Great for all hair types, and will help you create healthy, strong, beautiful curls with added body and shine. Achieves the 30 second curl™ by blow drying hair first to evaporate moisture

The Soft foam rollers are infused with gentle steamed moisture. Hair is then wrapped on the infused roller and covered with a shield. The Patented roller and shield design creates even moisture penetration and allows airflow for quick evaporation, or speed the process with a hair dryer. Gentle moisture penetrates the hair's molecular core allowing it to relax and bend. As moisture evaporates, hair is set in curled position. The molecular hold is so strong, it can only be released by shampooing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nothing better I've used them since they came out. These are the only things that truly curl my hair and the curl holds for a long time

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love. Love. Love Have been using this for 20 years. I have fine, straight medium thick hair. Nothing would curl my hair and hold and if it was it would damage my hair. My tresses are damage free and super shiny!!! Coukdnt do without my Caruso rollers

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Greatest Hair Curler I Have for Fine Hair I have owned several of these after it was recommended by a stylist. I use a total of 7 rollers each time. Two on the top and 5 on the bottom. I use the larger rollers as I have long, thin, fine hair. I usually put them in the next morning after shampooing my hair the previous evening as it gives my hair a chance to settle down. Then I put them in when I start to get eady and leave them in until I am finished nd sometimes longer. By doing s the set seems to last longer and I am able to void the frizz one woman spoke about. I was always told to not ahapio my hair every day because of it being fine. My set usually lasts at least 2-3 days and over that time the curl lessens. I have gotten compliments every time. Ny only problem is that I was in an accident a couple of years ago and have limited use my left arm which makes it difficult to style my hair. If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate them as I really miss the look that my Caruso gave me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Rollers!!! I have been using these Rollers for about 30 years and they absolutely wonderful. I have used them on friends hair that will NOT hold curl with anything else but lasted with these rollers. I won't use anything else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Set I have been using Caruso rollers forever! They are great! Most people use them wrong. I shake the roller a couple of times, after steaming it, before I put it in my hair. I believe this is a lot of the problem people are having. It keeps it from getting too wet. If you don't have a lot of time, blow dry your roller, on the lower level. You can blow thru the holes, on side of roller and raise them up.I have never tried this, but my sister uses the reg.clips you can get and she said, it helps on time leaving them up.She doesn't have much time in morning. They are the best I have eve used. Doesn't damage hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works great I have had three of these now over the past 20 years. They are great for my hair. they smooth out the frizziness and give long-lasting soft curls.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from creates lasting curl The curls will last days so that's a good thing. It was a little awkward to use because you have to heat them one at a time. What I didn't like was the inconsistency in my results each time I used the rollers. This may be cured with practice..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hair stays in place This turned out to be a great product, my hair looks great. Only problem...can only heat one at a time, that totally sucks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Caruso Hairsetter Not as good as the one I had 30 years ago. Maybe because it used salt and the curl seemed to last longer. Also, I'm disapointed and would not have bought it if I knew I couldn't get the comb clips that I used to be able to buy. It came with 3, but not enough, and they are nowhere to be found, even from the company. I have short, very straight hair and the comb clips held my hair in place as I was rolling my hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this! Had the old version of this and the new version is just as good, if not better! Easy and fast to use , great curls and waves. If other reviewer complained of frizzies, she didn't wait a few minutes after she took the rollers off.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from caruso I may grow to like using this item eventually, but my first couple of times using have been less than I expected. Left my hair too wet to hold the set. Will keep trying to figure it out based on the fact that my hair that does not dry quickly.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Making my hair frizzy I am not sure what I am doing wrong but I have very long, thick, naturally wavy hair. These rollers are making my hair extremely frizzy. Can anyone offer any advice as to how I can fix this. I would like to continue using them if I can get this figured out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great in humid weather I've used these the past 3 humid/rainy days and my hair is retaining most of the curl. I use thermal protection hair spray before I put the rollers in, and I use hair spray after, but that's pretty much what I did when I used a curling iron. The Caruso set with steam is MUCH better in the humidity. I'm happy! My hair is short and on the thin side, so I use "end papers" that I made with satin fabric. The squares are about 4x3, and they help keep my ends straight on the rollers as well as adding bulk that helps the roller clips grab and stay in place. I just wrap the "end papers" around my hair section just before wrapping my hair on the roller, and then I put the clip over it. Without the extra bulk, the rollers tended to slip. I use the blow dryer for a minute or two just before pulling out the rollers, to make sure any steam that might have cooled to liquid, gets evaporated. It really takes about 5 minutes for the curl to take, and another 10 minutes or so to let most of the steam escape. Fast and easy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great once you learn how to use it This is my second purchase of the steam setter, the first being back in the 90's when it first came out, and I used that for years until it finally wore out. But I forgot how to use it! There is a learning curve with this product as it does not, nor is it meant to, perform like regular hot rollers. My hair is cut in 10-12 in. layers and is thick. I first used it by placing the rollers (large size) at the end of my hair and winding to the scalp using a lot of tension. This resulted in tight curls at the ends only, about 2 in., and quite a bit of frizz after brushing out with a vent brush. I was disappointed, but kept experimenting. After some trial and error, what works best for me is to take large sections, place the roller one half to one third down towards the ends and wrap the hair around the roller with medium tension, tuck the ends in, and roll the rest of the way to the scalp. I only use 10-11 rollers on my entire head, 3 on the top, rolling backward, 1 above each ear, rolling downward, 2 on each side, and 1 or 2 more in the back, let set 10 minutes. I find the more hair is in the roller, the more secure it is when the shield is clipped on. Sometimes I need a small clip to keep the roller secure, maybe for 2 or 3 rollers, on the right side of my head (maybe my hair is thinner on that side?). The brush used for the brush out makes a difference. I like 1940's vintage style waves, like Rita Hayworth or Lauren Bacall, not a head full of curls. I get good results with a large, round boar bristle brush, not a vent brush. For lots of volume, bend over and brush out thoroughly, my hair looks wild at this point, but it gives me the base needed to brush the waves into place. Sometimes I use large clips to form and hold an "S" wave into place between the crown and ear, and give it a good spray. This usually lasts through the day, weather permitting if I need to go outside. This set does not last until the next shampoo, as stated on the 1990's video, at least not in my experience. On me, there is still some slight wave the next day, after sleeping on it, but my hair is oily, so I usually wash it every morning, anyway. My only complaint is the price up here in Canada - almost 50% more than listed on the US website, but I'm getting used to that since moving up here from the states 2 years ago. Other than that I'm satisfied. Firm curls, or waves, quick to set, little to no damage to hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from still working after 20+ years I got one of the first Caruso sets available professionally. I paid almost 200$ for it "back in the day". I used it daily in my salon, I loved it for prom and wedding styles. My set came with enough rollers to do 2 people at a time. I loved it then and I love it now that I have retired. I still do my daughter's hair with it and use it on myself. I don't have a bad thing to say about it...Thanks for all the years Caruso!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great product These are great curlers and not hard to use. My only problem is that the curls do not stay in past about 4-5 hours. Of course, I live in a more humid climate and my hair has gotten finer over the years. Since I like the look they give me initially, at least I can make a good first impression. ;-) PS: I purchased extra of the large curlers because my hair is long. This is not necessary because there are plenty in the kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing for styling I have relaxed hair and I ran out and bought these because i dont want to use the curling iron on my hair. I love this. I use this for daily styling and it does not damage my hair at all. The curl last all day even if you are using a large brush to brush them out. it gives my hair so much bounce and it is easy to put in. it takes me less than five minutes to put just a few in and way before im done with my makeup it is ready. I am so glad i bought these. I actually think this option is better than the curling iron.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Well Owned/used a Caruso Hairsetter for over 15 yrs. While wrapping one roller, the next is steaming. For a longer lasting set, I mist my head with water after rolling and dry for 15 minutes. While I dress, I leave the rollers in an hour to create a longer lasting curl. One caveat: if the hair is not completely dry, the curl will fall out.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for Fine Thin, Straight Hair I got this roller set as a gift for Christmas and I was super excited about it because I thought it would actually work with my hair. I have super, extremely fine, thin hair, that frizzes, breaks easily, and can't hold curl longer than an hour. I thought this would be the perfect fix, preventing breakage and putting moisture back into my hair....BAD IDEA! I tried it several ways (always using filtered water), a little steam, lots of steam, let it sit for five hours, blow dry it for an hour. In the five times I tried to use it I got three good curls. The rest of the time it looked like I had stuck my wet hair through some sort of science project that caused nothing but more frizzing, random creases, and an all around, completely unattractive look. I also found that my hair got caught around the foam and often caused more damage. Ended up returning them. Plus the covers/clips are difficult to put on the rollers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best purchase ever I purcased a Caruso curler many years ago. I still have it and it works fine. My hair is very straight and this is the only thing I have used that will keep the curl in my hair all day with light hair spray. I sit the curler on the stem, then I comb a section of hair, wrap it around the curler and clip it in place. Usually only leave in about 15 mins. after I have finished putting all the curlers in place. If you have straight hair this is the product for you. Rollers come in small, med. and large. I wouldn't do without my Caruso. I don't have to get a perm, if I want curl I just use my Caruso. The only problem is the foam on curlers. After a while the foam on the rollers disintegrates and you have to purchase new rollers, you can't just purchase the foam. Still worth it! Try it and you will see what I mean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Give it a try! This really curls your hair without any damage! it takes less than 5 mins to heat up. The curls last as long as ones curled by curling irons. Can't think of anything bad to say :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really works! This is my second one and i just LOVE it...i have thick hair and alot of it too. This works better than any curling iron ive ever had. Curls last and its better than direct heat and very easy to use. Curls are set in no time, remove curlers, give your hair a toss with fingers or gently shake up the curls (or spray but not really needed) and go!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from lasting curls This is my second one in many years. I love how well it curls and how fast I'm ready. I live in dry climate so it does last through the next day. Steam doesn't work well in high humidity places but it's the very best in dry climate. Caruso is the only curlers I'll ever use. My hair has more shine and body. The curls do fall out some the next day but still looks very nice without curling it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't live without it!!! I purchased my first Caruso steam system about 15 years ago. I have used it almost every single day and it finally bit the dust 2 days ago. How many small appliances can you say that about? I have very very fine hair that would normally not hold a curl without some chemical help. With the Caruso system I can say that I have NEVER had to use moose, gel or hair spray and my curls stay all day long. I cannot praise this product enough.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not for fine hair I wanted this to work since it does not damage the hair. I have fine and smooth hair that is straight with a very slight wave (a wave that only shows up if I use something like sea salt spray). This product created curls, but they fell flat within an hour. Not worth the time and effort in my case.
Date published: 2012-02-14
Rated 1 out of 5 by from didn't work First, false advertising of the number of rollers: the box shows 5 sizes. There are only 3! Second, I tried different ways of styling my fine, shoulder-length hair. I tried using the various sizes of rollers in different styles. None worked...until FINALLY I had such a cute hairstyle for a Christmas party. I sprayed it happily, only to have it fall out half an hour later at the party, unaware of how freakish I looked. I was up in front of the room with my husband, singing. Was I shocked when I saw a photo of us! I was so embarrassed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific Product I have very fine hair with absolutely no body. This product allows my style to last for hours instead of 20 minutes!!
Date published: 2011-12-13
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product My hair is permed and coloured and a real challenge when it comes to styling. This product is exactly what I hoped for ...... gentle on my fragile, frizzy and fine hair and the only product that provides me with curls lasting for days (I wash my hair every 3-4 days). I noticed that one customer has purchased 3 of these hair setters and found they stop working in the middle of a set. This usually occurs to me when I take longer than usual to set my hair. I simply refill with distilled water and wait until it starts to steam again.
Date published: 2011-08-15
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Product that works! I'm very happy with my 2nd purchase of the Caruso steam rollers. My hair is thin so after setting my hair with rollers, I use my blow dryer for a quicker dry. Works great and curls hold up all day. Great way to give the hair that added body.

must one blowdry hair before using?

Asked by: cherrylee
yes.. you have to blow dry your hair before setting. If you use the rollers on freshly washed hair and allow them to remain on your head for 15 minutes, the set should hold for at least one or two days, maybe even until your next washing. :) And no damage to your hair like curling irons or traditional hot rollers.

How long do the curls last w/thick medium length hair ?

Asked by: Highcountry
Hello.. If your hair is freshly washed and set with the curlers and they are left in for 5 to 10 minutes, the curl will last all day and possibly into the next day. I've been using these curlers for years and don't even own a curling iron or hot rollers anymore as the rollers are so much gentler on your hair and provide a great set! :)

I have to tell you I love my Molecular Steam Hairsetter. I have bought three over the last 12 years. They stop steaming if you forget to unplug them. So always unplug them right after you use them. They have a universal Molecular Steam Hairsetter that has a small adapter on top. You have to ask for the universal steamer I just take a adapter to Europe with me and use the steamer with my adapter. You will not be disappointed with these steam rollers. You will love them. They are great.

If I bought this molecular hairsetter would I be able to buy extra rollers from the company if I needed them and would they be 1 inch and 1 and 1/2 inch size or do they only come in 3/4 inch size?

Asked by: Ezmerelda
I have been using these steam rollers since they first came out when I was very young. I bought a new set of the Salon Pro steam curlers set about a year ago and I was able to buy extra of only the Jumbo rollers online at Sally’s website and they were all Jumbo with no other sizes mixed in with them.  I did not order any of the other sizes, so I can not provide an answer for any of the other sizes.
