Rated 1 out of 5 by from gross muddy grey color and it smells bad I had level 9 hair, a pretty light blonde. My goal was to tone it to a platinum, white, or light silver--I was pretty open minded to what the result could be. It ended up becoming a really gross beige-y, green-ish, muddy grey color that straight up looks nasty! *instant regret* It also smells bad, and the scent is pretty strong. I should've listened to the other reviews :(

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful Had hair bleached to platinum blonde and obtained this product by store rep to use to get hair to a crisp Snow White. The result? Dingy muddy looking grey. It darkended my hair and I followed the instructions to a T. Even read the stup review on her calling for 45 minutes. Nothing. Washed with both purple shampoo and clarifying shampoo no effect. Going to a wedding In 2 days and am now stuck with this god awful mess. Do not buy unless a mast dingy grey is your goal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gets the job done Alright, reading the reviews, it's clear that people aren't using this for what it's intended purpose is, so I'll explain. First, a toner is not hair color. Toner essentially removes the yellow or orange build up on your hair. It will "lift" your natural color, but only if your natural color is blond-ish, like strawberry blond or dirty blond. It brings out the natural highlights in your hair, but it will NOT color it. You are supposed to use this AFTER you dye your hair blond (if you want to make it more platinum white) or if you just want to lift your own personal blond color. You'll use this with the 20% developer. I leave mine in for 35-45 minutes. It will look like its very dark when its on your head processing, but I assure you it will not make your hair darker. Once you rinse it out, you will see that your hair is slightly lighter and more highlighted. Let it sit for at least that long or you won't see proper results. Don't just put in your hair for 10 minutes and think that'll work. You need to commit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dingy grey color I applied this to dry level 9 blonde hair, as per box instruction, and it turned a horrible swampy color. Only left it on for 10 mins because i knew it was getting too dark. Ironically, It didn't actually remove any yellow it just added a greenish dull grey color. Hopefully this will fade quickly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Turned silver/grey I wanted to go from washed out pink/blonde to white. I used another product to remove the colour from my hair, and was left with level 9 yellow-blonde hair. The instructions in the box to "tone" the hair said mix 1:1 with 10 vol developer and process on the hair for 15 mins. About 10 minutes after the first stroke, I was halfway to three-quarters done the application when I noticed my first strands were DARK. I had to wash out those parts of my hair in the sink as best as I could to stop them from processing before trying my best to finish up the rest of my hair, but it developped unevenly and the parts nearest the roots kept yellow undertones. Overall, not happy with this colour, unfortunately.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bad instructions The instructions on here compared to sheet that comes with it are so different. I'm scared to even go rinse my hair. And it doesn't say anywhere do I shampoo it out or just rinse?!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Turned my hair gray Was strongly recommended by a sally employee. My crew cut hair was already blonde (bleached 2x with quick blue), thought this toner would lift it to platinum. Used a 20 vol developer and left it on for 30 min and I ended up with gray, dull hair. Disappointed, but it’s part of me figuring out what works best for my hair. Now I’ll be using purple shampoo (again) to try to brighten it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It toned I used it last night and it toned the brass and yellow straight out of my hair.

Is this best color to give me white blonde hair?

Asked by: pinkbunnys
It depends what color your hair is before you use it. This does not add any color or "bleach"/lighten your hair. You want to lighten your hair first (you can use ion color brilliance bright white creme lightener mixed with ion sensitive scalp creme developer in 10-40 volume depending on how dark your hair is to begin with for that) then use this if your bleached hair still has yellow or brassy tones to it, to make it white.

My hair currently at like a level 7-8. What level does my hair need to be at for this to work?

Asked by: Typicalpalina
I’m not sure what level it is, I think 10 but it needs to look like the inside of a banana peel. Pretty much white with yellow tones.
