For pastelized results dilute Paints shade with Clear to desired color intensity.

  1. Apply Paints either on dry , clean pre-lightened hair or natural hair lighter than 9.
  2. Develop for 20 minutes.
  3. Rinse thoroughly until water runs clear.
  4. Shampoo and condition as required.

Paints shows best on light hair. If your starting color is darker than a medium blonde, you will need to pre-lighten hair for more noticeable results.

Want a more pastel look? Add Clear to pastelize any Paints shade.

When applying product, apply liberally and massage in with fingers. Don't forget to wear gloves.

Paints is a semi-permanent hair color so no developer is needed - just apply from tube onto hair.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A lilac color, almost Not the color on the box, it was much lighter. But i do really like how it turned out.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not enough dye per container and low quality i bought 3 tubes to cover my whole head. i have a short bob cut that doesn't reach my shoulders. there wasn't enough dye to cover even half of my head. the color barely showed up on both the bleached virgin hair and previously colored hair which was freshly bleached. disappointed in the quality, amount, and color which was dull and faded coming out of the tube. when compared to the amount of dye for the price a tube of arctic fox is way better for your money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very vibrant and easy to apply! my hair is currently purple but was fading really bad in the front, so i decided to dye the front pieces pink. i used this dye after color lifting and it turned out so vibrant! i went over the purple with more purple to match the vibrancy and it looks beautiful!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wella Color Charm Paints in Mint [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this As a sample from influencer and I was not impressed. I just want it some peekaboo highlights on the bottom so that was how I applied though die with the help of a girlfriend. I waited the suggested time and followed all directions. I’m not sure if I didn’t use enough or what went wrong but it didn’t show up in my hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wella® colorcharm PAINTS™ [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I decided to try out Wella® colorcharm PAINTS™ as I was interested in a new hair color for winter! I really enjoyed how the products lasted and stayed in after many washes. I dyed some hair extensions that I had and they worked amazing as a nice cherry red color.

How does the blue fade? Does it start turning a light green? Or will it fade to a light blue?

Asked by: Eringiff

Can this be used on damp hair, i have forgotten the hairdryer!

Asked by: tomtom01
If your hair is wet it will dilute the dye and the dye will not work as well. Best to air dry your hair if you dont have a hairdryer. You dont want to have to do all that work and waste all the dye and have it not work properly just because you couldnt wait to dry your hair first.

How those it work on grey hair?

Asked by: Yumeta55
Semi/Demi permanent is not a good choice for use on grey hair. You want permanent.

i want to do a light orange. my hair is brown, half is currently bleached - roots have grown out. going to bleach it back to hopefully an ash or platinum color. how well will the coral show up?

Asked by: yams1521
For a semi permanent color to show, you'll have to get to three Platinum blonde. Semi permanent colors do not lift any natural color from your hair and therefore the color won't show unless there's very little color under it. Also, with the hair porous from being bleached, you will need to use great care in shampooing you hair or the color will wash out quickly.

how well does it cover gray hair? Do you have to leave it on longer?

Asked by: punkin47
If you do not use any developer it should cover it for a bit. This color can be very patchy and will fade quickly especially on grey areas.

Hola! I have a blonde pixie...the top of my hair is platinum and the sides are yellow - Im okay with the look, but for fall, and ‘back to work in a more conservative environment” Id like to darken it. Maybe caramel or brown? Any recommendations.

Asked by: Flammingjun
These are not really suitable for that. Prior to going brown, you need to do a “filler colour” since you stripped it to go platinum. So you’ll need to do a two step process. Use something in a Demi-permanent in a strawberry blonde, then you can go to your brown.

how does it work on dirty blonde hair and how will it come out when dyed?

Asked by: gianna565
I just did my 11yr old daughters hair with this. She has a darker dirty blonde hair and the color turned out great! I was worried you wouldn't be able to tell. But you definitely can. She picked the Red.

Will the color clear if my hair is a dark mulberry and I want to put clear on it will it come out clear???

Asked by: Anonymous
Will you hair color come out clear? No. The clear is just an additive to the color to make it lighter, like if you wanted a pastel purple instead of a dark purple.
