Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible The first thing to note is that I did not use this on completely Virgin hair. I also used the blue violet color. I followed the directions perfectly and the color initially came out great. The only time I shampooed it was right after coloring like the directions say. Within 24 hours the color seemed to completely evaporate out of my hair. I had not sweated, gotten it wet, nor washed it. And there was no sign of where the color went, nothing on my clothes or bedsheets. My natural hair color did lift as the box suggested. It is the purple that did not stay. I will be trying the Age Beautiful line again, just not the intense lift.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of money This whole brand is a waste of money. I’ve tried this line of hair color twice. Both times the colors were supposed to be permanent. They lasted all of 3-4 days before the color was completely faded from my hair. I use cowash and I washed it once at the time of application so there should have been no stripping. Total waste of money

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Listen to the bad reviews! So I have been dying my own hair with products from Sally's for 10 years, so this is not my first rodeo...I purchased the medium intense blue-violet, the box states to use on virgin brunette hair, which I haven't had since elementary school, but I decided to try it anyways but to have low expectations... The color mixed up very smoothly but the smell was horrendous, I'm typically not bothered by fumes from hair dye, but this was bad, I had a headache by the end of application. It was very harsh on my scalp as well, it's still tender the next day. Nothing too bad happened to my hair with this, I got a pretty even color, but the payoff was nothing more than I typically achieve, which is a nice red-violet, it looks fine, but was not worth the fumes or the dryness it caused. Just buy a red-violet brown with regular lift, this stuff is harsher and doesn't work any better than the regular age beautiful or other brands.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy Color was gone in two days before I even washed it again. Horrible. I was excited for the color and even thought right after dying it would be awesome. Then it was gone. Dont waste youre money unless you want color for a day. I got the blue violet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from don’t!! I have jet black hair, I knew for my hair to turn into any color is a stretch but hey on the box it says black hair would turn into purple... I purchased the blue violet without reading the reviews. I was at sally’s to buy another dye but this one promised more purple hair so I impulsively put it in the basket... So my hair is reddish dark brown now. And that’s pretty much under sunlight. I used 30 developer like it was suggested ( for my hair 40 would be better but i chickened out)... So once again realized any color without bleaching is a dream for me...

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Never Again. I tried this a couple of days ago. My hair is a dark mahogany so it is hard for me to find a funky color with out having to pre-lighten my hair. i should have listened to the reviews. i followed the directions on the box. and my hair turned out like a reverse ombre. brassy i don't know what color up top and faded down to a purplish brown at the bottom. my hair is just down to my chin. i have no grey hair. so i had to go out that same night and buy a boxed dye from Walgreens to fix the mess before work Monday morning. i will never try this brand again. I have used the Ion Brand from Sallys for 10 years. before this dye job it had been nearly a year and growing out a pixie cut since i had previously dyed my hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing purple Today I dyed my step daughters hair with this color and a 5V mixed with a 20 volume. The results turned out amazing and I strongly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blue Violet finally!! All purple color has a red hue and that isn't what I'm looking for. Finally a blue based purple. This as a base with prelighted highlights and a direct purple over the highlights is amazing

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dont buy I bought this dye last week. After my first wash, my grey hair is returning already and color is washing out. I have used Age many times before. Never have had this issue before. Not to mention that it began to burn after the first 10 minutes of processing. My hair is now so damaged and dry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm pleased Yesterday before work I purchased the lightest red color to be used as highlights. After work I used the color with a 30 volume developer. I have been coloring my hair for over 20+ years with various shades of red. The price I paid was 10 cents more than the online price. I am satisfied with the outcome. I have very stubborn gray so I want to see how well this last. I have to color much more often than I like .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! I was a dark chocolate brown after my wedding. I needed something different; I was a little hesitant to go spending money on something that lightens/dyes your hair. I picked up the intense medium red for the darkest hair color with a 30 developer. My hair was Redder then ever! It also didn’t feel like straw! My red is still there but has faded with my blonde roots showing through after 2 months! I will be going back today to by another box because I love this product

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY! Waste of money! I followed the instructions to the t and instead of beautiful blue-purple hair, I was left with reddish brown hair. All it did was lighten my hair, that's it. Total waste of time and money. Do not bother buying this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Product Love, love, love this dye. I would say that my hair was a level 3 dark brown, I used this dye with 30 volume developer and I definitely have a level 5 or 6 red and I get a ton of compliments. My hair didn't feel straw-like and dead afterwards either.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not it! I like the age beautiful colors, been using them for years. This line however sucks. I followed the instructions and it turned just my roots and the top of my forehead strawberry blonde. I have almost black hair! I tried it a second time and its even worse, I am so disappointed that I wasted my time and money on this. I now have black and purple hair with a strawberry blonde crown. Not cool!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolutely Horrible Dye. I have boxed dyed hair that’s a medium brown with blonde highlights in my hair, from my previously blonde hair underneath. The woman that helped me at Sally’s said that I should use this dye & she recommends it. When I put the dye in my hair, I noticed that it wasn’t turning my hair red. & I know for sure that I mixed the developer & dye together correctly. So i was really confused. Once I washed it out, I was left speechless. This dye turned parts of my hair bright pinkish orangey red, didn’t even dye that medium brown color, & left my blonde highlights in my hair a light salmon pink color. My hair also feels super dead & fried, when it felt super healthy before. This dye is absolute garbage, & I don’t recommend it, what so ever.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Medium blue-violet + Light Red-violet I was honestly very hesitant to try this color line because there were so many negative reviews. First off, I can understand why some people are upset because the shades medium violet and medium blue-violet promise to turn people's dark hair into those colors. Unfortunately, that's really gimmicky and misleading because it's almost impossible to get those kinds of colors on dark hair unless it's prelightened. The brand needs to fix this claim because it's really false advertising. However, after reading some of the reviews I kind of got an idea of what colors I wanted to use. I had two friends that wanted to go burgundy. One was a level 3/4 naturally while the other was a level 2. I chose to use medium blue-violet and light red-violet to get a light burgundy with minimal brassiness. Because these are high lift colors you will definitely get hot roots if you apply it from roots to ends with the same developer unless you do it strategically. The directions say to mix 2 parts of 30 developer only but you can honestly use whatever developer you want. In order to avoid hot roots I mixed 1oz of each color and used 2oz of 20vol developer and 2oz 30vol to create a 25vol because I still wanted the lift but I wanted to control any brassiness. I applied that all to the roots first and went about an inch out. Once I finished the roots I immediately went back in and put the remaining of each color tube and mixed with 4oz of 40vol developer to the midlengths and ends. Processed for 40 mins under a cap and took off the cap for the last 5 mins. Shampooed and conditioned. It literally creates the most perfect burgundy shade! Absolutely loved it and my friends loved it too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected I read a lot of negative reviews about this product. I tried the Lightest Red, with a 30 developer from ION, and I added a couple of the red protein drops from COLORFUL (#10 Red Red). I feel like I got pretty amazing results. I had about 2.5 inches of virgin hair and the rest was an extremely faded red hair from two semis I had mixed about a month ago. I've used the Loreal High Light before (both magenta and red). And the last time I tried the Red, I also added the protein drops and I basically got the same results with the age beautiful. I think people are dying their hair on dyed hair. It doesn't matter if you haven't dyed your hair in 3 months, if the color is still there you will get bad results. I was only going to use this on my roots, but 6 oz total covered just about all of my hair. I highly recommend this, but you have to have virgin hair or at most a dyed light brown.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do NOT purchase if you want purple hair If I could give this product zero stars I absolutely would. I purchased blue-violet because I wanted to dye my hair BLUE VIOLET. Instead, it turned out to be a vibrant red. Last I checked, those colors were not similar at all. It lightened my darker hair and made it red. That was it. Do not purchase this product, it's not worth the money at all. I have never been more disappointed in hair dye than I have been now.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The color isn't right. I colored my hair Sunday and after 1 wash it's already coppery looking at the roots. I used the medium red violet and it looks amazing on some parts of my hair but I think that is still from the Fushia I had in from another color.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Turned out great but bled fast and faded Really liked how the color turned out. But the smell was very strong. It also washed out quickly and bled bad. I thought hey maybe can go over my hair again but it says only for touch ups . So i had to switch brands. But the first week my hair looked amazing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not the color i wanted but still was pretty So i just used this on a client with virgin dark hair, and i thought it was going to be a real pretty red like the reviews i saw for loreal hi lift color but it turn out a reddish brown color not sure why. But i won’t buy again I’ll try L’Oréal color out for the next hi lift hair dye. I gave 3 stars because it was still a pretty color but just not what we wanted for results.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this mixed in with color! I mix equal parts of the intense violet with Age Beautiful 1V black plum and wow, what a great color combination! In the sun I have a great bright purple black! I find the black plum alone is too dark blackj. Get so many compliments

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Doesn’t last!!! I tried this thinking what a great idea, color designed for stubborn gray hair. What a disappointment!!! Not only does it NOT cover the gray well, it has dried my hair out. Don’t use this product unless you want your color to fade and brittle hair

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I like it I got this on Wednesday and no matter what color or brand I use the color washs out right away but omg I love this color when I first put it on but now it looks like a mess and I’m leaving for Disney next week I’m so sad idk what to do ugh I really want purple hair without bleaching it that will stay In my hair longer then 2 washes maybe I do it wrong or my hair just don’t like color

I have dark brown hair, but I have tried to color my grays ones three weeks ago and it turned out brassy, I need something to fix this problem. I do not want to go back to the salon to correct it. Will this brand work on my hair?

I used this to color the bottom of my hair (the medium intense purple) and used a dark brown for the top. I have a few spots that didn't take or that I missed. Can I got over the already dyed hair again with the purple color? I dyed it 4 days ago

Asked by: Cremaphor
That would not be a good idea to dye your hair again that soon.

my hair is hard to hold curls and almost sholder lunth what perm and rods do i need for a spirle or piggie back look

Asked by: raven1926
I have done a perm by using bantu knots on bra strap length fine hair... Secure the knot with rubberbands so there isnt a 'perm'anent line... Came out with a beautiful loose wave instead of poodle curls as requested by client... Bantu knots: take sections of hair and twists tightly until it starts to wrap around into a small bun secure firmly so perm solution doesnt unravel knot before process is completed
