  • This color is ready to use, do not mix with peroxide.

For pastelized results dilute Paints shade with Clear to desired color intensity.

    DIRECTIONS:

    1. Apply Paints either on dry , clean pre-lightened hair or natural hair lighter than 9.
    2. Develop for 20 minutes.
    3. Rinse thoroughly until water runs clear.
    4. Shampoo and condition as required.
  • Paints shows best on light hair. If your starting color is darker than a medium blonde, you will need to pre-lighten hair for more noticeable results.

Want a more pastel look? Add Clear to pastelize any Paints shade.

When applying product, apply liberally and massage in with fingers. Don't forget to wear gloves.

Paints is a semi-permanent hair color so no developer is needed - just apply from tube onto hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great quality hair dye I love the quality of everything that came in the package and that its a fun way to try color without being permanent. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great color I really enjoyed using this hair dye. Ive dyed my hair fashion colors before, and Wella is on-par with other brands I have used in the past. It is easy to apply and true to the color on the packaging. If you have long hair, it will take several tubes to cover your whole head, and you will likely need to pre-lighten regardless of your natural color unless youre already platinum blonde. I received a free sample from influenster in exchange for this review. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from didn’t work too well... My hair has never worked well with box dyes for some reason it just doesnt stick or stay. The color didnt show up well at all couldnt even get a good picture. Could be that I have brunette hair and it just works better on lighter colors. I wish it wouldve turned out more like other peoples photos I saw. But I guess you just have to chance it and see if it works. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ehh For starters I loved the smell (or lack there of.) I used it on my medium brown w highlights hair and it really doesnt look great. It looks like how my hair looked in 7th grade after dipping it in koolaid. It may work great on platinum blonde hair but its a no go for anything darker [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks Great At First The color looks vibrant. it is the color I expected it to be. Great for a semi permanent color. Wouldnt use on my whole hair but tips of my hair I would. My hair is naturally brown so it didnt go with my hair as in color combination. I wouldnt buy this color specifically but I would try the other colors they have. Rated 3 out of 5 by from Don't Expect Much Pigment The product itself is pretty solid. Doesn't smell bad, easy to work with, easy to wash out. However, even if you have light hair, the purple color I was given does up very pale and pastel, and not at all pigmented much. If you don't mind a more pastel color, go for it! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Color!!!! So first off my hair is black and after I lightened my hair and finally got the color on it went amazing! I got the strawberry color and its a super cute pink/red. So far I like it but I dont know how it fades yet so figures crossed! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

i want to do a light orange. my hair is brown, half is currently bleached - roots have grown out. going to bleach it back to hopefully an ash or platinum color. how well will the coral show up?

Asked by: yams1521
Don't do it. You do not have to make it ash. If you are looking to get a Orange color

how well does it cover gray hair? Do you have to leave it on longer?

Asked by: punkin47
If you do not use any developer it should cover it for a bit. This color can be very patchy and will fade quickly especially on grey areas.

Hola! I have a blonde pixie...the top of my hair is platinum and the sides are yellow - Im okay with the look, but for fall, and ‘back to work in a more conservative environment” Id like to darken it. Maybe caramel or brown? Any recommendations.

Asked by: Flammingjun
These are not really suitable for that. Prior to going brown, you need to do a “filler colour” since you stripped it to go platinum. So you’ll need to do a two step process. Use something in a Demi-permanent in a strawberry blonde, then you can go to your brown.

how does it work on dirty blonde hair and how will it come out when dyed?

Asked by: gianna565
I just did my 11yr old daughters hair with this. She has a darker dirty blonde hair and the color turned out great! I was worried you wouldn't be able to tell. But you definitely can. She picked the Red.

Will the color clear if my hair is a dark mulberry and I want to put clear on it will it come out clear???

Asked by: Anonymous
Will you hair color come out clear? No. The clear is just an additive to the color to make it lighter, like if you wanted a pastel purple instead of a dark purple.

Can I use the clear over my pre existing purple to lock my purple in and make it last longer or would adding the clear to my already semi permanent hair somehow mess up the color? I want to use it as a top coat to make my purple last even longer

Asked by: April971
in my professional opinion(master stylist since 2002),i would only recommend this brand of clear for diluting colors or creating pastel shades.tigi and pravana make a clear that would better suit you. and remember wash your purple hair in ice cold water with gentle color safe shampoo,no more than twice a week. you can also use color deposting conditioners as well

Does it work on Black hair? If not do you know any brands that do (semi-permanant)

Asked by: Lila1234
Do you mean "black" as in dark colored hair or "Black" as in "african" hair?
