Rated 5 out of 5 by from This stuff is the bomb This is the best fashion colors hair dye I have found, hands down (and I have tried lots of different brands). I have tried the purple, magenta, and the dark blue, and all of them are very pigmented, gorgeous colors. But the biggest thing this dye has going for it is the staying power - this stuff lasts! I only have to touch up my color about once every 3 months (compared to other dyes, which fade after about 2 weeks). It also smells nice when you put it on, and does not damage my hair. Would definitely recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite! I have been using this brand for 2 years now and absolutely love it. The colors pop and the dye leaves my hair feeling like normal unlike other bold color dyes. I get many compliments and I’m always asked where I got my hair done and when told that my husband does it at home people are amazed and want to know everything so they can use the same brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this line I used this on my daughters hair to touch up a previous salon color. She is bleached under her semi colors. We used the hot pink, teal, midnight blue and purple. I love the way this doesn't use a developer and how bold the colors are. Will be purchasing again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Electric Teal: no damage, ALL the compliments Back story: Five months ago, my dark curly hair was overbleached by an inept stylist. I mean, platinum blonde mushy spaghetti with no curl overbleached. It was DEAD. He glossed it purple, someone else chopped the worst of it, and I ended up looking like Sia in a purple wig. (It wasn't even the right shade of purple!) The purple faded to uneven neon pink, and while the texture was improving with regular treatment, the color was sad. I went with Electric Teal because it was close enough to purple on the color wheel but dark enough to cover the tragic remains of my hair. It worked! I went in an extra from Trolls and dried off an alluring sea witch! Three months on, I am STILL getting compliments from strangers and friends are constantly asking if I've re-dyed it. You see, even as the color fades slightly, each new shade looks beautiful and intentional. It didn't set back my hair recovery, and the deep tealy green color lifted my confidence. I highly recommend this dye, but be warned that it transfers to everything, even now. Don't let fallen teal hairs dry on your white tile. Get a dark pillow case. Wash in cool water. It's worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! My girls and I have tried other hair dyes and my one girl's hair just doesn't take to color... Or so I thought! The 3 of us loved how vibrant colors and ease of use. We get compliments and asked if we had our hair professionally done. I will be using this product from now on!

i have dark brown hair.. i’m pretty scared of lighteners cause of what happened when i was younger (im 34 now) if i use this.. would the midnight blue even show up in my hair if i don’t use a lightener?

Asked by: monkish1
It might not show up. Or, it might make your hair an even darker brown. Think about the color wheel with acrylic paints. If you add a color that's not white or black to brown, it just gets more brown. Hate to say it but for the best results, you're going to have to lighten your hair. Bleaching your hair isn't that bad if you take care of it. I bleached my hair twice in two days to make it pale yellow for dying it purple. But because I soaked my hair in conditioner overnight between bleachings and have a hair routine that revolves around moisture and protein, my hair is soft, strong, and vibrant purple.

So i dyed my hair purple with Splat, and the color didn't take very well. I want to use this dye, but I'm concerned on if its permanent or not. My mom would actually kill me if i put permanent purple dye in my hair.

Asked by: cjhood13
Fashion colours aren’t permanent on the hair, it just stains it, so even if it fades, it might leave a tint on your hair depending on how light your hair is. Even though it isn’t permanent, it might stick to the hair for a long time. If that makes sense, sorry I’m not a professional but I’m passionate about hair colour.

Can this be used with a developer to make it more permanent?

Asked by: RavynG62
No! If you shampoo & condition hair after coloring less often and with cool water  it will last longer. I use the purple on myself and it does fades over time but, it still looks great.

what is the best way to remove the blue from my hair!!!! I've had this in my hair for months now and tried vitamin c treatments, bleach baths and NOTHING is removing it! HELP

Asked by: nicolaraviola
It's possible your hair has been permanently stained and the color won't be able to be completely removed. You may have to dye over it with a darker color. If you're trying to get back to a platinum blonde, it's unlikely to happen because some blues stain deep. That being said, I've used this method to get all kinds of deep staining out of my hair, it doesn't always work but it's better than trying to bleach the color out and just driving it deeper so it will never come out. MAGIC PROCESS: Fully saturate hair in coconut oil (or jojoba oil or olive oil if you're allergic to coconut), let that sit for at least an hour. Mix 1 scoop of decent-quality powder lightener into enough clarifying shampoo to cover your hair (usually 4-8oz, depending on length), add some more oil to that for conditioning reasons DO NOT ADD DEVELOPER, JUST THE POWDER. Fully saturate hair with the shampoo/lightener mix and scrub scrub scrub. If you see color pulling out, it's working. Continue to scrub hair until you feel like you've roughed up all of it, then cap for 20 minutes to 1 hour, depending on how damaged your hair is/how much more damage you think it can take. Rinse with warm/hot water to pull out the most color. Condition. Deep condition. (This process is very drying.) Repeat up to 3 times, stop if your hair feels too damaged, deep condition in between processes. If you can't get the color out past a mint color, dye over it with a pastel pink, then bleach that out, and it should pull all the color out.

I'm trying to dye my hair from a golden brown/light Brown to a dark purple, not with red tone. What color, or color combinations, do you recommend? Or should I try a different brand?

Asked by: Skye0419
I have used and trust only these dyes with my hair. They are very pigmented and are true to the color in my experience. I have used them on all hair types and colors (after bleaches and/or toning)

My hair is a medium auburn. I want to put the Scarlet red into my conditioner half and half to refreshes my red hair. Will this too too much?

Asked by: Lulu1010
It depends on how well your hair takes color, and how long you leave it in your hair. If you just want a subtle change I wouldn’t let it sit too long.

Does this work better on bleached or non bleached hair? I had my hair bleached, and dyed it red, and it faded out to like a strawberry blonde. My roots are very well grown out and dark brown. I don't want to bleach it again but I ❤ the midnight blue

Asked by: Jobean5270
i personally bleached my hair before using the midnight blue (and various other shades of blue, mermaid hair was the goal) and it turned out GORGEOUS! absolutely my favorite color i have ever used, out of the billions of time's i've dyed my hair. it lasted a minimum of 2-3 months before fading even the slightest, it was amazing honestly. so i'd recommend bleaching, if your hair can handle it, for best results. xx
