I save so much time & $ doing my roots!
I save so much money and time every month doing my roots at home! I'm very fortunate in that my colorist told me to use this color and how to do it. I have dark brown hair but have been dying it medium blonde for decades.
This 6G is great and brings out soft reddish highlights as well. Ok so you only need to use part of the tube for each application. You use equal parts color and equal parts 20 volume developer (sold separately).
Mix the goop well and apply with a hair paint brush to your roots. I leave it on for one hour while I do chores and then rinse. Boom, perfect color every time!
I used to use the whole tube for each application but ended up throwing out a lot of it since it's way too much for my head of hair. So as long as you close the top tightly, it lasts indefinitely.
I get 2- 3 applications out of each tube.
The very best part is not having to sit at the salon for 2 hours or more every month and drop over $100 each time. And it looks just as good! Hope this helps you! I was so scared to try doing my own roots but took the plunge after my colorist was kind enough to explain that it's not hard, and it's not like you're going to ruin your hair. The color is gentle, as is a 20 volume developer.

Great Hair Color Coverage!
I truly love the coverage this gives for hair color! I have some greys that come in and it covers them and my roots exceptionally well. Definitely recommend this product. My hair looks brown though in color ( so don't let the "blonde" deceive you if you think you will be blonde)

A disaster with 4nn
I previously used the dark blonde Clairol Professional, the results were fine but kind of dull and it faded super brassy so I decided to go a shade darker to the light brown, what a disaster. My hair is now black, with a bluish black tint at the ends, a weird purple sheen AND some areas where the dark blonde still shows through a thin sheen of black. It looks awful. My hair is porous so I wouldn’t have been surprised if the initial colour was more of a level 3 that fades to 4 in a couple of weeks but this is a weird, patchy, dull black. Now I’ve had to buy a colour stripper and will probably end up at the salon to get the hair colour I was aiming for. My poor hair is going to be fried. Never again with Clairol.

I’ve been using this product for 15+ years and love it. My color comes out great every time and sometimes I will mix 2 colors in the summer to get a little lighter without going to much. I’ve n ver had any issues with the product or packing and I’ve bought hundreds of tubes.

Got Creme instead of Liquid :-(
I wanted the liquid color (2N) and got the creme. After applying, it did not come out the same as the liquid color. Very disappointed. Have 5 bottles of the creme, which will last me a long time :-(

The hair coloe product is fine ...but for the price there is better products to use. Sally's is over priced at the land stores. Since the online opened up.
Folks speak up....
I used the online purchase when the land store was closed. It took a week to get my color...wow
They should have had a delivery service so they could get more customers....but they think there online is great...I like the land store over online. But I like online when products are not available in land stores.

I've always had really good results with the Clairol Soy4Plex colors. I recently went blonder with the 12A High Lift Cool Blonde and I've noticed that it doesn't give me the brassiness that some of the other blonde colors did.

Always have my products
I've always dyed my own hair, for 40 years. I used to by the boxed Clairol at Walmart or Target until one day those boxed dyes made my hair green. When green wasn't the color I wanted. I have a wonderful hair stylist that knows I like to dye my own hair and she steered me in the proper directions to buy this type of crème hair color. I've tried buying this from several different beauty supply places, but Sally's is the only one that I can consistently walk in any time of the month and buy the correct supplies I need to dye my hair. The price is fair, and I almost always find some other hair product I want to use for a fair deal too. And don't forget when they have a special giveaway if you spend a certain amount of money. Love the bags they give! Always outstanding.

This is a great product which I combine with 7N to create the perfect hair color. Unfortunately my last order did not contain the 7N, just the 6N, so I am now int the process of trying to contact someone to help me. I just called the main number and was disconnected. What happen to the 12GN
I was using the 12GN for many years. Now NO 12GN only 12G. I used this 12G (was told that it was a combination of 12G & 12GN, that it was the same). Well, it wasn't! Came out way too light and did not cover the gray areas in my hair. Looks horrible. What color should I be using?? The 12GN was perfect......What happened?

I have brown hair and am trying to cover grey. I ordered the 3N color. What developer do I need to mix with it.
I know this is an old question, but just in case this comes up again...
I'm a pro and I've used this product for my main color line since it was first sold - 25 to 30 years maybe, because I find it to be the best gray coverage without the hair looking "dyed". It leaves natural high and low lights in the hair and a soft healthy feel.
As it pertains to the above question- 20 volume is always the industry standard lift and deposit, cover the gray fall back developer level. 10 volume gives very little lift, almost deposit only, like a demi permanent color, and 40 volume lifts too high for almost anything but a high lift blonde, or a specialty application best done by a pro. There is NO reason to use it with a 3N which is a deep brunette or even levels 4,5, or 6. When the deposited pigment begins to fade, you will often have an ugly orange brown under there because the natural hair is over lightened
