Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not happy I have been using this color for about a year, always had my desired results. This last time my hair came out BROWN.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Doesn't cover the grays very long I have been using Wella and happy with the coverage, but it tends to be drying since the mix ratio is 1:2. Someone else put a review on the Wella saying they prefered Clairol as it doesn't dry your hair out as much. May be ok if you aren't very gray, but I am completely gray and the Wella gives 100% coverage till my roots grow out. It's only been a week and I am already using ALOT of gray. I'll go back to Wella and deep condition more often.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this color and Sally Beauty Supply I use 4RN on my (total gray) new growth, to prevent my roots from looking orange or pink, which would be the result if I use color I love, 4RR. I use the 4RR on the rest of my hair every other time after doing new growth with the 4RN. (I learned this from Esalon rep over the phone. They have great service and color, but couldn't match this 4RR.) I have an issue though, I can never get the 4RR creme online, only in store. The Sally's in my town closed, so I would have to travel to get it. 4RR liquid is available online, not creme. Why? ? Thank you for your great service! LOVE Sally Beauty Supply!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! 9v lavender sugar So ... I read several mixed reviews of this particular color. So I used this as a hair toner. To start I have blonde dyed hair my whole life with some brass along the roots ( hate that). I literally use any lightest ash box hair dye on sale at target. Then I use this toner after I box dye my hair. After I wash my hair dye out I really towel dry my hair good. Then I mix equal parts of this toner with 20 developer. Apply only I Top part of head and comb though to bottom whatever is left once Top is fully covered. Omg the results are perfect cool blonde with a ash tint. Very salon like. Loveeeeee!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love Clairol... Very good product. 7G is a perfect shade for me just light enough and gives glints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What you see is what you get! Simple and effective! Mixed with 20 developer as directions stated, made a nice gel for a dripless application. Timed as directed, washed as instructed. This product made my hair so soft and shiny. I received many complements. I was happy with the results and proud to say that I did it myself.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from To much red The brand pulls to much brass. I used a 7A and turned out brassy and to light. 7 was more like a 8 or 9.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A bit too dark for level 8 but good color. This is always a good solid product though I really prefer the liquid.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Eh. I’ve used this before and it’s always worked nice but the lady at the store told me to use a different developer and I did! My hair should have been natural golden blonde but it turned silver.... I’m alittle confused on why but it might have been the developer so just make sure you pick the right kind.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did Not Cover Gray I bought this product because of all the good reviews. This hair color did not work for me. I left it on for 4 minutes and it did not cover the gray roots around my face. I will go back to AGEbeautiful which worked better for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Healthy Hair Color Nice to have a product that is ammonia free and healthy for your hair that actually provides coverage for grey and lasts for 4 - 6 weeks

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOOOOOVE! I've been searching for a black that would FULLY cover my platinum blonde roots without double coloring. THIS. IS. THE. ONE. It's easy to mix, the smell isn't crazy-strong to me, and most importantly, it works. I was so nervous washing the black out because I assumed I would end up with roots a shade lighter than my lengths. NOPE. It covered it completely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Color Control and Conditioning for Asian Hair Clairol Soy Hair color products are professional. The boxed kit hair color products bought at drugstores damage my hair. Clairol Soy provides excellent color control and conditioning. For Asian jet black hair that is starting to gray, I use 30 developer with choice of color for 45 mins.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not as advertised Bought the 8a to use on my level 8 hair that was more neutral/warm toned. Left it on for the allotted time. Only thing it did was lighten my hair slightly and gave it yellow tones. The exact opposite of what I wanted. :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use, easy on hair. I bought on sale. Much cheaper and easier online

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Color adds great body and volume. I have very fine thin hair. This product adds body and volume to my hair without adding weight. I have to recolor every 3 weeks due to roots showing. However, because of the soy base, there is no damage to my hair. I have used this product for over 10 years.

Why cant Ifind Clairol creme in color 3RR?

Asked by: Nettie77
They've changed the number designations. If you'll compare in store you'll find your color, just under a different designation. I hate the changes but what can you do other than figure out what you need? If you can't figure it out maybe the store employees can help.

I ALWAYS USE 12GN HIGH LIFT OLD-NEURTRAL BLONDE BUT YOUR SITE IS NOT LETTING ME PUT IT INTO MY CART TO PURCHASE IT.

Asked by: SHARI 44
I also used 12GN. I asked at the store and they said Clairol no longer makes 12GN. I have switched to 8GN and am happy with this color. Just a tad darker but a great color. Looks very natural.

I usually use 6nn but it’s too red what color will be less red?

Asked by: 48kelly2020
I am strawberry red after coloring. I use 8g  with a 20 developer on my root for 25 minutes and 8 rn on the ends with a 10 developer for about 19 more minutes. Clairol permanent hair color. It fades and because I don’t like roots I color about once a month. In between or if I need to wait longer in between I use a root cover but getting the right color is difficult. Good luck.

I currently mix 2 parts Miss Clairol Soy Complex Cream Permanent Hair Color...6N with 1 part 7N? Is their a color that would be the same as what I achieve doing this so that I would not have to mix colors?

Asked by: barbieo22
That is a custom mixture. The only way would be trial and error to see if another manufacturer has a different effect on your hair. That is 2 parts DARK blond to 1 part medium blond, so you could also just try going lighter or darker with the same brand. I use claroil 8A or 9AA, and I alternate between them every couple of touch ups. So could do that as well. The dimension builds over time. Hope this helps!

My hair is dark brown and I wanna dye it to a silver without using bleach, would it still look good dying it to silver without bleaching it?

Asked by: Vkaren72
Going silver is impossible without lifting to a pale yellow almost white with a lightener.
