Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's fantastic! Two years ago I wanted to go purple. Pure Purple is my new, natural color. I use WEN as well and together the colour ends up lasting a few months. It leaves my hair feeling great. Even when I have decided that just doing roots, was too difficult and re-lightened my whole head.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bubblegum pink only available in store now :( Love bubblegum pink, but can no longer get it online. Because I live in the mountains, the closest store is an hr away. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good hair dye. Bought the green color. It has a nice shimmer to it. It's very liquidy; it's not thick like some other hair dye brands, so it's easy to apply, but also easy to make a mess! So use gloves and set out towels because you'll probably spill some. The color lasted at least 6 washes for me in warm/hot water, so if you use cold water it should last longer.

My hair is dyed like a strawberry blonde / light gingery color... would it be okay if i just added the emerald green dye over it without lightening my hair?

Asked by: tayl0rhardy
It will not take the color well unless your hair has been processed before. Bleaching your hair opens the follicles and allows the dye to permeate the hair. unprocessed hair is far more resistant. It will take up some of the color but will not be as brilliant as if your hair was bleached first.

Ive never done the extreme colors for my hair. But now I want to but have no idea how to go about it.. what bleach kit to use how many to buy. And all the amazing colors to choose from. I really wanna do my whole head purple with midnight blue streaks

Asked by: Nellie051683
Your best bet is to consult a professional about bleach if you do not know what you are doing. You could burn off your hair. But if you simply cannot wait, you can speak to a Sally's employee in person to find out what you need. If you do not have white blonde hair you are doing to need to bleach. If your hair is super dark, you are probably going to have to do it once, take a break and bleach again to get desired lightness. You will need a bleach packet, and 30 volume developer ( Once your hair is light enough for colors you will needs 1 or 2 boxes of the colors you would like to use depending on your length. I would suggest this brand ( for vibrant colors or Arctic Fox. The one n only is cheaper, makes your hair soft and has 2 use sizes in each one. Its easy to use. Arctic fox is just as good and even smells great too. Hope this helped.

i have dark brown hair.. i’m pretty scared of lighteners cause of what happened when i was younger (im 34 now) if i use this.. would the midnight blue even show up in my hair if i don’t use a lightener?

Asked by: monkish1
It might not show up. Or, it might make your hair an even darker brown. Think about the color wheel with acrylic paints. If you add a color that's not white or black to brown, it just gets more brown. Hate to say it but for the best results, you're going to have to lighten your hair. Bleaching your hair isn't that bad if you take care of it. I bleached my hair twice in two days to make it pale yellow for dying it purple. But because I soaked my hair in conditioner overnight between bleachings and have a hair routine that revolves around moisture and protein, my hair is soft, strong, and vibrant purple.

So i dyed my hair purple with Splat, and the color didn't take very well. I want to use this dye, but I'm concerned on if its permanent or not. My mom would actually kill me if i put permanent purple dye in my hair.

Asked by: cjhood13
Fashion colours aren’t permanent on the hair, it just stains it, so even if it fades, it might leave a tint on your hair depending on how light your hair is. Even though it isn’t permanent, it might stick to the hair for a long time. If that makes sense, sorry I’m not a professional but I’m passionate about hair colour.

Can this be used with a developer to make it more permanent?

Asked by: RavynG62
No! If you shampoo & condition hair after coloring less often and with cool water  it will last longer. I use the purple on myself and it does fades over time but, it still looks great.
