Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Coppers/Reds! I been using HiColor reds for over six years. I love the colors! Best brand so far. It does fade slowly between washes, but all reds do, so don't get fooled with brands that claim they don't. I personally retouch my whole hair every 4-8 weeks depending on new growth and washes. My suggestion is to mix and match tones/colors so you don't get bored with the same colors. Sometimes I mix copper red with fire red or sizzling fire with copper red. And sometimes I even mix one of these reds with a tube of the Copper or Magenta Highlights to give it a different quick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heads are turning at the firecracker ! I am a redhead for a last 28 years. I was always using Wella color until it had been discontinued. Since that time I had a problem to find a right shade of red for me, the orangy-red. Finally my eye caught L'Oreal HiColor Permanent Hair Color Sizzling Copper. Color is gorgeous ! I'm getting so many compliments on it ! Even my hairdresser asked me what color I'm using.I'm using L'Oreal because I'm worth it !

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Intense Red Hicolor It’s a great product but I wasn’t expecting the color to be darker. It’s more of a reddish brown.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love love love I am a licensed cosmetologist and have been trying to color my hair red with multiple red professional colors. One of my clients had always used this and I gave it a try. I finally got the results I wanted by mixing magenta and red with 40v for 1 hour. I can not stay out of the mirror.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from ehh. i dont suggest this for natural hair. as an African American with raw non processed hair. I wanted to try this because I thought it would be safer then bleaching my heart an then dying NO.. all though it may be safer my whole curl pattern is gone. my hair feels so dry after an hour of deep conditioning under the dryer. Mind you I have never put any chemical treatment in my hair before this. ive only done this to my natural hair once an I thought if it worked so good with my bundles it would be good with my hair. I was sadly mistaken an I'm very disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hair dye. If you have dark hair it is good, if you have any grey hair it comes out bright pinkish red.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not work, ruined my red color hair. I tried this on my roots, new growth hair, as well as my already bleached red color rest of my hair. Worst case scenario I thought it wouldn’t take on the roots and just give my already red hair a boost of color. What I got was a really dark burgundy color all over my hair, don’t even know how a supposed bright red color did that, but completely ruined the color I already had going. Do not recommend as it doesn’t give you the color it advertises.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HiColor Copper I’ve been using this for the past 3 months and absolutely love it. I first dyed my hair back in October 2018 using the copper hicolor with a 30volume developer, leaving it in my hair for 25 minutes then adding the color onto my roots and leaving that for 10 minutes. Came out a lot brighter than expected (I expected a natural copper color) however, after a few washes it does fade to a really pretty copper color almost like a strawberry blond. But I love the bright orange. I have only needed to redo my roots twice in the past 3 months (I don’t mind the dark root look) and I only needed 1 bottle of the product. I switched to a 20 volume developer and leave it on my roots for 10 minutes so I don’t get the hot root look. I absolutely love this product. However, if you want the initial “natural” copper look, this might not be the product for you because it does take at least 10-15 washes for the color to start fading. To see the video of my hair and coloring it I have a YouTube tutorial, search “Oli Marie split dying my hair” or my channel name is just Oli Marie

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Shade Soft Brown - Too Red/Warm Toned! I initially chose this product because the girl that worked at Sally's said this range was really good for people with dark hair. Naturally, I have dark brown hair. The dye did a good job of lifting the color. My roots were virgin hair. Now, I am unhappy with the color I chose - soft brown - because it made my hair look kind of orange... very red toned and bright. In the store the little hair sample underneath it made it seem like the dye was only going to make my hair a shade or 2 lighter. Now I'm stuck looking like Hayley Williams from Paramore when she had light auburn hair. I'm going to try to fade this color out of my hair as fast as possible and try another brown that's more suitable for me. - small back story - I had gotten my hair done professionally at a salon, and I wasn't happy with how my hair turned out. The lady had bleached majority of my hair, and blended the bleach so evenly and choppy/streaky. She also left my roots my natural dark color so I left with dark brown roots, and bright yellow toned blonde hair. I was unhappy with it and the dark brown roots didn't blend well with the blonde at all therefore I was searching for a shade or 2 lighter brown, so it would blend better. I attached photos of my hair before and after I dyed my hair using the shade "Soft Brown".

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A Bit of a Let Down I bought this to dye my friend's hair and after hearing good things about it from the salespeople, I was really excited to give it a shot. Despite having dark brown hair myself, I had not used this line designed specifically for dark hair, so I wasn't sure what to expect. My friend has short, darkest brown virgin hair, and after following instructions provided in the packaging to a T, we rinsed the dye out, and the color didn't seem to stick. I had purchased coolest brown, and was hoping to see some kind of lift, but no cigar. It appeared to lift maybe one shade, if that, and didn't seem at all as light as what the little sample hair thingy looked like in the store, so both of us were pretty disappointed as it was his first time getting to dye his hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Chocolate Brown I used the shade soft brown on completely virgin darkest brown hair and it lifted perfectly! It is a nice warm brown and it is literally so easy for beginners, make sure you follow the directions and use 30 volume developer that’s all I had to do to get brown hair. No dryness or breakage no problem!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bright red color! I have medium brown long thick hair and use 2 boxes of H9 + Red Protein Filler and the color lasts for a good 2-3 weeks or depending how often I wash. No bleaching, 25 minutes, its very quick and easy. Preferably wash the color out in a stainless steel or dark tiled sink/bath tub cause it can stain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! It came out perfect for me! I also mixed with just copper! I bleached my hair first. It was natural dark brown. Then I added the color with 40 volume.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what I was expecting at all I’ve dyed and lightened my hair in the past, but had no luck with this color. I watched a million videos beforehand and followed all directions. What I ended up with was strips of uneven color, with lots of red and orange brassy strands. I applied the color more than an inch away from my roots, but the hair closest to my roots instantly went super bright, and the ends of my hair turned a muddy brown. Absolutely nothing “cool brown” about the color, and I ended up just dying my entire head with a dark brown semi permanent dye. Super disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my hair again!!! I use to use this to get my hair to a bright almost neon red by mixing red hot and magenta or red, but now that I am in my thirties I thought it was time to tone it down. I knew I wanted to still be red, just not so bright. I ended up getting H12 deep auburn red which in my hair turned to a nice deep plum/ merlot color that when in the sun shines a deep red and I couldn't be more pleased. This color is much more me and my hair feels more healthy and soft.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work on permanent black dyed hair It only dyed my roots which have grown out, it did not change the color of my ends whatsoever so now I just look silly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work on brunette virgin hair!!! I bought this item a couple of days ago in honey blonde. I have brown virgin hair and thought it would be a great alternative instead of bleaching my hair. I followed the instructions and mixed a 40 volume developer with the dye. This product didn’t do anything but damage it! To anyone reading this review: Save your coins and get yourself some bleach

The 'RED HOT' gave me fire engine, little mermaid red, whereas the 'INTENSE RED' gave me more of a wine red, burgundy color. Hope that helps.

i have tied my hair with red hot last year when i had dark hair! i then ended up blaching my hair blonde color but iam now  sick of it and want to go back red. if i used red hot on pre lightened hair would it be ok? will i get the same red as before?

Asked by: dreday89
Yes, I had used it on bleach hair before however its not going to last long since its meant for dark hair , you'll have to re dye your hair every other week until your hair grows out. You might also look into semi color , I used the jazz brand before in hot tamale and it looks very similar to the red hot.

i previously dyed my hair in the shade Magenta and i want to go brown now but i’m not sure which shade i should do. Any suggestions?

Asked by: karenxt2
I would use a temporary hair product like Clairols semi permanent collection. They have no peroxide, no ammonia, so won't damage your hair. This product is pretty strong for me, and lasts many shampoos. I don't know what shade of Magenta you have. With temp colors, they can only darken, because they coat the hair, not lift out pigment. As long as the Magenta is lighter than the shade of brown you try from a semi permanent no ammonia, no peroxide product, you will be fine. They have many shades of brown, and the also have a Jazzy collection that does the same thing. Good Luck!
