  • Mix Ratio: 1 part haircolor, 2 parts developer. Lighter than natural shade, first time application: Develop for 15 minutes, check, then process up to an additional 15 minutes or until color is even. Darker than natural shade, first time application: Develop for 30 minutes, check, then process up to an additional 15 minutes if additional coverage is needed.

Tips for achieving optimum coverage on gray hair:

    1. Select a shade level 8 or darker for best coverage; Lighter shades will create a translucent effect.

    2. Shades from Natural or Gold Family will produce a more natural result with optimum coverage.

    3. Mix with 20 Volume Well Color Charm Developer

    4. Apply generously starting at the area with highest percentage of gray or most resistant.

    5. Process for 30 minute, extend to 45 minutes if needed.

    6. For better coverage on hair that is more than 50% gray, use a fashion shade from the Red Family and mix with equal parts of Wella Color Charm Natural or Gold shade at the same level.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this color I dyed my hair Pralines and went to the hair dresser for a cut and low lites. She told me the color is perfect as is. She couldn't believe i did such a good color job saying "i usually can spot a home job when i see it". Great product and easy to use.

I currently have my hair professionally colored with Redken products. (Highlight/lowlight and base break which blends everything nicely together) If I attempt to do my own "root" cover up what do you suggest? I believe my colorist suggested 6N or 8N...

Asked by: Isabelle777
8 will be lighter than 6 but you could do one bottle 6 and half a bottle of 8. The issue would be more what pigment your hair is. Do you skew more to brassy or red? Then the developer would need to be mixed. Typically people use a 20 or 30 developer but I have to mix 20 with 10 or my root will be too “hot” as they say. The developer can help you play with the tone. Hope that helps!

Do you still carry wella color charm 6.35 and 5.35 I can’t find it anywhere? Please help!

Asked by: Applescindy
When I cannot find something I google it. No I have been highliting my hair and if it begins to look like 1 shade I put few lowlifes in. Highlites with cap and lowlights couple on sides and couple in the back.

I recently purchased this color and it took perfectly on natural roots but rinsed out quickly on bleached area and turned very full very quickly. Is there something I can do to prevent this the next use?

Asked by: Lemmy2019
There are a few things you can try. First, make sure the bleached area is free of any product (hair spray, conditioner, etc--including conditioner you put on the shower and rinsed out). before you color. Second, increase the strength of the developer you use--if you're currently using 20 strength, for example, move up to 30. And finally, extend the length of time you leave the dye in place before rinsing it out. As an example, because I have resistant hair I often leave mine on for 40 minutes.

I have natural light brown hair and for years I have been high lighting it blonde and I have greys so one day I decided to dye it I used ion light intense brown with a developer 30 but it is way to dark i want like a caramel or light brown how do i get it

Asked by: Angelics
I found that their colors come out darker than expected too.  The dark blondes even come out to a brown.  I am using one of their medium blondes  and am happy with results
