  • How to Mix

Mix 1 part Wella Color Tango Permanent Masque Hair Color with 1 part Wella Color Tango Developer in a 1:1 mixing ratio. Due to the thick masque consistency, we recommend applying Wella Color Tango with a bowl and brush.

Process Wella Color Tango for 30 minutes to ensure 100% gray coverage. Always use Wella Color Tango Developer for best results.

    Wella Color Tango Developers:
10 Volume: For going darker or maintaining the same level.
20 Volume: For optimum gray coverage and lightening up to 2 levels.
30 Volume:  For lightening up to 3 levels and for more intense results through lengths and ends.

  • Use Wella Color Tango intensifiers to customize your color results - start by adding 1/4oz of the desired intensifier to your 2oz formula. Add the same amount of developer as the intensifier.

Color Tip: Wella Color Tango has a richer and more opaque color result in comparison to Wella Color Charm. If you are currently using Wella Color Charm, we recommend selecting a Wella Color Tango shade that is 1 level lighter than your existing shade to avoid getting results that are too dark. Remember to mix Wella Color Tango in a 1:1 mixing ratio and process for 30 minutes.

Use the Wella Color Charm Activating Lotion to deposit only color services, such as refreshing color through lengths and ends.

On-Trend Color Tip: Silver gray is one of the hottest hair color trends. You can create it using Wella Color Tango Intense Cool (IC). Mix 2oz Intense Cool + 2oz 10 Volume Wella Color Tango Developer. Apply on hair that has been pre-lightened to pale yellow and process for up to 15 minutes. Check every 5 minutes and shampoo once the desired tone is reached.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wella color tango toner Just received my box from Influenster with the wella toners. Let me tell you! The wella color tango toner is a LIFE SAVER. I’ve tried other products that are very pricey and leave my hair felling dried out. This certain product left it silky soft and no damage noticeable. Definitely recommend and give it 10 stars

I use the color black cherry what color would be closest to that in the tango version.

Asked by: Lotus916
I can't say for sure, but Ruby (RV) and Deep Plum (3V) mixed together looks like it might be a close match to the Black Cherry. Ask in store to be sure, I color my hair with Black Licorice (1NN) so I don't know how well any of their other colors work but the 1NN is the most pigmented of all the black dyes I've used over the past 10 years, so hopefully their other colors are just as good.

Will mocha or dark chocolate brown cover up my red dyed hair? I don’t know what to use to get the red out

Asked by: Tori8595
My daughter purchased black blue to cover up light brown hair color.  It looks good at the beginning, but it seems to wash off every time she shampoos her hair.  It says permanent hair color on the box, but I dont believe it is.

I have a lot of red tones in my hair. I am wanting to get it to a med brown without red. Which Wella color should i use. I was told to use 7R with a packet i mixed in that keeps red at bay and now my hair is more red than it was when i started.

Asked by: lydjan37
I regularly use 6NN, which is a darker brown with no red tone (ashy). I would stay away from the Wella Tango dyes that have "R" in it's color label -- I believe the "R" means it favors red. I have also used the Ardell Red Gold Corrector Plus as a mix in when highlighting to neutralize orange/brassy tones.

I colored my hair dark chocolate cherry for years then decided to go back to my natural color blonde. Now I want to go back to dark chocolate cherry but can't find it in any brand hair color. What do you suggest I use and what level of developer? Help

Asked by: Starfire41102
