Rated 2 out of 5 by from Beware All the rods have square rubber bands. Don't use tension when wrapping. Could break hair. Nothing like the old rods!!!Bring back round bands

I have thick hair that is shoulder length with a slight wave. I would like to have tight curls. What size rods and solution would you recommend?

Asked by: DasiyD88
I would go with the white rods. If your hair is really thick you will need a lot of rods. Keep in mind that you don’t want too much hair on one rod so the curl processes evenly and the solution will seep to the ends.  The perm solution you use should be chosen by how you have processed your hair. Do you color/ bleach? Do you use 10, 20, 30 or 40 developer.

Which perm rods work best for spiral perms

Asked by: Babegirl
Long Curved Perm Rods work great for spiral perms. It's all I've used for years. Easy to maneuver when applying solutions and also rinsing.

I have a natural curl to hair but I want more curl like a natural looking big curl perm. What size of curlers and perm solution would be best for me?

Asked by: Amberperms
that's a hard one because we don't know how long your hair is and if you want tighter or looser curls. Plus by natural do you mean African American? To give you some perspective...I'm AA, grey natural. When I wan a bit of a smoother look, I use the 1/4 and 3/8 size. I just use my regular hair gel to set wet and let dry. Finger comb--this gives a curly look for me and not quite as wild when I just wash and go.

Why does the picture show 3/16 and the description states 5/16? Which one is it?

Asked by: mjdoonan
It's where the perm rod is smaller in the center and it get larger on the end of the perm rod .
