  • Brilliantly intense hair color No ammonia or peroxide Formulated in Italy Ready to use
ion Color Brilliance™ Semi-Permanent Brights are hi-fashion hair color shades designed to give vivid, boldly intense results. In 20 to 40 minutes ion Color Brilliance™ Brights deposits color on pre-bleached natural or color treated hair. ion Color Brilliance™ Brights can be applied to pre-lightened hair and natural or colored hair.
  • ion Color Brilliance Semi-Permanent Brights Hair Color can be applied two different ways.

    1. For the most vibrant result apply to pre-lightened hair. Pre-lighten with Ion Color Brilliance Ammonia Free Powder Lightener (not included) to the desired level of lift. It is important to note that the degree of lift achieved with pre-lightening will directly affect the vibrancy and intensity of the final result. Underlying exposed contributing pigment must be taken into consideration. If the hair is orange or a dark yellow this will contribute to the final color.

To achieve a boldly intense brights color, pre-lighten to the level indicated in the table below for each specific color. After pre-lightening, shampoo with ion Color Defense Shampoo. Dry the hair. Apply chosen brights shade directly on dry hair and process for 20 to 40 minutes depending on the level of color intensity desired. Strand test every 5-10 minutes. Heat is not necessary for processing if the hair has been pre-lightened. After processing, thoroughly rinse and apply ion® Color Brilliance After Color Treatment to close the cuticle and lock the color deep inside the hair.

    2. Color shine overlays on natural or color treated hair. Apply brights directly onto natural or color treated dry hair and process for 20 to 40 minutes. For more intense vibrant results, cover the hair with a processing cap and process with heat. Strand test every 5-10 minutes.

After processing is completed, thoroughly rinse and apply ion Color Brilliance After Color Treatment to close the cuticle and lock color deep inside the hair.

  • ion Color Brilliance Semi-Permanent Brights Hair Color are non-oxidative dyes that can be extremely long lasting and may become permanent. Apply to dry, pre-lighten hair.

Should removal be necessary from hair, it is important to know that lightener may not completely remove Brights from hair. ion Color Corrector is not recommended for removal of Brights. It is designed for permanent and Demi-Permanent color removal.

Always read the product packaging and inserts for complete directions, instructions, and warnings, and make sure to perform both the strand test and the patch test before applying your color.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Weak pigment gone after one wash I’ve tried these dyes in several occasions, every time I’ve been disappointed. The colour never reaches your desired shade despite how long the dye is left on and it always washes out almost immediately. Don’t bother wasting you money

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Blue ion semi permanent I used this in my sons natural blonde hair and it came out more of a greenish blue color than a actual blue but still very pretty! His hair isn’t platinum so I didn’t expect it to come out very blue. If your hair is a level 9 or 10 this would probably turn out to be a true blue!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE LOVE LOVE THE MAGENTA!!!! I bought Magenta to get my hair back to a solon color I got last year. I was a little worries that the color would look odd seeing as I put it over a pretty orange/Brassy bleach job my friend gave me in order to have the color show (I hate bleach but seeing as my natural hair is what's called "darkest brown" I had no choice). Needless to say the color took beautifully covered up the brass tones with no problems and looks fantastic!!!! I will definitely keep using this product and have already recommended out to a few friends of mine!!!! (Please ignore my bright pink scalp in the pics... I let my husband apply my color... While he's a great plumber he is DEFINITELY NOT A HAIR STYLIST)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dye Did Absolutely Nothing Despite bleaching my hair before dyeing (hair was at a level 9/10) the dye did absolutely nothing to my hair and after leaving the product on for 40 minutes, the hair still looked exactly like it did before i used it. Extremely disappointed with this dye, won’t purchase again. Got 10x better results with box silver dye

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this product I bought this back in May and have used the blue, purple, and pink. The purple (lavender) seems to fade out the quickest but i reapply as necessary. The color fades to lighter after a little while but it still looks nice.

I am dying my hair with the Azure hair color but want it to be slightly darker than the expected color. Can I mix the permanent color with the semi-permanent Sky Blue to get said darker blue? If I cannot, what can I do to get the blue darker?

Asked by: MamaMia2509
No! Mix it with another semi permanent- you can use the shark blue

I have medium brown hair. If I mixed the purple with the lavender will it help show more purple or should I just go with the purple? Will it show well? I’m not looking for super vibrant but I still want to be able to know it’s purple

Asked by: Blah blah kittens
Use just the Purple. And I recommend using hydrogen peroxide 3% to 20% to naturally and cost effectively lighten your hair a few shades. Leave it on for a few hours wrapped in aluminum foil. Then wash with just water, dry well, and apply the Purple. The purple will show up nicely. My hair is also medium brown and this is what I do to show denim blue at the tips of my hair.

For enhanced deposit we would recommend performing a test strand to ensure another application will provide the desired result. Application after test stranding and a desired result was previewed may happen at anytime.

Second time I used this product and it washed out after two washes. First time only two washes also which is four days. . I’m so mad and I put a color sealer on also. Does anyone know the address or phone number to corporate bc I want my money back..

Asked by: Hodimama
You can bleach first as recommended for dark hair. However you have got to put keratin back in your hair or the dye has nothing to bond to.

Do I need a developer with Ion Titanium semi-permanent color?

Asked by: Jakechar
It depends on how light your hair is. And how well you want the color to show. Light blonde shows the color at its brightest.

So I go to the store often and normally I’m dying my hair a dark color since I have dark brown hair however this time I would like to dye my hai a light minty green color. How much bleach should I use for my hair without causing major damage?

Asked by: RyleeB4673
In order to get your hair light enough to do minty green you will have to bleach it a lot and damage is unavoidable. You will have to bleach your hair until it is pale blond (almost white) to get mint green hair color to work. There are moisturizing treatments and protein treatments that can help mask the damage.

Does this coloring stay a while, or does it fade after a few washes? And is it a good color for dark brown hair?

Asked by: itsmeh123
It won’t show up well on unbleached hair. It will both fade from vibrancy quickly and stick around with subtle stain.

Washing your hair with cold water is the best way. That and washing as little as possible. Make sure you are using a sulfate free shampoo.

I have bleached blonde hair how dark will this come out?

Asked by: Caren 57
It depends what color you use and how long you leave the dye in. But if your hair is bleache blonde, it will be very bright and vibrant. You can always add conditioner to dilute the color to a more pastel color or leave it in for a shorter period of time so it's lighter and fades faster.

How long do you keep it in

Asked by: Turner 1
I usually do about a half an hour. I've been using it for probably about 8 or 9 years and I've used a wide variety of colors and had many different base hair colors (blonde and adding blue, light brown and adding red etc) and for me, a half an hour always ensures the color is deposited enough.

Is Brights Semi Color the same as a rinse if used on Natural uncolored hair?

Asked by: Dianel61
It would act as other semi-permanent dyes. The only real difference between using it on bleached vs virgin hair is that the colors would be brighter on bleached. On unbleached hair, the color will be duller or non-existent depending on your hair color, and it will, more than likely, stain your hair and never truly rinse out.

Do you need to add a chemical into the dye to make it develop? Like a developer?

Asked by: Cecelia1
Thank you for your question. Since this is a semi-permanent hair color, you do not need developer to develop the color. However, depending on how dark your hair is you may want to consider lightening your hair first before using a semi-permanent hair color.

Do you mix this with toner? It says ready to use on it but the clerk sent me home with tube of lavender and a bottle of 20 lift toner. My hair is natural color which is pure white.

Asked by: Confusedatbest
no, you do not add developer to semi permanent hair color. they are direct dyes so they will color the hair without any ammonia or peroxide. even if you did want to use developer, 20 volume would be too strong. you would use 10 volume if your hair is naturally white (but only with demi and permanent hair color)

should medium brown hair be bleached before using the bright sky blue

Asked by: mistylou
Yes. For bright fashion colors, your hair needs to be bleached and tonned until it is as close to white as you can get. If you aren't experienced with bleaching, I recommend going to a pro.
