Rated 4 out of 5 by from highlights but no drastic change I have used all three colors. Each gave my hair highlights but no drastic change. It lasts about six shampoos. It also made my hair smoother and softer. If you have darker than medium brown hair you probably won't notice results. To be faie to this product, several of the complainers clearly didn't understand the product. One complained it didn't clean her hair- this is not a shampoo! Two others mentioned mixing it with developer, which you are not supposed to do. I wish they would follow directions before they come on here and give a one complaining about a product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lvl 3 hair gone blonde nightmare--LET ME BE HONEST I have level 3 hair naturally, with even darker roots. On a whim over the weekend, I decided to go blonde. I've never had light hair before. My hair was virgin for the past 4 years so I could grow it out and in decent shape. Using 20 vol developed and blue PrizmLites, I just went for it. I ended up with reverse hot roots... darker/orange-y roots with perfectly lifted hair. I used Wella's T-38 (I wasn't trying to go too light or platinum.. I'm latina with med/olive skin) and my hair was perfect except the roots... which were super gold/brassy/orange. I groaned about it for 2 days then did something I shouldn't have (after consulting with a colorist friend): I did a bleach bath. With the same developer/bleach products and clarifying shampoo, I focused on the roots and waited til the hair was all even. When I rinsed, I wanted to cry. The brassiness was worse ALL over... but my roots looked like Homey the clown. I briefly toned using Wella T-28 this time, and wanted to cry again.. happy tears. My hair was considerably less brassy/orange and all the same color of blonde. However, even in my natural level 3 hair, there's a ton of gold/red/orange tones in my hair. So luckily in my last $75 trip to Sally Beauty to grab bleach and such, I grabbed a tube of this Platinum treatment on a whim (more for my wife because she is platinum) and decided to try it yesterday. I was desperate to be a decent blonde and not have to give up and throw a brown with 10vol developed in my hair just to look halfway decent. Boy am I glad I tried this first!! My hair was totally saved. I ended up a lot lighter than I expected but my hair is beautiful! I am dancing around the house, I'm so happy with the results after this treatment. Not only is it all blonde and no brass, but the straw hair I had before that I couldn't even comb through (big toothed comb) while wet was gone. In its place was super soft, shiny, manageable hair! I didn't think I'd find my holy grail blonde beauty product just a couple days into being blonde but here we are. I did! I couldn't recommend this enough. My ONLY gripe is the size of the bottle. 4oz for $9 is a bit steep, especially because I have fine hair but tons and tons of it AND it falls below my breasts, so I have to use a ton of product so I know it's going to go fast. I've been recommending it to ALL of my bottle blondies in the last 24 hours.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Really not loving the pink tinge... I bought this because I am a natural redhead and my color seems to be turning more of an auburn/brown color and I was hoping to get a little more red tinge back. I used it this morning as directed and I now have a pink tinge to my hair. I was not looking for pink!! It's especially noticeable anywhere that I have a lighter natural highlight in my hair. Not what I was looking for...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for between colorings I color my hair and I bought this to extend the color until I could go back to the salon. I received so many compliments on my newly "colored" hair. Was it as good as a coloring? No. Did it help extend my color until I could get back to the salon? Yes!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Aging redhead I bought this three weeks ago and use it as directed. It colors my naturally colored red hair darker and blondes the gray. I'm so happy that my hair does not look as old.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Shockingly lack luster It quite literally... did nothing... it smells good, but so does the rest of Biotera hair care. Shockingly disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not what you expect I recently bought this item because I am unsure if I want to change my hair color or not. I have light brown hair with some natural highlights. I have been wanting to go burgendy for awhile and thought this might be a great product to try! I was super nervous because the color of this product is a very bright purple. I replaced it as my conditioner, like you’re supposed to, and I left it in for about 6 minutes instead of the recommended 1-3 minutes. I blow dried my hair and my hair was super soft! I used no other product or styling product. So this does make your hair soft! But as for color, nothing. I even tried it again a few days later and left it in even longer, and again, no color at all. It is great for a conditioner though!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works for my red hair I was very happy with this product. I spend a lot of cash getting my hair colored an awesome red but as we know, the reds fade quickly. This gave my hair a nice burst of color. It's a great value even considering the size. I've tried some very expensive color added conditioners that left my hair feeling like straw. This is a great conditioner as well. It will definitely stain your hands, the shower, etc so rinse immediately.

I have dark blond hair, and died my hair a dark chocolate color about 8 months ago. The color has since faded to red. The line is not super visible but bugs me. Would the platinum color tone down the red at all? Its between this and blue shampoo.

Asked by: tbonkers
The blue shampoo only neutralizes yellow and orange and the toner will neutralize some of the red but the red is darker then your natural color you would have to lighten the ends somewhat in order to get rid of more of the red. A soap cap of bleach and 10 or 20 volume mixed with some shampoo on the ends only and leave it in while you masssage it thru the ends till you see less red might do the trick then you could use the violet shampoo to tone it and it would look a little ombré ish....    hope this helps!!!

What is the best hair color for a 72 year old woman? I have very light blonde hair(box color) fair skin and blue eyes.

Asked by: Mamanonna
This sheer illumination truely is meant for people who are already red wishing to extend or refresh...on a blond its not a natural look. We have similar coloring. I am most complimented when u have darker blind and red streaked at a beauty salon-im too pale & getting too old for all light blind. If you need to do it yourself all ine color I recommend a lirel redish blond & not this tint.

I have dark brown hair with Carmel highlights in plus got gray hair mostly  my top my head which I can't stand. Which color be the best to use and I won't see those gray hairs.

Asked by: Jelly bean
I have the same thing.  I use Ion DEMI Perm Medium, Light, and Lightest Ash Blond colors in different combinations.  Using Demi keeps the hair looking more natural as the color is slowly washed out.  I have long hair and color the roots about every 2 weeks.  Sometimes that leaves the ends looking a tad lighter, but natural looking.  Once you strip the color from your natural hair and go permanent, you are a slave to that awful line that comes out at the roots.

I have been using it daily, the copper tint, and it highlights the red tones in my hair, doesn't get rid of grays, but looks very nice. It is moisturizing and feels very good on my hair. Is it safe to use daily like I have been doing?

Asked by: crnacc11
Yes , my granddaughter, who is 12 uses it everyday for the last year and her hair is fine and beautiful!

I beed to keep my copper color I have used color refresh mask by roux I understan that is discontinued what di you recommend it was 740 copper

Asked by: Lourdes Quan
I recommend the copper tint. I personally use the red and copper to achieve a gorgeous balance, my color is a mix of 6RC and 7R. These tints are a life saver for color, between them and dry shampoo it really helps my red stay vibrant. Hope this helps!
