Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not happy Bought the midnight blue black yesterday. I bought 2 even tho I had just cut my hair really short that day. I still went ahead and bought 2 to be on the safe side. Well, I used one last night. And didn't do anything to my hair other then leaving a redish hue to my hair..... So I thought maybe I didn't leave it on long enough .even tho I left it for the "recommended" time. So today (following day) I use the 2 tube. Left it in longer. Well...... Now it just looks like a dull black. Like a black you buy from a box from the dollar store. Which really sucks. Cause when I saw the lil display I really like the color that it showed but not happy with the results. Not yo mention did nothing for my grey hairs they look purole. I do not recommended. And I for sure will not purches this item again! Waist of money

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Highly dissatisfied I Had a terrible reaction to this am the employee who recommended it said that it would cause 0 reaction whatsoever Highly dissatisfied, will not recommend. The employee was extreamly rude, to myself and others costumers and didn't know anything about the products she recommended. Didn't even try. I went to the store closest to Walmart on Western Blvd in Jacksonville NC. Will never be there again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product. Great color. Covers my gray and is easy to apply. I buy a ton when it goes on sale and use every week or so to cover grays. Doesn't dry out my hair

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love ION because it has moisturizers in it I like the warm brown that I selected, but I think that ION should have continued carrying the light brown for more high lights.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic for What I Need This review is for the Plum and I have medium brown (semi dye) hair with white/grey roots coming in (about 20%). I mix it with my conditioner and leave it on for anywhere between 5 and 10 minutes, then rinse. This color and approach does result in a slightly purple hue at times (for longer treatments, particularly on my blonder ends) but does a really nice job toning my roots, adding depth of color to my brown, while also blending roots thus minimizing line of demarcation. It's like magic. Scent is good and leaves hair super soft and shiny with nicely toned color. Just amazing and precisely what I need to grow out my roots while avoiding dye.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Where is the blonde semi permanent? I loved the blonde shade, it blended my grey beautifully. Now I can’t seem to get it online or in stores. I have tried other brands that just don’t seem to last more than a couple of shampoos. Sally, please please bring back my color!

what's the difference between semi and demi permanent color

Asked by: sherry54
The biggest difference between semi and demi is permanency. Though both are temporary, demi lasts 24 to 28 shampoos, and semi lasts 3 to 6.

Can I add Absolute Perfection Booster Step 1 to this Semi-permanent color?

Asked by: Tere7419
No as this is a semi permanent, its deposit only. You can not add developer of any type, it would most likely change the color to an un desired one. You can add other deposit only semi permanent colors to each other is about it, I e done that with good results. But yeah you can not add a lifter or booster to it. You can however bleach your your hair first then put the semi permanent on top of the bleached hair once it's been washed and dryer for a more vivid result. Hope this helps.

I use the natural blonde. Where is it? I don’t see it as a choice but still in the picture. Can’t find in store either.

Asked by: Tammy L A
It looks like they are not carrying most of the natural colors in the stores anymore. All I can find now are the brightly colored ones, like pink. It’s a shame, but I have had to change brands now.

I have light brown hair with natural blonde highlights. I want to use black for about a week - I was wondering if it goes back to your old hair colors completely once it fades?

Asked by: chrissyxx
That depends on the porosity of your hair. It likely won't fade out completely, if it does, it will take some time and a lot of washing. Semi-permanent usually holds on for 4-6 weeks.

Can this be used to lighten a color prior to applying?

Asked by: westcoast
No, semi permanent colors don't lighten at all, you'd need permanent color, possibly high lift or bleach for that

I have dark brown hair &want fully black hair to cover a few grey hairs but I've seen a few reviews that say the black has a purple hue or fades to purple? How much will the color change? And how often can I dye my hair without doing too much damage?

Asked by: Jennifer94
You may want to counteract the purple hue with an opposite color, yellow. Take a small amount of the blond color semi-permanent hair dye, and mix it with this color. As an example, when using black, I used to get a greenish hue. I added the opposite color of red or brown to counteract the green hue. Just think of the color wheel, and that will give you opposite colors of the base colors. Hope this helps.
