  • Mix Ratio: 1 part haircolor, 2 parts developer. Lighter than natural shade, first time application: Develop for 15 minutes, check, then process up to an additional 15 minutes or until color is even. Darker than natural shade, first time application: Develop for 30 minutes, check, then process up to an additional 15 minutes if additional coverage is needed.

Tips for achieving optimum coverage on gray hair:

    1. Select a shade level 8 or darker for best coverage; Lighter shades will create a translucent effect.

    2. Shades from Natural or Gold Family will produce a more natural result with optimum coverage.

    3. Mix with 20 Volume Well Color Charm Developer

    4. Apply generously starting at the area with highest percentage of gray or most resistant.

    5. Process for 30 minute, extend to 45 minutes if needed.

    6. For better coverage on hair that is more than 50% gray, use a fashion shade from the Red Family and mix with equal parts of Wella Color Charm Natural or Gold shade at the same level.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wella Color Charm 3RV/367 Black Cherry I have been using this product for several years and LOVE this color. I get compliments on the color. I'm still very happy with the color. When light shines on my hair the color shows beautifully.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My go to fall shade I always use developer volumn 10. Strips hair's natural color less and seems to hold dyed color longer. Dye tends to be darker than name implies using the lower developer. I would describe this as medium copper brown when using a 10 developer. Great color for fall/winter.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Needed color correction after using this product. More of a orange than blonde. Had to go get color correction after using because my hair was literally orange. It made me a ginger. Overall the product worked well but the color is nothing like the swatch on the website

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not the color I was expecting I had very light blonde hair and wanted to change it to more strawberry blonde for winter so I bought this thinking it would do the trick. It made my hair turn a reddish pink color instead. I tried washing it out to fade it and the color wouldn’t fade out. I ended up bleaching it all out two weeks later and going back to blonde.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not drying My hair was still soft after dyeing so it didn’t dry it out. It was also shiny and looked healthy. The smell was kind of strong but doable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New fave I recently started using this brand and color after my hair dresser suggested it. I’ve always used the 4N family in a cream. My hair always turned out too dark and I couldn’t figure out why. This brand is amazing and super easy to use! I like to mix this color with 5NW.

I’m purchasing Color Charm Permanent Liquid Hair Color cinnamon brown. Do I need to purchase a toner ? If so what is recommended?

Asked by: Aimee1281
You don't need a toner unless you want to neutralize unwanted warmth after coloring. You do need to purchase developer at least 20 Volume for most permanent hair color applications. You will also need gloves and applicator tools. For professional advice on this product please contact the Wella Help Line 1-866-722-4146. I want a dark brown but keep getting too black what will help

Asked by: amylee1373
Hair color is very complex and each head of hair is different. Try a strand test. Don't pull the color through the ends when you do a touchup. Try a semi permanent fresh up. It is really impossible to answer this without a professional seeing your hair.

2 weeks ago I used ‘Deity Color Shampoo’ to color my hair. How soon can I use Wella Color Charm to cover my grey low porosity 4C hair?

Asked by: Queen100
If the shampoo is temporary, washes out with each shampoo, It should work fine. If the color you used is a temporary 6 week product wait until the temporary color has all faded before recoloring with a permanent color. If the product you used is a metallic dye, don't use any permanent color product on your hair.

What’s the difference between Wella color charm toner and permanent hair color? I want to darken my blonde balayage slightly and tone it

Asked by: Lohaus82
To my knowledge and experience, toner is used after highlighting to reduce bassinets and or orangy shade. Permanent hair color is to cover gray or change hair color.

Go for a level 5-4 brown and then add a bit of blue to the mix. Sally’s sells an additive pack that works well.

I bleached my hair and while toners work well to keep brass out (I’m a natural redhead) golden tones pop through after 2 washes. I was thinking of using the wella frosty ash. Would this keep it pale but add ash to take out the pale golden brass hue?

Asked by: KrisRenee
Don't know if this will help, but I am still dark with grey. I have red highlights and my hair pull orange. A colorist explained to me the a blue base and a green base counteract the orange. I have used for years a combination of light ash brown, medium ash brown, and a neutral blonde to cover grey. One of the browns is a blue base and the other a green base, I never have any orange! The bases are on their color chart.

Can you help me find a hair color

Asked by: Lani girl
It honestly depends on what your looking for. These dyes I’ve noticed you have to actually have lighter hair for the reds to actually work or virgin hair. This is the way to go if your looking for brighter reds. They also have a violet line.

Asked by: Dawn2204
Before you over process your hair, please test an area. If you bleached your hair to platium, you will only need to tone with color and I would use 10 vol instead. You will need to check the process at 10 minutes and every 5 minutes following.

What should I use with the Color Charm Permanent Liquid Hair Color to color all over and for good gray coverage will it work by itself or it needs to be mixed with something else?

Asked by: Alla Fridman
Any permanent hair color needs to be mixed with a developer in order for it to process correctly. When used with a 20 volume developer most permanent hair color will cover grey hair.
