Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shade RR-04 Intense dark red- forever rouge I love this shade! My natural hair color is a boring dark brown this color complements my fair cool toned skin. I read a lot of reviews that were stating the color turns out burgundy if you have dark hair. I personally did not have this problem. My natural hair is very dark brown and in the past I’ve colored my hair burgundy and burgundy shades have violet tones. I only got red tones with this shade in my hair no violet whatsoever. This is not a natural shade of red like a Auburn and I love that because it’s so vivid and dramatic. My boyfriend said he loves this color on me better than other colors I’ve used in the past. You cannot beat the price and Quality of this product I also love the conditioning treatment really softens my hair. I couldn’t be happier. Thanx L’Oreal Preference!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what I was expecting I bought 2 boxes of hair dye. They were the exact same but when I opened them it looked a little different. I wasnt too concerned but when I was finished I noticed that my hair was 2 different colors. I originally had light blonde hair and now it's dark brown and light brown. Not sure if this was supposed to happen or they messed up.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from did not work. I bought the ash blonde box dye to lighten my hair, and it didn't work WHATSOEVER. Im very disappointed as this is the first box dye I've used and i even kept it in a little longer and nothing happened even the slightest to my hair.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not great I frequently use this product and this time the color did not stay at all, I’ve had minor issues in the past but never to the extent of absolutely no color at all. Very disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing coverage and natural looking. I have used this brand for years. Its easy to use. Great value for natural, even and long lasting color. Im 61 and a natural red head and I get complements on my hair all the time. Im caregiver for my 11 year old granddaughter and I get mistaken for her mom all the time thanks to this great product. If you color yourself, use the best and get great results. Im saving thousands per year doing my own color, so I dont mind spending an extra $1 a month for these great results. Be sure to ALWAYS use shampoo for colored hair and you will see no rapid fading. I use Redkin, but I have used the Loreal brand and it is great too. Use half the tube conditioner that comes in the colorant box after coloring and use the other half a couple of weeks later. Thank you Loreal!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Color transferring on collar I bought this product 2 times. Both times, the color transferred to my shirt collar. I have rinsed and washed MANY times and it still stains my tops especially when l sweat at the gym. Why does your product do this?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Turned brassy orangish Second time doing hair. Went from 6g to the Carmel color. The roots look really orange and it said no orange. The product didn’t work on my ends. Disappointed. I then went and bought 6g excellence and redid my entire hair. The riots are still reddish orange and now my ends are a darker brown.

What developer would you recommend for this color chocolate? I currently use coffee with developer 10 for roots because of gray and 40 for rest of my hair. Because I used to color my hair dark brown store bought box so it was dark.

What color would I get if I mix the coffee and the mocha together? And if I use coffee as the base and use the mocha for the hilights would that be pretty? I’m trying to decide what to do this is my first time using the mega browns!

I have platinum blonde/ white hair and dark brown roots. I want to do a caramel color overall . What filler should I use for the blonde ?

Asked by: Jenny Saccoccia
I decided to go Carmel as well. But my hair was red I had been coloring it red for years. So I stripped it with bleach and then I put the caramel on. The first month it wasn't as dark as I wanted it. But the second month to present it's been the perfect color for me. My advice to you depending on the color of your roots if they're not too dark you should be able to put the color caramel on it but I would definitely only use a 10 volume on the blonde because you only want to deposit. And make sure you condition condition condition.

I used to combine a cap full of the Mega Brown Truffle with 1oz of the #5 Neutral base Brown. I see you are not showing Truffle in my options is it discontinued? Which other color do you recommend to be similar to it from your Mega Browns all LOREAL.

Asked by: NVCosta5
I think Chocolate is probably a good substitute for the Truffle color.

Do i need more than this mix meaning can i use it alone or does it need to be mixed with another product. Carla

Asked by: Carla Sooma
You just need to mix it with a 10 or 20 vol developer, the ratio is 1:1.

What volume would I need to combine with the chocolate 10 or 20 I think it’s half color half volume for root coverage

Asked by: Tmeoster
I am 60 years old and have been coloring my hair for decades. I use 20 volume by L'Oreal and yes, I use equal parts of volume and color. I have found that mixing colors gives me the most natural look. Just pay attention to the undertones of each color if you decide to mix it up. In other words, I use two different colors and mix together, but they both have a golden/ red undertone, not ash undertones.

directions on box too small to read. Before touching up my roots can I use just 20V developer & color together or do I need something else too?

Asked by: sandy444
Just the 20 v developer if there is a lot gray to cover add some gray magic to the mix apply to roots after 20 minutes pull color through strands of hair develop for 5 more minutes and wash out see how it looks .if roots are too light you may have to add a cap full of a darker color to the mix
