Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pink hair dye was white! They forgot the color. I bought this permanent flare me in “rose to the occasion” color. There was no color to the dye (the leftover pink in my mixer was from an earlier clairol ion brights, more on that I’m a second). I bought two tubes and both were like the photo attached. Now for the clairol ion permanent brights in “flamingo.” I chose not to use bc it was NOT the same color as the semi permanent brights, not even close. The permanent version is a hideous neon pink, the color by the SAME NAME in semi-permanent is gorgeous and may be my favorite pink out there. I’m sad about all this bc I was a permanent color. I bought now two varieties and clairol has missed both times. I will be switching brands.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from fried my hair I tried this once and wanted to keep the purple in my hair as it was washing out. Applied it and washed it out. As i was combing my hair I noticed the hair on my left side singed. My hair was med to long. After the hair colors damaged, my hair on the left side fell off and had to cut it to even it out. My hair is now a bob. will not being using this and advice against it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great color, fades quick Used Rose to the Occasion with 30 volume developer and left on about 30 minutes. I didn't expect it to be so intense. I was thinking a lighter pink, which is why I left it on for the full 30. But I love the color! My hair is bleached already but the dark roots I decided not to relighten (for more depth to color). I think I achieved it. I did this on a Saturday and have had the color bleed onto the towel through Thursday (today). It's less each time but it's testament to quick fading. I will try to keep it up but am a little concerned that I may not be able to get consistently the same color. Guess we'll see.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Make Me Blush Pink Is A No Go For Me For being a permanent color it sure washed out really fast. I did enjoy the color while it lasted but it came out in only 2 to 3 washes. I did prelighten my hair and followed the directions on the color with the matching developer. I wish it would have stayed a pretty pink way longer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my hair! I used an equal mix of 'Rose To The Occasion' and 'Make Em Blush' with 20 Vol developer on my lightened hair to get my pink and I love it!! First time we tried it without lightening and my dark brown turned to a dark red so lightening is a must if you have dark hair. I'm much happier with these results than I was from my salon visit before. Will definitely do it again!!

Is everything you need included in the box?

How much is one part? I have dark hair what level should my developer be

Asked by: Zeke9503
Level 40 Volume developer, because you need a high volume to be able to lift your dark hair, otherwise it may not show up very well or it may not be the desired color, I got pink, not sure what color you have, for example if you don't have a high enough volume developer and you bought the pink, it could come out on the orange side rather than pink. I'm not sure how much parts you are suppose to mix, you need to refer to the bottle of developer, and possibly the flare box to see the required AMT of developer you will need. Another suggestion is to bleach it out some first with a high lifting bleach, then you can use a 20 volume developer with the flare instead. I hope this helps some. Good luck..

i bough this in be you blue, my hair is dark brown. do you think if i use a 20 developer my hair will get some hints of blue? i don't want to bleach it :( thanks!

Asked by: anazuno13
I know this is an old question, but please no one do this. If you have dark brown hair, you could even go up to 40 volume + color (don't do this, you'll break your hair off and burn your scalp) and without a lightener (bleach) if you're very, very lucky, your hair will just continue to look brown. When the color fades you'll be left with (likely damaged) brassy hair. If you have natural dark hair and don't want to lighten it, use a semi-permanent or any color which does NOT use a developer. Your hair will look a bit darker than your natural color, but your lighter hairs will show a bit of the color, and you'll see the tone when the light hits it. My natural color is level 4-5 and I've tried doing my outgrowth with 40 vol and color instead of pre-lightening: it's bad. It just turns orange. Dark hair, even if you have the least red hair you've ever seen, still has a red undertone. When you lighten it, you have to lighten it a LOT (like level 8-9) to get the red out, and you still have to tone it to get the yellow out at that level. Developer alone can only lift about 1 level max, so you're going to get very, very orange hair if you put that on dark hair. Blue and orange makes brown, and if you somehow do get a level of lightening that is closer to yellow than orange, the best you'll get is green. You will never, ever get blue from a permanent color if you don't pre-lighten dark hair. If someone tells you otherwise, demand proof.

If you are not coloring all your hair and just the ends can you not mix all the color with developer and it be ok to store for later? How long will it keep if stored?

Asked by: Newbie to pink
Just don't mix the color with developer and it'll keep pretty much indefinitely with the cap on in the original tube (I've been known to have an open tube of color for a couple months with no problem). Once you mix with developer, it's usually only active about 30 minutes. So even though you might have some leftover mixed color, it won't do anything if you apply it to your hair.

I've used a clear cream before. Does this clear simply add shine and conditioning or does it alter the color?

Asked by: kirsten49
No it only alters the color, it's a permanent, and must be used with a developer, 20, 30, or 40, depending on how much lift you need.

Can I just dye hair with this product directly or do I need to add other chemicals to it? I want to dye my daughters hair for prom

Asked by: Fluffy Mama
No you can't, you have to add a developer, 20, 30, or 40 volume, there are other products out there like ion neon or pastels, they are semi permanent, and you add nothing. No chemicals and non damaging, to hair.

Do you use this product right out of the box or do you have to mix it with something

Asked by: Alana1948
You have to mix it with developer. I used Ion sensitive scalp creme developer to mix this with.

can I use regular 30 or 40 developer with this?

Asked by: MaryMac3
Either devoloper would be fine, 40 going to lift faster, so check sooner on your hair.
