  • 1) Shampoo without conditioner and dry hair. 2) Use protective cream around hairline on ears to prevent staining. 3) Remove the bottle cap and inner seal. 4) Wear protective gloves, empty desired amount into a bowl. 5) Continue to use protective gloves to apply color evenly. 6) Leave color on hair for 30 minutes or longer. For best results, cover hair with plastic cap, process with heat/blow dry up to 15 minutes. 7) Rinse hair in cold water away from the face.

*Color will fade with each shampoo and may last up to 40 washes.

*Color may last longer depending upon the type, condition, and porosity of hair.

  • While bleaching is not always necessary, Arctic Fox colors will turn out most vibrantly on hair lightened to around a level 8 / light blond range or lighter. Pastel shades do require the hair to be lightened to around a platinum range (level 10) in order to achieve pastel shades.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn’t even tint my hair Bought three bottles and followed all directions, and even had it on for fifteen minutes longer than necessary. When I washed the dye out it didn’t even turn my brunette hair into a darker brown, and my hair was untouched. Very disappointed, and a waste of $30.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from ****BEWARE ***THIS RUINED MY BLONDE HAIR!! BEWARE!! this will permanently stain your hair!!! Gorgeous color at first then fades fast after 2nd wash u start to see the color pour out at each wash after that and then suddenly you went from having an expensive time consuming beautiful blonde to a beautiful easy red purple to it getting on all of your new expensive clothing from the color literally rubbing off on your clothes!! To grey instead of blonde and now has BLUE AND GREEN SPLOTCHES AND STRIPS SO HIDEOUS I AM SO UPSET!! COLOR REMOVER WILL NOT FIX!!! BLEACH WILL JUST FURTHER DAMAGE HAIR AND HUE/TONE WILL STILL BE PRESENT!!! NOW INSTEAD OF GETTING BACK MY HARD EARNED BLONDE, I HAVE TO DO A DEMI PERM OR PERMANENT BROWN TO COVER THIS DISASTER!!! HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS DOWN THE DRAIN FOR USING THIS "SEMI PERMANENT COLOR" ARTIC FOX SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR MY HAIR TO BE FIXED AND THEN SOME FOR HAVINH TO FURTHER DAMAGE MY HAIR JUST TO GET BACK TO WHERE I STARTED!!!!

I have dirty blonde hair. Should I get frose, or electric paradise? HELP!

Asked by: kattyy1234
For the most vibrant result from any semi-perm dye you need to lighten your hair to platinum blonde. Froze is a pastel coral and would be incredibly subtle on unbleached hair, it might even tone your hair to more of a golden blonde instead of coming out pink. Either way it will probably wash out almost immediately. Electronic Paradise is much brighter with more pigment and would work better on unbleached hair, it will also last longer than a pastel.

If I am using one of the darker colors(the dark green specifically), will I need to bleach my hair until it is a light blonde, or would a level 6-7 be enough for the dye to take hold? I have dark brown hair.

Asked by: Beepboop
It all depends on how much the color to show.If you want the darker green to be very noticeable then a lighter shade of blonde would do the trick. If you just want a more suttel green then the level 6-7 would be great. But if you don’t do anything and just add the darker green to your dark brown hair it will be very pointless.

Asked by: FLAMINGAngel25
This was my exact same problem!!! Dang the natural red undertones!!! I didn’t lighten and have the best purple hair ever haha it’s great getting a compliment on my hair now that it’s “I love that purple” rather than hearing a comment about my red hair that isn’t even supposed to be red!!

My hair is dark brown do I have to dye my hair blonde before this purple

Asked by: mizzmorrita21
Depending on how intense you want the color to be. If you apply the purple to your natural hair, it will most likely only show in direct sunlight as a tint. If you want it to be more vibrant and noticeable, you will have to lighten your hair.

Does Arctic Fox work on natural red hair?

Asked by: MariaRed
As a natural red head, I learned (the hard way) that dyes like these are not meant for virgin hair.   It is best to lift (bleach) your hair to blonde and tone it before using these colors. I have found this works best for me to get the vibrant color I want.

Does this work on dark hair. I have dark brown almost black hair.

Asked by: TammyTanner
Yes, but only if you bleach it first. You aren't going to get vibrate colors from any hair dye unless you bleach first.

If I’m wanting to do this to shoulder length hair cut and golden blonde hair what developer should I use?

Asked by: Jadeelaine
This is a semi permanent hair color that doesn't need to be mixed with developer. Just apply as is. Unless you want it to be lighter you can dilute it with conditioner.

how many bottles do i need if i have medium to long hair?

If your hair is less than shoulder length, you might be able to get by with one. I'd probably go with two. If you have some left you can store it and use it later.

how long will the yellow last?

Asked by: jenna041202
It depends on your hair type. We purchased this for my husband with thick, porous, course curly hair and it lasted about two weeks. However, my thin, non porous strait hair holds arctic fox dyes for months.

How much conditioner do I use to dilute to get a pretty pastel, almost rosy gold color?

Asked by: Foxymomma8402
Depends on the color you use. There's no exact measurement, you just have to add a little at a time until you get the desired color. When I dilute my dye to make it a desired lighter color, I just add a little bit, mix it, and take a small sample and put it on a white napkin to see the color. If it's too dark, I add more and continue to until I reach the desired color.

Looking to.die the underside of my hair a hot pink. Right now it is naturally medium blonde. Would the color take well? I also have volume 10 developer. Would mixing in the color with the developer help out or be pointless?

Asked by: Dani Girl
Never mix a semi-permanent color with developer. I would use a low volume developer and bleach and lighten what you want to dye, especially if you plan on using a light pink.

If I want to dye my hair with arctic fox dye, what bleach should I use but I don’t want to kill kill my hair

Asked by: Badbabie2000
I used loreal quick blue and salon care 20 vol creme developer in a 1:2 ratio and left it in for 15 min. The night before, I coated my hair and scalp in coconut oil to prevent damage and scalp irritation which worked beautifully. My hair is a little yellow, which is fine because I'll be dying it blue anyway and it feels soft and not fried.

Does Artic Fox cover gray?

Asked by: Jenny pol
Yes, but not like bleached hair. I have sporadic grey/white hairs peppered through my auburn (which is also looking duller). Artic Fox will cover it and stay, but quickly wash out within a couple weeks, unless you bleach first.

i just recently dyed my hair a medium violet purple obviously i want it brighter, would it work with my hair already dyed?

Asked by: alexis21408
It would affect the color, but it wouldn't be the color directly from the bottle. You would be mixing the two colors. If you want your hair brighter, I would suggest just giving it some time. Most colors fade whether you want them to it not. Give it a couple weeks or a month, it will be lighter naturally. If you want to simply change the color, that's a different story.
