Rated 5 out of 5 by from very cute I bought 2 thinking it wasn’t gonna be enough but one was plenty for medium length hair with thin hair. The color was a brown caramel toned but nice in the sunlight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The natural blonde is beige not brassy I bought this a while ago and tossed the box so when I put it on my over-bleached hair (it was totally white), I added 10 vol developer and mixed 1:1 and applied. Only AFTER I had this sitting on my head for 10 mins did I read online that you don't mix this with developer! Thankfully, it still worked and I now have a nice, natural blonde tone that is pretty and beige, not brassy. The Natural Blonde formula will give white hair a nice, natural blonde tone. I just hope it lasts a while!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the money! I wanted a change so I bought the Radient Raspberry. I followed the directions to the letter (which made no sense to put on wet hair, but who am I to argue.), let it set for 30 min and rinsed it out. Imagine my surprise when my hair went from brassy blonde to brassy blonde with pink highlights. In other words it didn't take to my hair at all. I wasted my money and for what?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mocha Brown is no longer available?! I would rate this product 5 stars, except Mocha Brown, the one brunette color in this product line that looked good on me, is apparently no longer available. :-( It was a nice cool brown. Warm browns just don’t work for me, and I’m not interested in reds, plums, etc. Just a basic, cool-toned brown. Why, oh why, did you discontinue it?!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Plum means Red I guess This product is red. On virgin light brown hair and on bleached lightened hair it is not purple in tone. Color lasted around 4 washes.

Is it ok to use leave conditioner, oil and cream on natural hair after installation?

Asked by: April456
Wait at least 2 weeks after your installation. Yes it is ok to use leave in conditioner on your natural hair. If it's oily, try and not to get to much on your installation,

will the raspberry dark blonde shade, or any color for that matter permanently stain my bleached blonde hair?

Asked by: cris1224
Permanently... no. But for a very long time, yes. There are ways to remove color when you are ready tho. Reds and blues tend to hang on the longest.

Do I have to bleach first then deposit for more vibrancy ?

Asked by: Roxy1923
In one breath I'd say yes, because the lifted (bleached hair), would indeed make it bright. In the other breath I would suggest just keep re coloring it with the semi permanent, its not damaging, until you see the vibrancy you want. The latter would my choice personally, Having tried both, its not worth it to me to bleach my hair because its so damaging. Hope that helps a little bit

does this semi permanent dye require developer?

Asked by: kristy a
The semi permanent does NOT require developer. It is the demi permanent that requires #10 developer. Both boxes look very similar so people often confuse the two. The semi washes out faster than the demi.

I have some red dye on my hair left ,I want to go might night blue, but don’t want to bleach it any recommendation? On what Brand, color and Develop to use?

Asked by: ReynaG1983
I was asked to comment on Ion Color Brilliance semi-permanent color, but I don't think this would be the right product for what you want to do. This product doesn't have any peroxide. I doubt that it would cover your dyed red hair, and I would be afraid that putting blue on top of red would make the hair purple.

i used blackest black for the semi permanent and im thinking of going permanent. however they dont have the same exact one in permanent so i was wondering what a good equivalent would be!

Asked by: kristinara
If you have been using the darkest of semi permanent color one should stay with the darker permanent color as well. If your considering a total new color then that’s another topic.

I use to use Demi permanent Argon color 5N and 4R...I want the ion brand and don’t know what colors to use. And, a developer as well.  Please advise?

Asked by: RosalieB
I have used Ion brand for over ten years with perfect results. I used burgundy brown semi color and did not need a developer. My hair was a rich dark burgundy with red highlights. However, in the summer I mixed burgundy brown demi color with an Ion hot red, more emphasis on the red with #30 developer. My hair was more red with rich highlights. Hope this helps.

I've never used semi permanent do I need to use developer or do I just use it out of the tube?

Asked by: michelle993ok
Honestly, it depends on if you bleach first and how light, and how intense you want the color. The developer makes the color go further (the tube last longer), can lighten the shade some, but will make it take better so it doesn't rinse/wash out as quickly.

What would be the equivalent of Level 6 natural brown demi or semi permanent color?

Asked by: OtherLisa1968
Demi permanents are easy to find a level 6 because the color would be labeled 6N for level 6 natural. However, for ion's semi permanents, I recommend either medium warm brown. If that's too dark, mix in some clear to sheer it out and if it's too light you could mix in some black.

What does the clear one do?

Asked by: Missfrancine
The clear from ion, as well as for any other brand, is basically just to add & or boost shine in your hair when mixed on it's own. If mixed with another color it will reduce the color intensity. I hope this helps you out

How often can you use this product? I just recently went brown from having blond hair for two years. I’ve only went to a hairdresser and I used this product and loved it to darken my brown hair but I don’t want to damage my hair even more.

Asked by: Kaylalynn7
As often as you want. Semi permanent color can’t damage your hair because it is essentially a stain and does not contain any agents that allow it to penetrate the hair. I use mine after about every 6-8 shampoos.

what's the difference between semi and demi permanent color

Asked by: sherry54
Demi permanent lasts longer, but leaves a discernible color line so everyone can tell you've colored. Semi permanent only lasts 6 or so shampoos, and does not leave a line. It washes out slowly and looks more natural as it washes out. It also does not damage your hair as much as demi or permanent color.

Can I add Absolute Perfection Booster Step 1 to this Semi-permanent color?

Asked by: Tere7419
No as this is a semi permanent, its deposit only. You can not add developer of any type, it would most likely change the color to an un desired one. You can add other deposit only semi permanent colors to each other is about it, I e done that with good results. But yeah you can not add a lifter or booster to it. You can however bleach your your hair first then put the semi permanent on top of the bleached hair once it's been washed and dryer for a more vivid result. Hope this helps.

I have light brown hair with natural blonde highlights. I want to use black for about a week - I was wondering if it goes back to your old hair colors completely once it fades?

Asked by: chrissyxx
That depends on the porosity of your hair. It likely won't fade out completely, if it does, it will take some time and a lot of washing. Semi-permanent usually holds on for 4-6 weeks.

No, semi permanent colors don't lighten at all, you'd need permanent color, possibly high lift or bleach for that

I have dark brown hair &want fully black hair to cover a few grey hairs but I've seen a few reviews that say the black has a purple hue or fades to purple? How much will the color change? And how often can I dye my hair without doing too much damage?

Asked by: Jennifer94
You may want to counteract the purple hue with an opposite color, yellow. Take a small amount of the blond color semi-permanent hair dye, and mix it with this color. As an example, when using black, I used to get a greenish hue. I added the opposite color of red or brown to counteract the green hue. Just think of the color wheel, and that will give you opposite colors of the base colors. Hope this helps.

people are saying not to wash my hair as much or the dye will fade quicker, does that mean to just not use shampoo and conditioner or what?

Asked by: tuffy788
Shampoo will strip the color out faster. So if you must wash your hair daily, using a co-wash will help. Also, doing a conditioning treatment once a week with 3 parts white, uncolored conditioner, to 1 part dye (Whatever color you have in) will help to maintain the color.
