  • Contains no ammonia and requires no peroxide Gives beautiful, true-to-life, long-lasting color Provides a rich and natural look Economical way to color your hair No heavy masking odor Easy application
Bigen Permanent Powder Hair Color is designed to elegantly color all gray or partially gray hair, enrich your natural hair color without lift. Contains no ammonia and requires no hydrogen peroxide. contains no ammonia and requires no peroxide. The results are beautiful, true-to-life, long-lasting color with a rich and natural look. Bigen Powder Hair Color is an economical way to color your hair simply use as much as needed and keep the rest for the next application.
  • Read all instructions included with the package carefully before use.

Assemble everything you need from the contents of the Bigen pack, plastic or glass bowl or cup and a non-metal stirrer, plastic or rubber gloves, cape or towel, brush, cold cream.

Do not pre-shampoo your hair unless it is very oily or treated with metallic color such as hair color spray or henna compound or any other material that might interfere with Bigen coloring. Cover the upper part of your body with the towel or cape. Apply a thin coating of cold cream along the hairline to guard against any traces of tint around the hairline.

Pour Bigen Permanent Powder Hair Color into the plastic or glass cup or bowl. Add tap water at room temperature (DO NOT use hot water) following the proportions indicated in the instrutions to make a paste.1 bottle Bigen Powder, 5 Bigen measuring cups of water (2 fl oz) - 1 bottle Bigen Powder, 2 Bigen measuring cups of water (1 fl oz) - 1 bottle Bigen Powder, 1 Bigen measuring cups of water (1 fl oz).

Then quickly apply Bigen Hair Color mixture to the dry or towel dry hair with a brush. If you are partially gray haired, start application where the hair is most gray, making sure every hair strand is thoroughly covered. After application is complete, begin timing. It usually takes 20-30 minutes for the hair color to develop and cover gray. (DO NOT use dryer or cap).

Your color results depend on your current color or hair conditions. After 10 minutes, check your color by wiping a strand with cotton every few minutes until the desired color is achieved. Failure to perform a strand test may result in darker shade than expected. Now rinse Bigen thoroughly from the hair with warm water. Then wash the hair with mild shampoo until the water runs completely clear and free of color.

A low pH conditioner is recommended for satisfactory results.
  • Final color results will depend on your current color and hair conditions. As with all semi permanent and permanent hair dye, perform a test patch on your hair before applying all over.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Highly recommended for pregnant women! Its super easy to mix, it doesn't stink or burn, and no nausea after dying your hair. Its really dark for a brown black though and kinda had a brownish-plum hue... Still pretty though! Just darker than what I expected a brown black dye to be.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Chestnut Color I never could find a warm brown at the Sallies stores. I wish there was more chestnut in this hair color. I just want it to match my normal hair color that has some gray and also white at my temples. It went darker than I wanted, but I just add a little warm water and I think Bigen is the best and least corrosive to my hair follicles.

You claimed that your product is ammonia free, then what kind of substitute ingredient do you use to open up the cuticle to let the color penetrate into theshaft? do you use monoethanolamine instead? ingredients are not totally natural, please verify. PA

Asked by: parvaneh
What I meant is that you don’t need amonia to activate it. It only requieres water. I now it’s not natural but it covers 100% grays and it doesn’t fade away. I retouch only my roots every 3 weeks without any need of spreading it to the rest. And my hair is all grays now

Yes. My hair dresser performed both processes together in the past. I recommend testing a small unnoticeable patch before applying to your entire head to make sure you can tolerate both chemicals at the same time.

Asked by: savita 75
There is a chance this product could be for you . But I do not know what ingredient is causing you to have an itching problem .   I would suggest you do a test on a very small corner of your head .   Like in the back in the nape area . I personally have been using the products for over 30 years and never had a problem .   The color is permanent and will have to grow out .

My hair has been relaxed for a number of years. Can this product be used if I have a relaxer on my hair?

Asked by: SexySenior53
Relaxers do weaken the hair and you should limit chemical processes as much as you can to keep from damaging your hair. However, I assume you are not trying to go lighter since this is a deposit only and has no lift. This would be one of your safest options for coloring your hair. I have applied this to my own hair with a relaxer and didn't have any additional damage. I have now been relaxer free for 5 years and I LOVE the condition of my hair. I can't promise you that there will be no effect using this on relaxed hair, but it my experience it didn't cause any further damage for me. I still use it now with natural hair and it covers grays and lasts longer than any other deposit I have used... I've used a lot. As always, process a test area and follow all instructions on the label. I'm confident you will love this product as much as I do.

What are the ingredients? Will it burn the skin if not mixed properly

Asked by: Tisha Abdul
I have used Bigen black brown color for a few years every 6 months or less and never experienced burning, rash or redness of any kind. I believe anything like that would be dependent on individual skin allergies or rare sensitivities to what would normally be considered "safe" ingredients. Of course, you want to FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS on the box which tells you how much water to ad and to MIX WELL before applying. Don't forget instructions to test skin reaction with a small amount first.

what brown hair color with no red tones what do you recommend

Asked by: anntherese
It's hard to say. I have been using Bigen #57 for many years which is a medium-dark brown shade and I do notice a very light tone of red specially if you expose your hair to the sun without covering your head. I did use a black shade until 4 years ago, but even with this darker shade I noticed a tinge of reddish tone in my hair specially in the summer. So, I am not sure if this is due to the type of natural hair or just because of the product's ingredients.  B.

I just purchased a box of Oriental Black; I'm under the impression because there are no chemicals (ammonia, peroxide, etc.), this is a semi-permanent hair color powder. However, the box clearly states that it is "permanent hair color"?

Asked by: KEB1183TX
It is a permanent hair coloring. I've used this product for several years and the color had to grow out it doesn't wash out.

i am allergic to the PPD in hair dye my head will itch ,my ears hurt it hurts to brush hair my head throbs and i get a rash would this product do the same as a salons did to me or would it be safer ? due to my last reaction 4 yrs ago i dont dye anymore

Asked by: smith49120
Sorry for the delay in answering, I was out of town. NO! This product has resolved my problem which seems to be of the same nature as yours, but with a slightly different reaction but still an allergic reaction to my scalp. It's a good product and I have been using it for the last 10 years. The only possible problem with this product is it will dry your hair a little,  but if you use a good nutrition shampoo and deep care conditioner, your hair should retain its shine and moisture. Good product!

Just wondering if this is permanent or semi-permanent? I was told in-store by an associate that it was semi-permanent. I want to get my hair back to my natural black without going jet black and without having to do multiple dyes to maintain it.

Asked by: Sammii89
Yes, Bigens really works well and if you dont wash your hair everyday it will last several months. There are different shades of black, so whichever shade that matches your hair color will be the one you should choose. I use different shades of black from blue black to oriental black. Oriental black is the color I just used. I love bigens because I can use it before, after, or with a relaxer.

This may sound weird but do they make a color in white. My   Beard Is more white than black. I'm done trying to fight it..

Asked by: Stephen e
It would be easier to color your beard darker rather than lighter, white does not come on the first try and you will have to use chemicals that may be to harsh for the skin. Not a good idea.

Just wondering if it would be safe to mix oriental black (59) with dark brown (57)

Asked by: Delphine
I use Light Chestnut (46) myself but since these are more stains than traditional hair coloring I can't imagine it would be an issue. Best suggestion is take a small sample of each & mix it together to see if you like the blended color. Test it on the back of your hand. If it gives you the color you desire then mix the remaining powder together & proceed. You should also post your results (positive or negative) for everyone else to know if this mix works.

Is this product sulfate free and organic

Asked by: all natural
Bigen does contain sulfates, but not harmful to all types of hair. I have been using this product over 20 years. Excellent gray coverage if left on overnight with a plastic cap and scarf! Next day, wash out, shampoo, and deep condition .
