Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good deep conditioner for super dense, 4b/c hair! Silk Elements Intense Conditioning Mayonnaise smells fruity; has a thick, creamy texture; great slip for detangling; and is quite moisturizing (more so than Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moist Deep Conditioner). First, I use Creme of Nature Argan Oil Shampoo. Then, I use a generous amount of Silk Elements Intense Conditioning Mayonnaise to detangle (with my fingers and a wide tooth comb) and let it sit for 10 minutes without heat. It works well on it's own but is awesome when mixed with African Royale Hot Six Oil. This is my favorite conditioner and I'll repurchase it as long as it's made.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Prefer the Cholesterol but works well too Prefer the cholesterol. This provides good deep conditioning. Leaves hair soft and detangled. I think the cholesterol provides more protein for me though, which my hair needs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great results My 2b/2c hair loves this stuff. I tend to avoid my scalp with it, but my scalp is picky with almost every conditioner under the sun. I find this conditioner strengthens my hair and gives it more body. The smell is really weird, but tolerable. I might buy it again, but I'm still looking for something that deep conditions this well without silicones.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I have fairly damaged hair from getting it relaxed all the time and my stylist recommended I use a conditioning treatment to help with the loss of moisture in my hair, especially in the winter. I'm not a big fan of Silk Elements regular conditioners, but this is wonderful. It left my hair nice and soft and there was very little breakage left in the shower as well as in my comb; plus it smells wonderful! Even though it did leave my hair soft, there are still some dry, almost brittle spots, but overall I am very happy with how it turned out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shedding Stopped in Tracks! Wow! This stuff is great! I have long, relaxed, color treated hair. I tried some "all natural" hair care products recently. Bad Idea! Hair was left stiff feeling with a waxy coating. I ended up with a lot of shedding and breakage on ends. Washed, deep conditioned with this product and followed up and d/c'd with the SE moisture treatment. When I combed through my hair during my roller setting, my hair was soft, silky and there was SIGNIFICANTLY less shedding! I went from a wad of my hair being combed out, to just a small amount of strands shed. Highly recommend!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Frizzy hair remains, only now it's also greasy! I have fine, yet abundant Caucasian hair. I had my hair highlighted twice in a short period of time, so as a result, I started out with rough, frizzy, dry hair, and after using this mayonnaise, I ended up with oily, frizzy, weighed-down hair. Mind you, I dipped my fingers in the container and only used one small scoop and I have hair that extends halfway down my back. I was hoping to have revitalized, moisturized, smooth, frizz-free, healthy-looking hair. After using this, my hair still felt rough, but now it looked as if I hadn't washed my hair for 2 weeks and had lost half of my head of hair (only because my hair looked sticky due to this product and the weighing down got rid of whatever volume I had left). I gave it 3 tries, and the result is the same. Thanks, unhelpful sales associate for claiming this was a miracle product, because it isn't! My hair looks worse than what I started with, and now I'm out $8. It feels like greasy cotton candy, if you can imagine that. Guess it will end up in the trash, since I was told by the associate that no refunds are given once a product is opened. I only give it a "fair" rating because the smell is very pleasant (like Snuggle fabric softener). And the search for a truly nourishing hair pick-me up that will make my hair look healthy continues...*sigh*

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am African American with relaxed hair. Alone this product didnt work well for me. After rinsing, it left my hair hard and difficult to comb thru. However, after reading the review that mayonnaise is a protein intended to strengthen and not necessarily soften your hair, I understood why. I experimented a little and now this is one of my favorites. I use a combination of the Megasilk Mayonnaise, Luxury Moisturizing conditioner, and the Leave in Moisturizing Creme. I sit under the dryer 15 minutes, comb thru, and rinse. My hair is left smelling great and it feels incredibly soft and detangled. Since using this combination I have noticed that my hair doesn't shed or beak off.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Changed Formula This conditioner used to be amazing for my hair. It stopped hair breakage and made my hair stronger. I used this for about a year and it stopped working for me for some reason. i realized Silk Elements change the formula by taking out the egg powder which my hair liked. Now I have to find another form of protein for my hair. To bad!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from TERRIBLE I CANT EVEN START! okay, the smell made me want to rip my nose off. I don't know HOW anyone can stand it. Also, it did nothing. I took a bath, washed my hair and put this on with a shower cap for about 7 minutes. then i took the cap off and rinsed it out and I COULDN"T BELIEVE what it did to my hair! It was so greasy, the smell didn't come out, and it did NOTHING! I will never use this again. TERRIBLE PRODUCT! I have course asian hair, i don't know if that's why, orr?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product! I love this product! I've been using this along with the entire line of Silk Elements for about 2 months now (me and my 12 yr old daughter). So far our hair is a lot stronger with very little breakage. I alternate each week between this product and the mega cholesterol conditioner, and so far so good (I leave it in for 30 mins with a plastic cap). I've received compliments on how healthy my hair looks now. With no breakage, I'm starting to really see length! Thanks Sally for carrying a quality product line at an affordable price! :)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I bought this thinking that it would help moisturize and possibly repair some of the damage I've done to my hair through bleaching it and using a flat-iron every day. Boy, was I wrong! It left my hair greasy and oily-looking and my ends looked even WORSE than before. The only pro was the nice scent. I'll be returning this product asap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE IT!!! I saw all the great reviews on this product and decided to try it. OMG!!! I can't believe how soft, shiny, and manageable my hair was after using this product. I have been looking for something to help with dry, shedding, and breakage. This conditioning mayonnaise was definitely the solution to my problem. I followed the instructions and the next day, I could already tell a huge difference. There was no hair all over the sink after brushing and combing. LOVE IT!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MegaSilk Intense Conditioning Mayonnaise I love this stuff! I have thick hair, and I stretch my relaxers to only twice a year. This stuff keeps my hair soft, tangle free, and I also think it has contributed to my hair growing. Very great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love Product I really love this product! I have 4b-4c texlaxed hair and during the summer I usually wear my hair wash n wear. I put a little in my hair in the morning and prior to going to bed. It has a creamy texture, but my hair soaks up nicely, no white streaks. The smell is wonderfully fresh too!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Surprise! I am black with thick, natural hair (type 3C-4a). Although my hair is not colour treated, I have lots of problems with dryness. I bought this conditioner in a pinch while on vacation because it was on sale 2 for $10. I didn't think it would do anything special but I was pleasantly surprised by this product. It is thicker and creamier than I thought it would be (yet not so thick that combing through your hair becomes difficult). It smells great, was not at all greasy and it made my dry tangled hair soft and easy to comb through. Do not let the little herbs in the product discourage you--they wash out with no problem (quite unlike Motions CPR). I have been using the product once a week by applying to damp hair before bed, sleeping with a plastic cap on and rinsing it out in the morning. This method has been working wonders for me. My hair is soft, manageable, and I can tell it is retaining moisture. Shedding and breakage has been reduced to zero. I also noticed that not ONE hair came off on my comb while heat styling last week--unheard of for me! I definitely recommend this product for anyone with dry hair issues!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Conditioner Ever Used This product made my hair feel so soft and smooth. I haven’t had a relaxer in my hair for 3 months. My edges are so straight and it feels as if I can go another 3 months without a relaxer. You have to use the silk elements shampoo with the conditioner to obtain maximum results. I sat under the dryer for 20 minutes. My hair is not as thick and I can only use a regular relaxer. I deep conditioned my hair 1xweek because I have dyed hair. Great Product!!!! The price is a little high $10.99. I will only buy it when the item is on sale for $5.50. I brought a lot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed.. I had read great reviews about this product so thought "Hey, I will go try this out". I had been debating for a few months on whether to give it a shot. One, the smell is not great! Two, it weighed my ALREADY thick, wavy hair down. It felt silky after I rinsed it all out. I used a blow dryer and my hair was just flat, had a greasy feeling to it and was weighed down. Thank gosh I had time to wash my hair again before I had to go to work. I think I will just try regular mayonnaise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Name says it all! This product is a godsend for anyone who has damaged their hair to the point where all it does is break off! It does just what it says it does...leaves hair smooth as silk! BUY IT! BUY IT! BUY IT! As an african american woman with super coarse and damaged hair... i recommend this to EVERYONE i know! Also works well with other products too... like the Aphogee 2 step protein treatment and the ion emergency repair kit!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WoRkS gReAt It worked great. I bought it after messing up my hair from too much bleaching I learned my lesson on that. Now my hair is very damaged and dry but this helps to leave it smooth. For me it works great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Protein Any type of hair Mayonnaise is considered a protein treatment. Protein is used to fix and repair badly breaking or damaged hair from relaxers, chemical treatments (such as hair coloring), heat damage, etc. Protein is NOT intended to moisturize your hair or make it soft, but that doesn't mean that it hasn't worked. You ALWAYS have to follow up a protein (ie: Hair Mayo) treatment with a "MOISTURIZING" DEEP CONDITIONING treatment to restore softness and PH balance to your. Again, a hair mayonnaise is NOT intended to make your hair soft. It's purpose is to stop breakage and repair damage and strengthen your hair!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! I love this stuff! I get my hair straightened every 6 months and it makes my hair a little dry and using the hot iron on it splits my ends sometimes. But this stuff makes my hair so soft and shinny and smooth! I use it once a week.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Just ok Ummm, this was recommended to be by one of the emplyees at Sally's and she said it saved her hair when she went through a Hair processing "faze". I even read the review below before buying. I left in my hair under a processing cap for 30min and heated it with the blowdryer for five min on low. It made my hair feel wonderful, as I was rinsing it out. I was so excited but by the time I was done and had towel dried my hair I still felt that I needed to add conditioner. My regular drgustore conditioner felt better than this did. Maybe it is just meant for mending hair not making it feel silky.

Can we flat iron our hair after using conditioner?

Asked by: Binonca
Per my experience with flat ironing my own hair, it has always worked out in my favor to do so after conditioning or deep conditioning. The results come out better, the hair looks healthier, and you have less chances for heat damage to occur.
