  • Pre-lighten the hair to desired level before applying toner. Mix 1 part Wella Color Charm toning color with 2 parts 20 volume Wella Color Charm developer. Apply to towel dried hair then, develop for up to 30 minutes. Check frequently to see if desired results are achieved.
  • You can customize the toner formula by intermixing shades. For example, if you want a shade that is in between an ash tone and a warm tone, try mixing equal parts of T-18 and T-14 with equal parts of T-11 or T-35.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from From yellow to blonde from red to blonde, I bleached my hair 3 times. I was at that ugly yellow stage when I decided to tone it with the t18 wella. Thank God I did! I'm not embarrassed to walk around with my crazy bleached hair anymore. First, after toner. Second, before!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So amazing Bleached my whole head by myself for the first time. Took two bleachings. Wanted to get the yellow out so I got this and some 20 developer. Literal magic. Seriously.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING!!! I absolutely love the way this product turned out! It gave me exactly the color i was looking for. I left it in for about 40 minutes, and the outcome was awesome The only reason I would be careful with it would be because I re-bleached my hair in between toning it and the first time i bleached it, so i don't know exactly how much yellow it's capable of canceling out. The two pictures are from the first bleach to after the second bleach and doesn't show the in between, so take it with a grain of salt. That said, I adore the way it turned out, I feel like the lady from atomic blonde.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love This Product this is a very good toner and I highly suggest it to people who want to go platinum blond. if pulled my brassy tones right out of my hair and gave it a nice cool, all over platinum blond. don't leave it in too long and make sure you get the proper developer and you will love the results of this shade.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could have been better! I bleached my hair at home and after watching tons and tons of videos on how to get the crispest/ most platinum outcome...I chose Wella T18. To be honest, I was kind of let down. It definitely took out some yellow but ultimately I wasn't impressed. I have another bottle so I'll probably try it again but I don't think it lived up to the hype.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product when used correctly! This is to be used on just colored blonde hair that has a brassy hue to it! Not on your roots that are not colored or a different color! This product always has beautiful results and brings my yellow/orange color to a brilliant light pale blonde. You must mix this as directed and apply only to blonde colored hair. This product only deserves a 5 star rating. Anyone giving it a lesser rating is due to them not using this as it was designed to be used.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Don’t use on brown roots I highlighted my hair, but there were still a few dark blonde/light brown roots in parts of my scalp. I used t18 with a 20 developer. It lifted my roots up to an orange color. Parts of my highlights are violet and the rest is a more ash color, which is what I wanted (the Ashe). I wish I would not have put this on my roots because now my hair looks horrible on top! I thought by just highlighting and not bleaching my whole head and scalp that it would be less damaging on my hair but I didn’t know the toner would lift my darker blonde. Wish I would’ve just bleached all me roots and then toned!

what will t18 do to grey roots?

Asked by: diannegg
A toner will deposit color on to your hair. How that color will appear on your grey roots will depend on your hair. Perform a swatch test on a small section of your hair with the toner following the instructions for proper mixing and application to see how the results will affect your hair

Do I use the whole bottle of 1.4 oz of color & mix it with the entire bottle of 20 vol developer(3.6oz)? Is that correct ratio?

Asked by: Prncessswagga09
It's 1 part to 2 part. So 1 bottle is 1.4 that means 2.8 for developer.

I have an orange/yellow tint from my highlighted hair. should I use a 30 developer or a 20 developer with this toner to make sure it lifts?

Asked by: Sadieladie
Either one... u don't have to leave it on that long for real... 30 will make it a lil lighter than 20... Its up to u.. i would use 30, but keep it on like 10mins less than u would with a 20 developer.

I tried to add a dark gray color over my bleached yellow hair but it still looked kind of yellow. Should I remove the color before using this product?

Asked by: cassie2330
It depends on the dark gray color. If it was an oxidative dye (one that needs developer), or a direct semi dye. If your hair is that yellow though, you’ll need to lighten it more anyway - your hair has to be “inside of a banana peel” cream color for this to work. Like the color of cold butter. That is only what will take you to stark white, which you need for grey or it will look green.

Wat is 050. Sharon

Asked by: Sharon Terrell
Some people also use wella cooling violet as a dye to get silver/grey hair. Mixed as you would with the t18 toner.

can i use this with volume 10 developer if i am toned bayalage and do not want to lift any of my dark root areas?

Asked by: hannahhancock205
10 will still turn natural hair an unsightly color. Even 6 volume will. It has ammonia. The only way to tone sans lift is with a deposit only product, not something you mix with developer. Deposit only products include purple shampoos and conditioners and manic panic type dyes.

Can I use the t18 with a 30 vol Developer, which I already have, or is the 20 volume a necessity? How would the results differ between the two? Thanks

Asked by: sharona9396
It calls for 20 not 10. I’ve used both of those and also 30 when like you I only had it on hand and it was fine. You’re only leaving it on for a few minutes.
