Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ultra violet is a no go I bought it to try a different toner when I touch up my roots I usually use well a t18 as for the ion bright whites ultraviolet cream toner it did not take none of the brassiness out of my roots I have miscolored hair for some reason and it was only on my roots I'm a little angry about this and kind of want my money back and now wish that it wasn't 9:37 p.m. at night and that it was daylight so I can go and get me some Wella t18 to correct what the ultraviolet has done I do not recommend this product and I hope I can get my money back and or some compensation or something cuz I mean like this is wrong because the employee at Sally's today told me that it would be okay to use it and that it shouldn't mess up my hair and it will take all the passing us out of my roots when I touch them up and everything she recommended and said that would be okay to do did not happen...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Tuned my hair DARK GREY I normally don't write reviews, but I don't want what happened to me, happen to someone else. I was happy to try a new toner. I had bright blonde hair that needed a toner to take a little yellow out. I was an easy level 9 and some areas a level 10. I used Snow Cap with a 10 volume developer. I was watching closely and QUICKLY, my hair turned grey. Not a pretty, slight white/grey, but a dark, mousey grey. I washed it three times and had to do a bleach bath just to get it somewhat bright again. I was SO upset. If you have a porous, bright blonde, please don't use this toner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding results just fades quickly Athais line of toners are my most favorite toners at Sally's to use. Icy white and snowcap are my go to and must haves for toning my hair. I juat wish they lasted a bit longer before fading/becoming brassy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautiful, short lasting Obviously not a hair stylist. This didn’t completely even my uneven bleach job but it did get my pretty white. After two weeks it was yellowing again though even though I only wash my hair twice a week. So I’m just going to start toning my hair every two weeks because it’s the whitest toner I can find. I bought the strawberry one but next time I’m getting the whiter one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Makes hair darker, but lasts longer I used 9 volume developer and it lifted the roots, but also darkened my hair from a level 9 to 8. It did neutralize the brassy tones and lasted longer than others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ION SPRING BLOSSOM TONER People who are giving ION toners and toners in general bad reviews don't know what they're doing. ION toners (all toners) are SHEER coating the color pigment inside your hair shaft "toning" it. Toners can NOT tone hair color levels below a level 10 (palest blonde/no orange/gold) the way they're meant to be colored. Yes, toners can tone level 9 (yellow) blonde hair but even then it will NOT turn out as it's meant to turn out on a level 10 palest yellow blonde hair. You can NOT tone hair that's already colored. Toner will NOT lift color or tone it. Instead of trying to bleach out the box dye color in your hair or other permanent colors from your hair use a hair color remover first! One and Only makes a hair color remover that works really well. It stinks really bad, so what, use it. Follow the directions exactly as written. Don't skip any steps. The third step is to show you if you still have any permanent dye left in your hair. It oxidizes it making your hair dark again. Do the third step! if your hair turns darks again then do the entire process over doing ALL of the steps until your hair doesn't change color. Your hair will end up a weird orange, orange-gold, or gold color. Now you can bleach your hair! Bleach your midshaft hair first! Only do this part of your hair. Do not do your roots or your ends. Once the first bleaching of your midshaft hair is complete if it's lifted to the palest blonde level 10 then you can bleach your roots. If the midshaft was lifted enough keep bleach off of it. Your roots will lift much easier than your midshaft or your ends. The midshaft of your hair is the most difficult to bleach. Never allow your roots to grow out more than a one-half inch to an inch from the root or you will get banding. Once all of your hair has been painstakingly and properly prepared for toner then tone it EXACTLY as the directions tell you. Use a porosity control product on your hair prior to toning it. Tone the areas of your hair that are the most porous last! ION toners allow for two developer strengths being 10 volume and 20 volume. If you choose 10 volume the toner will coat the hair shaft barely penetrating it. The toner will appear darker and it will NOT last as long. If you use 20 volume developer the toner will penetrate further into the hair shaft toning it more deeply. The 20 volume will slightly lift both virgin and hair free of hair color. ION toners will shimmer a faint highlight color but ONLY if you use 20 volume developer. I use ION Spring Blossom toner on level 10 palest blonde hair (No orange, no orange-gold, no gold) with 20 volume developer. It tones my hair to an ashy beige with a super faint pink highlight/shimmer. My hair does NOT look pink in any way. ION toners are toners NOT hair color. You have to do your research. You have to educate yourself before you begin using a bunch of serious chemicals on your hair. You have to know what hair type you have, whether it's colored, what kind of hair color, etc. Anyone complaining about ION toners or toners in general usually say things like, "The toner turned my roots orange!" No, the toner didn't turn your roots orange. Toners are NOT hair color. They don't color your hair. Toner is SHEER, it coats the hair color inside of your hair shaft toning it. The orange root people already had orange roots and when they toned their hair the parts that could take the toner were toned leaving the parts that couldn't be toned as they were, orange! When you get a toner you need to know its base color/colors so you can choose the proper toner to neutralize the underlying color molecules in your hair shaft. Blue tones orange leaving a more gray tone. Purple tones yellow leaving a more silver tone. ION Spring Blossom is a red-violet toner. It looks mauve (pinkish purple) when toning. The lighter your hair is when you begin toning the more your results will look like they're meant to look. REMEMBER TONERS ARE SHEER THEY DO NOT COLOR YOUR HAIR. They tone the existing natural color pigment in your hair shaft. If the existing natural color is too dark the toner will NOT work. Toner rant over.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more yellow For people saying this product is bad does not know how to use it correctly and adjust the formula to reach own color goals. So directions should be read. Also don't be afraid to mix shades. My perfect combination for white hair consist of mixing 3 different shades. I've tried just about every toner out there to get as close to pure white hair and this has been by far the best in 10 years. I'll never use any other brand

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Creamy toner I love how creamy this toner is. When mixed with a creamy developer, it just stays in place while you wait for your timer. No more running. Since the color is dependent on the color of the hair being toned, I cannot comment on how it came out on me. It likely would be different for you. I can tell you that I like it, though.

I swear they don’t know anything about the profucts.

I have naturally dark brown hair. I want to change to light ash brown. My problem is that it turns so red. What toner could I use to calm it down?

Asked by: ShelleyH
Use light ash brown hair dye, then use blue shampoo if you end up with orange or red tones. Start out leaving the shampoo on your hair for a couple of minutes then increase the length of time you leave it on until you determine the proper amount of time for the results your looking for. ( don't want to end up with blue hair, as it can stain your hair if left on too long). I hope this helps. Im not a professional, but I've been dying and bleaching my hair since I'm 15, and I'm a natural redhead, so I've done the get the red out thing for a long time. Was strawberry blonde as a teen then I did enhance my red for about 25 years, then was black for several years, and now I'm platinum ( can't fight the grey anymore lol), and I did it slowly over a year and a half. My point being i do have quite a bit of experience with dying hair and color outcomes working from color theory. Good luck, hope it turns out just as you want it to.

Does this product come off with washes? If yes how many will it last?

Asked by: Gray question
It's good for about 3 weeks if you wash your hair 2 to 3 times a week. Use a purple shampoo too to keep brassy tones down.

I dyed my hair a boxed burgandy and did not like the results. So i then purchased one of your lightening kits and Icy white toners plus a volume 10 developer. My question is will this give me the salt and pepper results that my hair was originally?

Asked by: DarlaH43
Your hair has been chemically changed by the permanent hair color, you can strip the color out using the lightener and follow up with a toner but your hair will not go back to the color that it was before you used the box color. What happened to natural blonde color in ion bright white cream toners?

Asked by: Going naturally white
There is no such thing as natural blonde color in toners. Toners are just that they tone the existing color and nothing else

I have box dyed hair. I bleached it and it came out this orange/brass color. I’m not sure if I need to bleach it again and tone it or just tone it. and if so what toner do I use?

Asked by: Kenna1999
You probably need to lighten some more. You could do a bleach bath, since you're at a orange level its less damaging. Wella t11 and t18 give a nice oatmeal tone. If you can't get pass the orange stage.t14 your best option.

I recently dyed my hair from a yellow light blonde to a neutral dark blonde but now my hair is more light brown and reddish. Can I use a toner to help tone down the red? If so which one? Thanks!

Asked by: AZurn822
You need to get Color Oops ( short hair 1 box/ long hair 2) it will take all the yellow and orange out! Trust me it is a miracle worker! That may do it all for you! If you still have a bit of brass then pick a toner. You want a blue or purple based shade. Any brand light ash blonde should do it!!!! It really depends on how light/ dark you want. Use Volume 10 for darker shade 20 for lighter! I use Ion Spring Blossom and have very light hair ( Love this toner)  True Color Sunset ( actual permanent dye) is also great if your hair is darker. It's a beautiful blonde/ beige! Good luck!
