Rated 2 out of 5 by from Color won't take. Dyed my hair twice with this and it still came out splotch and uneven and way too light. I have two stars cuz my hair feels amazing but I'm super disappointed in the color. After three hours the second go and washing my hair in super cold water it still didn't come out how I needed it to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My all time Fav I started using this brand 4 years ago and haven’t needed another brand again. This is a gem. True to color as long as you prelighten it. Then lock in conditioner. I get plenty of use with each bottle because I only dye my bangs and I dye them in 3 different shades blended in the middle. The color last when using Ion Shampoo and Conditioner. I use the lock in Ion conditioner directly afterwards.. I also love nexus color shield before shampooing every time

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best I have tried other brands to get a nice dark blue but have not go the results i get with this. I just love how long the color last. And my hair looks awesome and feels great. If you want a color that will last you and wont make your hair feel gross I say buy this one!! you will have no regrets.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what I expected I had gotten Midnight blue and dyed it over my medium brown hair. Of course I know that I needed to bleach it in order to the get true blue, but I didn’t mind it being dark, so I skipped bleaching. Overall, my hair was a dark green/black when I was done. It’s not a horrible color, but I was expecting blue.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cheap, but not great coloring I bought this and dyed my hair with it yesterday, leaving the dye in for about 2 hours based on the suggestion of the wonderful people helping me. After I washed it out and dried my hair, the colour was not nearly the deep green I was expecting. It was pretty light and had a blue colour to it more than anything. I’ll definitely be dyeing it again to get the shade I want, probably using Manic Panic or some other brand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not what I expected, negative experience First off I followed the instructions correctly as I always do. Before this I had moderate to light blonde dye in my hair and pre lightened it as the instructions say. The swatch in store showed this would end up as a rich dark green. With prelightened hair, it turned out very light and desaturated. I even left the dye in for 4.5 hours and rinsed with cold water. So my advice, do not buy this or don't bleach your hair past medium blonde/bornzey blonde. Sally's does not carry the specific shade of manic panic green in stores I use, so I got this instead as I needed it right away. Lesson learned. This green is terrible.

what is the best way to remove the blue from my hair!!!! I've had this in my hair for months now and tried vitamin c treatments, bleach baths and NOTHING is removing it! HELP

Asked by: nicolaraviola
You might have to use straight bleach to remove it.

Does this work better on bleached or non bleached hair? I had my hair bleached, and dyed it red, and it faded out to like a strawberry blonde. My roots are very well grown out and dark brown. I don't want to bleach it again but I ❤ the midnight blue

Asked by: Jobean5270
i personally bleached my hair before using the midnight blue (and various other shades of blue, mermaid hair was the goal) and it turned out GORGEOUS! absolutely my favorite color i have ever used, out of the billions of time's i've dyed my hair. it lasted a minimum of 2-3 months before fading even the slightest, it was amazing honestly. so i'd recommend bleaching, if your hair can handle it, for best results. xx

how well does this work on darker colored hair?

Asked by: akayla442
You would have to choose a darker color dye. I have bleached my ends but my natural roots are dark brown. I have used midnight blue and the darker purple ones. Both stuck to my roots well but it will wash out faster. Wash in cold water and as little shampoo as possible helps keep the color. I kept the color in my roots for about 2 weeks and the bleached ends for 2 months.

I have dyed my natural medium brown hair, red a million times. What would be the best intense color for me, light skin, hazel eyes? That is without bleach if possible?

Asked by: Bella1217
My hair is light brown and it worked perfectly, but the color doesn't last as long as if you had white, bleached, or blonde hair.

Does it work on black woman hair

Asked by: Kristic1224
Yes it does, I'm black and have bought the electric teal color. I bleached my hair because my natural color is a really dark brown. I put the electric teal on and it looks amazing. I always get compliments and of course we're blessed because the color doesn't wash out easily from our hair. I've literally colored it a year ago and just do touch ups on my roots and it looks like i just colored it.

I want to dye my hair purple but I dont want a pink or red base I would like a blue base, I was thinking of mixing the blue with pure purple but I have not tried this dye or those colors before and would like to know if anybody else has ??

Asked by: Amber209
I used the Pure Purple by itself (on pale yellow lightened hair), letting it sit for 30 min. I ended up with magenta colored hair. At the suggestion of a stylist friend I went over it with the midnight blue, letting it sit for 25 min. It became the pure grape purple that I was going for. For redyes I'm just using a mix of the two colors rather than dying it two different times. I hope this helps.

I want to dye mine the lilac color. It was really dark red but I just bleached the. My hair is like a burnt orange. I can’t bleach it anymore my hair is really dry. Will the lilac cover the burnt orange? Or will I have to wella charm tone it before hand.

Asked by: 1mommof3
I'm not a beautician, but dye my hair religiously and have for over 30 years. I have dark hair and for any thing other than brown to really show up on my hair I have to bleach it. For 3 yrs I've used the purples on my hair. The lilac may not be as bright as you want it if your hair is only at the orange stage. I found it showed up better once I was able to get my hair almost white. Which was several bleachings. I wouldn't tone it as the color will be your toner. I hope this helps. One more note. I won't use any other colors but these. All other's I have tried rub off on you and your pillows. I also only wash my hair once a week to keep the color longer. Dry shampoo in between helps.
