Rated 1 out of 5 by from WEAK I am not sure what texture the natural haor needs to be in order for this to be effective.. not even sure what 500 degree fells like.. but i kw i had the comb on for more than 30 minutes at the highest setting and could still hold it in my bar hands...Secondly, I pressed @ 0800.. 1200 (lunch break) and 5 pm and still had an AFRO for the 7 pm event..... this pic is after the third pressing 10 minutes before going to hotel loopy and out the door... dreadful

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I would not buy again Mine just stopped working over the April 29th weekend! The dial was broken some time ago and I just removed the plastic cover from it because it was just spinning around loose and used my thumb to turn the dial. You are unable to see the temperature once dial is removed. I've had this comb for about 5 years and I don't use it a lot, usually for short hairs at the temple, near ears and the nape of my neck, and only during the cooler months (Oct-Apr). So it didn't get much use. The indicator light was on but the last 2-tries it just won't heat up anymore.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 2 thumbs DOWN! I bought this one week ago and I'm returning it today. My daughter has course hair and this did nothing for her not even on the highest temp setting.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Two thumbs down I bought this comb thinking that it would be convenient to travel and use due to no need for open fire but boy was i let down! I looove got Gold N Hot tools but this one is a complete fail because it does not press the hair the way it should. Even at the highest 500 setting and after several passes on the same section (which is damaging) it did not straighten my hair the way the stove top version does or even the flat / curling iron. I will be returning because i was not satisfied at all!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not get hot I have 3b/3c ethnic natural hair. I am able to flat iron my hair at 325/350 degrees and this comb did nothing at its max temp. Returned the same day

how high do the pressing comb go up to?

Asked by: momdukes3
Up to 500 deg. per the actual dial. However, once you use it on even a small section of hair, it loses almost all of that temperature. You must then wait quite a while for it to come back up to temp. If you’re using this on course hair, probably not a good choice. For light straightenening on fine hair, probably ok.

I liked mine but it didn't get hot enough so I cut the cord and use it on my stove. Works wonderfully. Just like the old fashioned ones that I lost and miss. Question though, is it made of Iron? Some of these new combs pull my hair out and are 2 light.
