Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very happy with this product I am not new to using flat irons, but the concept of the curved plates is new to me. As I was reading some of the other reviews, yes- I will agree that if you are not super careful, it's easier to burn yourself if you have the curved edges facing your face. But quite frankly, it's impossible to have this type of design AND prevent burning at the same time. So if you don't have the patience to go slow around your face, then don't buy this product. I have thin, medium length hair, and I like to change things up, between straightening, curling, and waving. I have to say this operates nice and smooth (my previous flat iron was a lot more expensive, and probably better quality, but it always got stuck in my hair). Anyone using hot tools of any kinds will experience breakage if you don't use heat protectant in your hair. I use heat protectant both before I blow dry and before I use my flat iron, and I haven't experienced issues. Also, I wouldn't recommend going any higher than 360 for heat. Overall, this is a great product for my hair type and I would highly recommend it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible. I bought this product a few months, and it never keeps my hair straight. I could straighten it in the morning, and not even halfway through the day it's wavy again. Also I get burned very easily with this straightener. It always burns my forehead. Also it breaks off my hair way to easily. It was honestly a waste of money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible! I bought this a month ago thinking that it would be a good purchase. Well, I was wrong. This straightener is a waste of money. It burns my head and makes my hair a static mess! It is so frizzy and leaves me with a ton of split ends! I cannot even return it anymore! I do not recommend this to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value I purchased these yesterday and just used them today and I have to say I'm quite impressed. I think I will be able to throw away all my other flat irons. My hair came out soft and actually looks flat ironed. I also love that the plates I also love that each plate has a rounded edge so you can bump the edges if you want. I also purchased a Keratin flat iron spray (not from Sally's but I'm sure they have it) to use with my flat irons. That and these irons are a good combo. The only thing I wish is the plates were just tad bit shorter in length since my hair is not long.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good concept, poor outcome I bought this iron because I liked the idea of having an all-in-one styling tool that could straighten and curl hair. The curved edges seemed to be a good idea, but it didn't work as expected. 1. each plate only has a curved edge on one side. So you are basically forced to use the iron in the same direction for each side of your head if you are wanting your curls to spiral away from your face on both sides Otherwise the iron will cause kinks in your hair. This works fine for my left side, but when I get t o my right side I have to point the iron downward with my arm arched over my head. It's very awkward and uncomfortable and makes it harder to keep my hair in the iron. 2. the plates don't hold onto the hair very well. My hair keeps falling out of the clamps prematurely unless I hold the iron very tightly which is hard on my wrists. 3. Despite the promised high temperatures, my hair didn't straighten easily even though my hair isn't very curly or stubborn. Never had this trouble with my other iron. Also when using the iron to curl my hair, some pieces of my hair refused to curl even when using the iron exactly like I did on pieces that did curl. Not sure why. 4. The ends of the iron where a person would normally hold onto to aid in holding the clamps closed get VERY hot. They aren't insulated like they should be or like my other iron is. I can't hold onto it more than a few seconds at a time or it burns me. 5. My hair is normally very soft and healthy feeling even after using styling tools. After using this iron one time, my hair felt like a frizzy bush.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent, very happy So I've tired many flat irons over the years, some that have damaged my hair very badly, some that have not straightened my hair well. I've spent a lot of money trying to find the right and best flat iron that I'm happy with and does a great job.. Well... I went into Sally beauty and asked for help.. They told me about this one.. And few others... I picked this one and so happy I did.. Works wonders.. Straightens my. Hair fast and easy, slides through my hair with out pulling it.. And it's soft and silky after.. I love this flat iron.. Finally I've found a winner:) I will always use this one.. I would tell everyone out there looking for a great flat iron that really truly works try this one.. It's wonderful:)

how can i curl my hair?

Asked by: neme
It is possible to curl your hair with a flat-iron. Starting fairly close to the scalp (but not close enough to accidentally burn it), clamp the iron closed and turn it back on itself a half turn. Run the iron slowly down the hair shaft to the end. The slower you move the iron, the tighter the curl. The faster you move the iron, the gentler the wave.
