Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Dark Teal for Semi-bleached Hair Used on hair that had been previously bleached years ago but had become a faded brown/red. Gave me a gorgeous dark teal hue that has lasted through a couple of washes. Will definitely be buying another tub when this ones runs out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 10/10 would recommend Super easy application and is so vibrant! Put some pink in too in certain spots and now have many shades of pink, blue, and purple. Easy to maintain the look as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Faded oddly quickly, but blame shampoo not the dye This is a great color!! I used it on my fiancé’s pre-lightened hair and it looked great! The only drawback that I’m a bit confused about is that the color faded rather quickly.. I’m blaming my fiancé’s harsh shampoo, because I used to dye my hair blue and my experience is that it really stains your hair! So I don’t blame the dye, I blame his shampoo. Loooove all of their dyes and will always look to Manic Panic first for colors!

I use Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Coverage's Deep Medium Natural Brown to cover very resistant white hair. I want either some blue streaks, OR I want to do blue on top of the brown. Will After Midnight work? Would I use it the day after coloring brown?

Asked by: Jackie999
Hi Jackie! In order to achieve swatch results and a vibrant shade you apply the color to a clean blonde base. We can not guarantee the results you would receive putting this color onto dyed brown hair. For best results with Manic Panic hair color, we recommend pre-lightening your hair first to a pale blonde-level 9 or higher. This will not only help the color show up as vibrantly as it should, but it will also help hold the color in your hair properly. We would love to help you with the proper steps for this color! I have red hair, kind of magenta/Auburn. I don't want to bleach my hair so I'm wondering what color I'd end up with using manic panic after midnight.

Asked by: Muppet Lady
Hi! We can not guarantee what color your hair will be if putting After Midnight on top of previously dyed magenta/auburn hair. In order to achieve swatch results and a vibrant shade you apply the color to a clean blonde base. You can use a clarifying shampoo to gradually remove the color if you do not wish to bleach the hair. Results vary from person to person because everyone's hair is different, so regardless if you decide to bleach or not, we always recommend doing a strand test to see how the shade will show up on your hair. For more questions, comments, or tips please email a picture of your hair to customerservice@manicpanic.com.

My hair is lightened & roots growing in mostly natural gray -- I want very temporary color for COVID, don't want to have baby blue hair if we go back to work. W this eventuall all wash out, or will it stay/fade in my lightened hair

Asked by: OldLadyonABike
Hi! The longevity of our dyes depends on a number of factors, such as the condition of your hair, the base color, and the shade itself. Color also may not last as long in natural or virgin hair as it would in hair that's been lightened to a level 10 white blonde. Our classic semi permanent dyes fade gradually over 6 weeks. Some shades are very pigmented and vibrant, so for some people, it lasts longer in the hair and can stain overprocessed hair. Everyone's hair is different, so before applying all over, we recommend doing a test strip to see how well the color takes to your hair. If you need any extra help please feel free to contact our color experts via email customerservice@manicpanic.com anytime!

My hair right now is a teal/green/blue . I am wanting to go midnight dark blue .. would this do the trick?

Asked by: Rachlanae
Hi! We always recommend doing a strand test to see how the shade will show up on hair before applying all over. Before applying Manic Panic, prepare the hair with clarifying shampoo, do not condition, and blow dry hair completely. This process will make sure the cuticle is open, dirt/oils are removed, and the hair is porous. For tips, tricks, and more questions please email our color experts: customerservice@manicpanic.com.

Will this work on dark hair? Will the blue show up?

Asked by: Trublu24
Any darker shade of Manic Panic will give subtle results to darker levels of hair. The results will be subtle and most likely go unnoticed unless you are in direct light. Results and color longevity may vary depending on hair's natural porosity and natural color. For more questions or tips, please contact our color experts via email: customerservice@manicpanic.com.

What happens if it is mixed with 1 oz of developer 20? I mixed a small amount 1 oz or so before seeing that you weren't suppose to add develop. Is my hair going to be permanently damaged?

Asked by: Carol4892
Thank you for contacting Manic Panic! Using developer in Manic Panic hair color would not cause any damage to your hair if you accidentally mixed the two but it can dilute the color causing the results to vary. Manic Panic® hair colors are 100% vegan, cruelty-free semi-permanent direct dyes fortified with conditioners that add moisture to the hair and act as a filler for pre-lightened hair. Our unique formula contains no harmful chemicals, is gentle to the hair, and contains no animal by-products.
