Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love Arctic Fox. So many great colors I always love Arctic Fox and the color stays for a good amount of time for a semi-permanent color. I do recommend if you want it brighter to lighten first if you are darker haired, but this color would work fine on a darker color, as long as it wasn't black. Ritual is really pretty.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not work I just finished applying this to my daughter's medium brown hair. We did her whole head. Followed as instructed: washed shampoo only and dry, applied, covered with Cling wrap, applied heat. You can barely see it all, other than stains on scalp.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Too light I knew it was going to be light, nut this was so light it barely showed up on my wifes very light bleached hair. It made it look more blonde with a hint of pink. Had to get a darker shade. Artic fox is a wonderful brand, and the second dye was perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best! Works great on bleached hair. If you're naturally blonde, this isn't going to stay long and will 100% fade so quickly. I've used 4 of their colors now ranging from green to purple and will be trying a yellow next. Those colors all lasted for around 3 weeks at their most vibrant with me washing my hair every other day. After the 3 weeks the color was faded, but it was absolutely gorgeous faded as well, almost having a silvery tinge to the color. Never completely faded and I had to remove it before applying another color, even when I waited for 4 months. Smells great too and are super creamy. Really easy to apply.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product! I actually loved this! It smelled so good like berries and had a great pay off of color. The only thing I didn't like was how much it would bleed even a week after doing it. My ears, hands and neck would be purple and time my hair touched them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Color doesn’t hold I purchased this and one other color and the Poseidon blue faded just from being rinsed out. Once my hair dried it went from looking vibrant to being pale and almost grey.

Does it work on black hair

Asked by: Gomez4469
At most, you'll see some color in the sun, but not really. If you want to see the color, you'll have to lighten your hair.

i had dark brown hair then got it bleached to red now i want to try artic fox in electric paradise or sunset orange but dont want to bleach hair again, which color would be best, i want a bright color in those kinda shades

Asked by: greeneyes38
First do your best to fade the current color before application....otherwise your new color will just blend with the red giving you a unique color experience. Just a heads up that electric paradise is a peach undertoned pink and tends to be lighter and fades quickly. The orange will be the loudest color to change to. I would start there....and as an FYI, I have bleached hair to a light yellow tone underneath....the rest is my natural dark brassy brown. all those colors will color my brown too, but fades super fast. (about 5 days) Good-Luck, I hope this helps!!!!!!!

My hair is like medium to dark brown. Do I have to bleach or lighten my hair first for these colors to show up in my hair?

Asked by: Anonymous
If your hair is any darker than dirty blonde, it will just come out as a tint. If you bleach it, even just to a lighter brown, you will get much better results because your hair will be more porous, so it'll be more able to soak up the color and you'll get more vibrant and long-lasting color.

Hi I was wondering if these colors show up on dark Brown hair my little girl wants pink in her hair but I do not want to bleach it

Asked by: Christin4444
No, they will not show up. Maybe if you use a dark color like blue or purple, her hair might get a tint that’s shell only be able to see in the sun. Light colors like pink or lavender will not show up on dark hair.

Asked by: Nood4203
Use magenta hi color highlights to lighten and then use artic fox over that. I do the steps on two separate days. First the hicolor on dirty hair, air dry no products. Second day use artic fox and let that sit all day.

How does this work if i want to mix 2 different colors. can i just do equal parts with no developer?

Asked by: Cynthia01
I mixed equal parts wrath and poison (do not use developer for reasons stated above!!!) without any sort of diluter. I mixed it really well in the bowl and then applied it to my hair and it applied just find. However, keep in mind how light/dark your hair is and the colour(s) you're choosing. I have dark brown hair and I ended up with dark red hair.

Hi I'm looking into some hair color dye for my son (5yrs old) who wants purple hair but I don't want it to be permanent. I would just want it to last during summer vacation and for his original hair color to be to original shade by the time school starts.

Asked by: Annie1214
Honestly, your best bet is a committed styling wax or hairspray. Most direct dyes (semi permanent) will fade substantially with hot water ave dandruff shampoo but it won’t come out the natural color because it stains the hair cuticle. Depending on his natural color, it may still be purple come school time. Even some temporary dues may stain certain blond shades.

Hi! I have dark brown hair and my ends are dyed a regular brownish-red. I am interested in dyeing it purple. I want a dark purple, but I don’t want it to last super long. When this washes off, will it leave my brown hair again?

Asked by: Sil21456
I used purple on my light brown hair and it came out within two weeks. It stayed on the lighter ends longer and faded. But yes your hair color will return.

I have blonde hair naturally do I need to bleach out my hair before using this product I have no other hair dye on my hair it's all natural

Asked by: Cherry402017
This depends on a few things like what level of blonde is your hair currently at and how vibrant do you want your color to show up. If you have a dirty blonde shade, the darker colors like the purple, should take but not a vibrant shade.

Can you do semi bright colors from Fox in too dark hair?

Nope. Must bleach, otherwise you'll just get a minor tint. Quick trick: use a Crayola marker on your hair, that'll show the saturation you'll get

I have "Virgin Hair", I was wondering if it is completely necessary for me to bleach my hair if I want pastel colors. I am Planning to dye the tips of my hair a pastel color, I have black Indian hair, so it is very thick as well. Thank you!

Asked by: Arya2020
If your hair is black and you want a pastel color, I would have to say yes for the color to show. And with thick black hair, you might have to leave the lightening on for a long time. I have dirty blonde haired daughters and they all needed their hair lightened for the color to really show. My son-in-law wanted me to color his thick black Hispanic hair once. We had to leave the lightening solution on his hair for a long time. Even after that, what was suppose to be a dark purple turned out more of a rusty red.

I have natural ginger hair hand was planning on bleaching two stripes in the front and then dying them a creamsicle/ pastel pale orange. Would Porange do the trick or would it be too bright or pink toned? Also do you suggest diluting it with conditioner?

Asked by: Waldo222
Porange is a neon orange shade, so to make it a pastel, I would dilute it with a white conditioner or the Arctic Fox diluter.

Well this work to change the red color i did i used the same brand

Asked by: Fefemore
It depends on what you're trying to change it to, but most likely--yes. If you use a color that's meant for a level 10 blonde like periwinkle or neon moon, you probably won't see a difference, but if it's one of the darker colors like Transylvania, purple rain, phantom green, or blue Jean baby, it'll definitely change the color you have now. Keep the color wheel in mind when you dye over another shade: if it's still bright red and you use blue, you'll probably get something in the purple range. If you use green over red, you'll likely get weird muddled brown. I find that purple rain has some of the best coverage/dyeing capability, and the color fades the most nicely,  so I'll often use that one to transition between other dyes.

Can this be used on dark hair

Asked by: Alicialove
I had level 5-6 brown hair and I only left it in for 45 minutes and the colour was AMAZING!! It won’t be super bright and “neon” you’ll need bleaching for that but if you want beautiful darker coloured hair this stuff works. Put a good coating on just like any other dyes

Is "ritual" a Black color? I'm all white hair and want to do low lights to come out two-tonegrey or titanium kind of.

Asked by: Rosie1940grey
No. Ritual is a dark maroon. If your hair Is naturally all white, it will likely turn it a muted mauve. If it’s bleached white, it will be more true shade. The color Transylvania is black. Sterling is a silver color.

No you don't have to bleach your hair first...the shades poison and wrath will give your hair a reddish tint without bleaching. Ritual will also work but be more of a burgundy brown on your hair color. However if you want a vibrant, shout out red will have to bleach your hair.

Will this work on dark hair that's dyed hi color magenta right now

Asked by: Delgados
Yes this color works on lightened hair. If you have hicolor in your hair it means your hair was lifted and you deposited the magenta at the same time. If it’s grown out and faded, then it will refresh and enhance the color (if you stick with any of the reds or purples) but it will not affect any natural regrowth so if you’re looking to cover your roots you would have to either use hicolor on it or bleach it and cover with arctic fox.

Does it wash in and out

Asked by: Willow 2020
Im not sure what you mean by "wash in" but it does wash out. If you have bleached hair, it takes around 10 or so washes, if you're unbleached it lasts like 2 washes because the cuticle of the hair isn't lifted and your hair isn't porous enough to totally absorb the dye and let it stain your hair.
