    Other tips:

    • Always perform a strand and patch test.

    • It is often not necessary to refresh the ends of the hair on every permanent hair color touch-up application.

    •For resistent gray, use NN shades ( 3NN, 5NN, 6NN, 7NN ) with 20 Volume TRUE COLOR™ Developer

•Apply coconut oil (or another barrier cream) around your hairline.

    • Choose a shade 1 level lighter than desired if you are unsure of which shade to use or if you have very few gray hairs.

    • Use an old t-shirt, towel, or coloring cape to protect your clothing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great color, but didn't cover my gray hair. The True color has really nice color and my hair feels softer. But it didn't cover any of my gray hair. I won't purchase again because my reason for coloring was to color my gray hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful all-around! This hair color is amazing! It has a nice tropical flower scent and didn't itch my scalp hardly at all. I was pleased with the end result too. It covered my gray hair really well also.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not the best I got the chance to try this hair product for free thanks to Influenster, I bough 2 light brown, 1 of the tubes was half brown and white and the second one was dark brown, and my hair turned very dark brown almost black, my hair is curly and this hair dye made my hair lose some of my curls, didn't cover my grey hairs and it also stained my skin and took weeks to get rid of the stains. Also the smell was so strong it gave me a headache.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this! For once an at home hair dye that’s true to color! Finally found my holy grail hair dye product. Loved my results. I followed the directions specifically and the integrity of my hair is still great. Also, such an affordable product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Didn’t burn my scalp This hair dye is amazing I have black hair and I tried to go blonde which I always pic the brightest blonde to go brown since my hair is so dark lol but when I applied this product and let it set it didn’t burn my scalp or itch or make me feel hot at all which most brands do and I even put developer in the product and still no irritation I think if you have super sensitive skin this would be a good brand for you to try!!!

Is nightfall brown equal to dark brown?

Asked by: Sibby1123
I might confess that I don't see much difference.

hair color that would blend in with my silver gray hair

Asked by: PJPSPICY
I recommend trying Wells Toner T110 , T114 or T118 These are all great for grey/ white hair. It depends on how light or dark your hair is. Use with 10 developer if you want to deposit darker color... 20 to lighten roots a bit if dark or 30 to lighten all over. These are better for silver white hair. 20-30 minute equal amounts of toner and developer.

I'm using the Soy 4 Plex creme permanette in 7A med cool blonde @ 6 NN Dark rich natural blonde and 20v so what would my color be in this new color? They've been good colors but around the hairline it shows the gray before I want it to! Thank you!

Asked by: frosty44
I can't answer your question regarding the color, but can say that I switched from the Clairol permanent liquid to this new product. I found that the colors are more natural and doesn't look so flat. Like you, I wanted to cover grey better and longer. This color does that.

I would like a beige blonde because my hair has a lot of golden in it..so ash turns greenish gray on me and golden blonde makes my hair more golden. What color of the blonde would give me the right color? I have been using the 9N in ION. Thank you.

Asked by: auntbebe
The 10CB is a cool beige blonde. I've used it and 10AV, ash violet. The 10AV is cooler. It will cancel out gold where as the 10CB will keep a little warmth and balance your tones. I think the 10CB with equal parts of color and developer would be the perfect balance.

There is no information about the tones of the True Color line. Did you create a new tone chart for it? Does 9GA mean blonde Gold Ash? I can't even guess what 10CB. The employees at Sally's had a Clariol book but it didn't explain either!

Asked by: KayW3204
Yes, 9GA is gold ash. I'm assuming green undertone, a touch of blue to a lot of yellow to keep it more golden. I have used 10CB and it's a cool beige blonde with a pink tone. It was really pretty!

The box says to shampoo after but that goes against everything I know; is this product an exception?

Asked by: EagerToDye
I used a small amount of shampoo and it was fine. I really like this product.

I'm trying to get rid of the golden tone in my hair, I'm a natural ash brown, and I'm trying to get as close to that as possible! What should I use??

Asked by: KYOULOU89
Use a brown filler then use Clairol true color permanent#5PA.
