Rated 5 out of 5 by from True to natural red hair This product is the closest color I can find to natural red. Most red dyes have a pink hue, but this has orange. It covers the gray and makes my hair soft for a couple of weeks. My only complaint is that it is no longer carried in stores so I have to spend the price of one box on shipping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gentle even with scalp psoriasis!!! I bought this product after debating for a long time, if I should put my hair, and scalp through the pain of dying my hair. Let me tell you I have severe scalp psoriasis, and this product is a miracle. No pain at all, super gentle, and covered all of my gray.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great color! Dark Copper I was going for a level 6 but since they don’t have an option I mixed the 5rg and 7rg. I was nervous about how dark the 5rg would make it so I used half as much of the 5rg. It came out a perfect dark coppery red. I get lots of complements. I also use the Color Condition in Copper to keep the color vibrant. I used to use well 6rg but it seems to be missing that extra oopf of red/copper I was looking for. This fits the bill perfectly.

Hey my clients like the 6RG in the one and only argan oil color... why did they quit making it? That color had the right amount of red and brown in it... what else can I use that will be the same color and tone?

Asked by: machelle12
Hi! I have been using this brand and the somewhat the same colors for 4 years now. I always mix 2 colors to achieve a natural copper brown. I use 7RG and 4C. More of the 7RG than of the 4C (sort of a 1/2 to a 1/3 ratio) but it will depend on the tone you want to achieve and how long is your hair. You might also want to try 8RG and 4C mix, and I think it would give you somewhat of the same coloration tone as 6RG. Just be careful with the ratios. Hope it helps.

My hair is long and i might need 2 bottles So how much developer do i use

Asked by: nikkisfree17
There are 2 applications per tube, 1.5 oz each. If you need to double, the whole tube is 3 oz. You will mix it 2 parts developer to 1 part color, so if you are using the the whole tube you will use 6 oz of developer.

Does this absolutely NEED developer with it to work?

Asked by: Nikkiann2
Yes, mixing the color and developer together creates the chemical reaction that causes the product to change the color of your hair. Without the chemicals in the developer that cause this reaction (ammonia and peroxide) the coloring agent is useless. If you are looking for hair color that doesn't require developer and/or premixing look for "semi-permanent" or "temporary" on the label

I have mixed 2oz of 6G and 1/2oz of 6RG with 5oz of 20 developer.....but 6RG is discontinued.  Do I switch to 5RG or 7RG?

Asked by: Roming52
You could do either one but it would be a little lighter with 7 a little darker with 5 but not a big difference. It would be best to go a little darker to cover like 6RG in my opinion.

If i use rg8 on hair that is already red to cover gray and add shine , will it be the same color as the sample

Asked by: susie BQ
I love this color and yes, it does a great job covering gray. As with most red dyes, after a couple of weeks the vibrant color fades a little, but what is left is a lovely shade for which I have received many compliments...even my hair dresser loves the look! I would say it is a little more on the light orange side than red. Not sure I could guarantee that it will do the look you want to achieve, I did find that using shampoos strictly for redheads has helped to keep the color up. I usually can go 6 weeks before a redo, but again, it would depend on your hair style and how much of the root is exposed.

I have been using OneNOnly 6MG dark blonde master gray for a long time now and it appears to be discontinued. Is there some color that is similar or a mixture of two?

Asked by: Debbie H
You can try mixing 8MG with 5G or you can switch to age beautiful 8NN which is what I have done and I really like it.

I have looked for this hair color in a couple of Sally stores and they did not have this color . Has this color been discontinued ? (if so) are there any Sally that might still have it or was it taken off the shelf ?

Asked by: irosodi65
If you’re talking about the Argan Oil #9, It’s like a light tangerine blond, yes they did discontinue it. I tried another brand and wasn’t happy, so j have gone back to this and now mix the 10 and the 8 to get a 9. Is it a pain, yes, but I like the color better than others I have tried.
