Rated 5 out of 5 by from Snow cap Love love love the snow cap color for blonde hair, it’s the perfect creamy white toner without the leaving any gray or purple undertones to the hair. It’s a much richer classier color toner than Wella t18 toner. Leaves my hair shiny and a perfect vanilla icy blonde shade. Love it

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good blue toner I dyed my brown hair honey blonde and it came out orange. I used this with the matching developer and it removed the brassiness from my hair so that it looked like the actual color on the box. I have natural 4b hair for reference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ivory I have been doing blondes for a long time 30 years and this ion cream toner ivory with 10 volume for 20 minutes is just absolutely gorgeous. I don’t know how they get it to shine like this. I am talking about on pre-lightened level nine or 10 hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect toner I love this toner for the perfect lift to my blonde hair. Gives just the right amount of tone to the brassy tones to make them appear more gray/platinum hue.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mixed Icy White with Lavender Moon- disaster I bleached my hair to a level 8/9/10, 8 being the under the occipital bone to nape of my neck, and it becoming lighter to a 10 on the front crown area. This isn’t my first rodeo, I am familiar with colors and color theory, and while not a professional, I do my own hair all the time and even do it friends and family. So I thought it would look fantastic, a bright silver with a hint of lavender to add dimension. I used both 10 and 20 volumes (equal ratio) mixed together first and added the toners using the recommended 1:2 ratio, and mixing completely. Used a brush to apply, to ensure all hair was covered and saturated. I washed it out after 25-30 minutes, I kept checking on it so it wouldn’t pull too dark. My virgin roots on the top of my head that were bleached evenly root to tip were still bright blonde, and just below to above my ears was bright pastel blue! Down the shaft it was a dull silver, and the back of my head where I was about a level 8/9 was no different than before the toner. I had rinsed it very well, and it felt... tacky? I wrote that off as “hurtin’ hair“ from the lightening process. I walked out of the bathroom and both of my daughters were silent (there’s a first) with shocked looks on their little faces, and rounded the corner and my husband was also at a loss for words! Another first. I immediately thought “Well let’s scrub this mess out!” And shampooed twice, and the blue faded a bit. I let it air dry, and slept on it and my next move. This morning after dropping the girls at school, took the day off from the office and ended up trying the dish soap remedy, but ultimately opted for a Soap Cap/Bleach Bath. I’m now a level 10 all over, and about a small handful of hair lighter, after the stress I put my hair through. I went to Sally’s and talked to the manager, and she agreed that many people have had problems with this particular product. I showed her the pictures of my hair, we had a good chuckle over it, because by then I could laugh at myself for it. She then directed me to a different product, which I am still eying suspiciously... hopefully it results in something that I can enjoy, even though it’s different than my original plan. I will post the pictures I took this morning, they are after the double shampoo results, wish I would have taken one before that, it was quite a sight! I will also post pictures of where I was trying to get to, and the last being what it looks like after removing the toner via bleach bath. If you plan to mix two tones, please seek professional advice from the staff at Sally’s! They may have more insight on the best and worse possible outcomes!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Platinum Lace vs Spring Blossom Platinum lace is nowhere near the swatch. My hair was almost totally white after bleaching my roots. Now it is dark grey. My hair is now really really really dark... I am hoping it fades and I can retone with the spring blossom. Platinum lace is for people wanting grey not blonde....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Got what I wanted So I was in the process of getting my hair to a nice platinum, all at home. This was the third time I bleached my hair in a span of three months. Is used lavender moon and snow cap with two parts 10 developer. the first few days my hair was a nice light purple grey, and a couple weeks later, my hair is a nice platinum, I love it. Next time I’m mixing Icy white with lavender moon to see the results.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It does NOTHIN I bought Lavender Moon yesterday. I was pretty excited to try it but unfortunately this stuff doesn’t work. It doesn’t tone the brassy color in my hair. This just make my scalp burn for 15 minutes straight. But the wella toner instead!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A year ruined I've been growing my hair out for a year trying to go natural. I wanted to tone out some of the brassy old blond I had get rid of that stark line I had going on. This product is straight up bleach I have just wrecked the year of growth I had. Thank you to the consultant at Sally's who just ruined my hair. Many times I told the consultant I did not want a permanent change something that would wash out, I highly doubt this bleach is going to wash away.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Made my white hair gross gray I bought it today, my hair was white, all for my roots which were brassy, so I applied the white toner, snow caps, which in the store advertised turning your hair WHITE, it had white as the hair example. Now my hair is this disgusting ash grey color I hate it so much.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed Normally I love Ion products but I was really disappointed in Lavender Moon. I was hoping to tone my blonde hair to a cooler shade before my vacation, but instead it turned my hair a darkish grey with brassy roots. I used Ion 10 developer and didn’t even leave on quite 10 minutes because it was looking really dark. I have scrubbed baking soda/dishsoap in my hair, lemon juice, peroxide and though the gray has faded from dark to light, it is still grey!! If it doesn’t wash out soon I’ll probably have to cover my whole head in a dye. I really wasn’t looking to have to dye my hair again for quite some time. Wish I never bought/used this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely stunning line of toners These toners provide gorgeous color deposit or a slight tint, depending on how much developer you use! I've tried several of their shades on my platinum hair, love every one! They also leave my hair incredibly soft and shiny after application. I truly hope they never discontinue this line!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Modern Beige my hair is 90% + gray, I don't permanent color anymore but I have been experimenting with toners (T18 etc). I had silver toners last year and this summer I used a little bit of a fashion color (rose+orange) giving me a salmon-coral blended with my gray that washed away to a very beautiful super pale pink coral. But my roots were already like 3 inches out (gray) so I had a big root line of gray contrasting awfully with the rest. I also was getting tired already of the fashion color, so what I wanted to do was blend my roots and unify all my hair to more a blonde than a silver... I was gonna use T11 but they didn't have it in the store. Picked this Modern Beige and T15 and decided to use this instead of the T15, after watching a review online a girl saying her hair came was very uniform after using this toner. I was hesitant because I used I think Snow Cap before and did nothing to my hair. Absolutely nothing. But I am very happy with this result. It blended my mess more than expected. I think the formula perhaps was changed since this Modern Beige I believe it's a new color. Very happy with the results. Used 20 vol. Let's see how it fades and how long will last.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gentle on hair I usually use redken shades but didn’t have time to wait for shipping and decided to try this out. With redken shades I apply to towel dried hair and can only leave it on for like 5 mins and I was thinking this would be similar so I tried to do that with this and it didn’t work at all so I tried it again on dry hair and left it on for 30 mins and the tone turned out very pretty. I actually like that it took longer to process bc it gives me time to get it on all of my hair and processed evenly. Left my hair super soft and shiny, will buy again but next time will go with lavender moon to deal with the gold.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lavender Moon Is Magic! I absolutely love this product! It’s so gentle you can use it immediately after bleaching! It gives my hair a pearl-like shimmer too!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from personally i love it i used this in the color lavender moon and i loveee it. my roots were white while the rest of my hair was more yellow and it turned my roots pretty silver, which i expected and it subsided with a few washes. the rest of my hair turned a beautiful ash blonde/white/silver in some light. also-- youre only supposed to use this with 10 vol developer. if you use anything higher it will lighten your hair more before depositing the color, and can cause more damage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent I've been using these products for a few years, Lavender Moon being one of my favorites. By no means did I go to school for this but I get many complements because of these products. I also have used Snow which didnt give the results I was looking for. Mixed with 10 developer. It's somewhat patchy near the crown of my head. My buzzed back area is darker but will fade nicely to make it even. Time to add the Lavender semi permanent in a low light style.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from just add conditioner i used this to tone and i decided to mix as directed but added prob 2-3 oz of conditioner. my hair tones to an extreme so i always end up with super purple or silver especially on the bottom. it worked great. i also used a 10 developer. hope this helps. when i started my roots were bleached to a pretty light yellow. i also rinsed with a purple shampoo. it came out more of a beige blonde

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for touch up toning I mixed 2oz snow cap, 1oz icy white, and 6oz of 10 volume developer and left it on for about 20 minutes. I was looking to correct the overly gold hair that I had going on from the last time I toned my hair (about 3 months prior) results were awesome if your afraid of alittle silvery tone reflecting in certain light, dilute the mixture or leave it on for a shorter amount of time! Left my hair smooth and shiny!

Which is the whitest toner you carry? I used snow cap but it made my hair darker than it really is.

Asked by: Ocean waves
I too had used snow cap, but have since changed to Blond Brilliance platinum which has given me the white hair color I desired. I am a natural dark brown so I used Ion's creme lightener to bleach out my hair to get to the lightest first, I think you will like what you wind up with. Please post how things worked for you

I have already lightened my hair to a very light pastel peach color. Will this color take in my hair?

Asked by: Chef Blazn
Will deposit and lift up to s level with 10 or 15 developer, lighter the better for these toners. they also don’t last very long

I have ombré hair dark brown on roots that goes into a 9/10 blonde on the bottom. Where the two colors meet, there is a lot of brass.. I bought icy white to turn it to an Ashe blonde. Can I put this on my brown the help blend the colors too?

HELP! I used the blue bleach with developer 20 tonight on my hair and it turned orange, literally :( my hair feels too damaged to bleach any more and I was really wanting to get that very white with like the hue or shimmer of strawberry pink in it. Advice

Asked by: Orangebharbie
If you have really dark hair like me it takes several times lifting it to get to blonde. Then once lifted you can tone the hair. If your hair is orange it hasn't lifted enough. The ion intense moisture conditioning packets sold at ($2) really help my hair after bleaching.

I want to got Platinum blond. I have dark brown hair? What Product and Tools Do I need? Thank You!

Asked by: MyHairLooksLikeAPumpkin
just did this with my hair. If you have well water i'd use an ion crystal clarifying packet first ($2). Otherwise mineral buildup has turned my hair weird colors from bleach. I don't use conditioner before bleaching my hair as it makes lifting it more difficult. I then use 20 vol developer and loreal quick blue bleach (mix according to directions: mixing bowl, gloves, and a tint brush to apply.) Wash out bleach. I then used Wella T18 toner (wanted more of an ashy blonde) mixed with 10 vol developer as you don't want to lighten or fry your hair even more. I later do an ion color defense packet treatment (like $2) which brings the life back to my hair. And use purple shampoo and conditioner to continue to remove brassyness.

Are the ion cream toners to be used on dry or wet hair for best results? One answer here said "these are made to be used on DRY hair, unlike Wella toner.

Asked by: sweet2354
The instructions in the box say to use on towel dry hair. These toners are meant to be used immediately after bleaching, no need to blow dry and cause more damage. I usually use them before my hair is fully dry and I've had no issues with Lavender Moon, Spring Blossom, Icy White or Platinum Lace (haven't used the others). They are much more subtle than Wella toners but that's good for me because Wella overtones my hair to some shade of swamp in 5 minutes or less every time, these just tone to cool or neutral blonde.

You will still need to pre-lighten your hair to achieve the whitest white.
