, absolutely bleach first. Lighten to the level of blonde that you want and then use this to adjust to color/tone to the desired shade. Using this over your natural brunette will not give you blonde.

This is my 1st time trying this permanent dye on my hair. I already had a demi color washing out, my hair is naturally brunette. I tried the 4R/356 shade with 20 volume, it's made it darker. Will this fade eventually? Can I use demi again in a few months?

Yes it will fade I only use permanent hair color and it does fade in about 6 to 8 wks., Yes you can go back to using what you normally have been using.

Asked by: bellabellabella
Do not mix the bleach and hair color together. Bleach first, tone (if you want, but you’re just gonna deposit color), and use this dye. When using this dye, follow the directions on the box and only use the suggested volume developer and nothing higher.

Yes you need developer. Try 30 volume to lighten without frying your hair. You may need a toner treatment as well if your hair has red tones in it.

I had my hair bleached at the salon about 6 months ago. toner is wore off and now a golden blonde. roots are dark blonde. looking to be a summer beachy blonde. not too yellow/golden, not too bright white. somewhere in the middle. any shade suggestions?

Asked by: miss4383
Well, you've chosen the best brand, then. When my niece, whose a hairdresser suggested Wella Color Charm, I used it and would never consider another. It picks up on your own hair's natural color variations and lightens them exactly the same, so you get the natural lights and lighter tones. Most people are shocked that I do my own hair. They say it always looks so natural with no "ridges" across when I redo the roots only. It all blends so naturally. The color my niece suggested was to get away from the ashy look I had. The product number is "9N/911". It’s light without being too yellow, nor white like platinum. The description says very light blonde. I wish I could post a picture.  Get this, I'm normally a brunette, but no one knows or remembers I ever had dark hair. After a full head color the first time, every 3 weeks you could touch up. I use about 1 liquid ounce in a clear measuring cup, add 2 ounces of Color Charm 20 volume developer, using the dye brush, just to dye the roots in the places that normally fall open at the top...takes 10 minutes or less. 1/2 hour or so more to complete the process. About every 4-5 weeks I do the whole root area around my head.

I would use #1290 in Well color charm. It has a blue base to it so it won't pull the brassy tones.

Three weeks ago I bleached my hair twice and waited the next morning and used the 10N/1001 and it didn’t do anything. My hair now is white blonde and yellow in the middle. Now I have 8N/811 and I’m wanting help on how to get it to that color

Asked by: Sierra99
My hair is blonde also, but instead of trying to cover the white roots, I purchased the color 9NG, Sand Blonde which is a brownish shade and use that on the roots and then I put streaks on the balance of my hair. That makes it looked streaked and natural. I love it and redo it every 5 weeks. Get lots of compliments. Good luck to your customer.

Can you use the cream peroxide and how much? How long do you leave it on?

Asked by: Peggynov47
Yes, I prefer the cream peroxide so the coloring is thicker and doesn’t run as much. For permanent color put the color on the roots and leave for fifteen minutes. While you are waiting mix a little shampoo into the color. At the end of the fifteen minutes work the rest of the color through the rest of your hair so to refresh the color all over. Leave on another five minutes then wash twice. This method is for doing touch-ups. If the hair has no previous color on it tint it as you would virgin hair.

I would think the 7w (Carmel) would be close, but it would be hard to match illumina because it is more of a translucent color.
